  1. I sent a letter to former big leaguer Johnny Wockenfuss to ask him to sign a baseball card for me which he did. He also wrote a note to me saying he's an avid bowhunter and knows WI has some great deer and he asked me if there is a place or if someone has land that he could hunt on and gave me his phone number if I have any info. so if anyone knows of any areas that I could recommend to him that'd be awesome. I don't hunt so I have no idea and am coming to you for help. Figured I could see if anyone has any info since he was nice enough to sign my card.
  2. The sunglasses indoors gives it away too lol.
  3. He's won 24 games the last 2 years and pitched 375 innings combined in those years. He doesn't have the stuff of Sheets but he seems to eat a few more innings than Ben and has only 1 win less. I'll take him for sure.
  4. I hope this deal does not happen and if it does, it must include some form of Kennedy or Hughes imo.
  5. I'm really glad we got him to sign a minor league contract, Cappy is one of the classiest guys I've met and deserves a shot at working his way back.
  6. Read this tidbit on part of an MLB blog regarding Igawa being the holdup in the deal: "The Post reported that the Brewers asked for Phil Coke, Jose Veras and Mark Melancon before Igawa's name surfaced, but the Yankees quickly said no. "
  7. Though you are being extremely pessimistic, I tend to agree with you. I don't love it, but the next year or two will probably be used to figure out what on the team now will take them to the next push for the play-offs. It is the most sensible course of action for their situation--unless of course, baseball would do more to change this. But short of a rash of injuries, it's not going to be 2001 rebuilding, its gong to be more like 2007. I try to keep a positive outlook but I'm just being realistic...I mean Suppan is a 10-12 win guy at best and has really declined since arriving here it seems....Bush is an extreme guy by dominating or getting extremely lit up and McClung is a longer relief/short relief guy, he definitely isn't a starter. I'm confident that Melvin will bring in a guy or 2 though, no way he can stand pat with those 5 as our rotation. Parra is good, he basically needs a little more experience in the majors (and work on his wild pitches).
  8. Look at their rotation and look at ours. They have a solid 1-5. We have Gallardo and nothing much after that really.
  9. What a steal for the Reds imo. That lineup could be dangerous with Phillips, Encarnacion, Votto, Bruce, Dye.
  10. I get goosebumps almost every time I listen to this.
  11. Was extremely disappointed in the super high prices for game worn jerseys. Had heard from a friend he landed a few Evelands for like $60 and all them today, as mentioned by others, were $200. $200 for Chris Spurling, etc.? Are you serious? I was very letdown upon finding those prices. Planned to grab a Mike Jones game worn spring training jersey but that was even $200. That went straight back to the rack.
  12. Put in Rickey and Blyleven and Big Mac.
  13. Has there been any announcements as far as our 09 minor league coaching staffs? If not, is there a deadline by which teams have to announce this or is there a general time when the Crew usually announces this? Reason being I'm curious to see who they put on the coaching staff for the T-Rats and hoping they put a former Brewer or two on the staff.
  14. I have an Easton Paul Bako cracked bat for sale. Natural colored bat with black Easton logo on the trademark area and his name on the barrel in black lettering. Looking for $20 for it, which would include shipping & handling cost. If need be I can get pictures for you.
  15. To me it's when the band has a new singer. The singer is the face of the band so to speak imo.
  16. Ueck is the man, but I'd have to agree with this statement! I would be absolutely devastated to see him leave us. I love his knowledge of the game and how he actually takes time to mention the minors, which is what the Crew is all about, building from within. Uecker doesn't ever mention the minors whatsoever.
  17. THey may not have made the playoffs but why not give Fredi Gonzalez this award? He has a $21 million payroll team to work with, finishes 7 games over .500 and the Marlins stay in the division race most of the year? Pinella had a $120 million payroll team...pathetic.
  18. When was the last time a Brewer actually won a gold glove?
  19. Is there a link to video of him being introduced?
  20. Do you not watch games on a regular basis? Weeks' defense is nowhere near Hardy's. Weeks is one of the worst defensive infielders I've ever seen.
  21. Enough with the 1982 love on the coaching staffs please sheesh. Great players don't necessarily equate into great coaches...he didn't last long in Seattle as their hitting coach don't forget.
  22. I'm thinking about applying to become a mailman after college and was wondering if anyone here is a mailman or would happen to know how you'd go about becoming a mailman? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
