  1. Thanks for the tip, turned it on in time to see him hit a guy to make it 8-6
  2. I'm glad I didn't turn this game off. Helps that it's only 8:40 Pacific Time.
  3. I think 35 HR and an OPS of .845 is pretty special. I don’t see García coming close to replacing that kind of production, and he’s playing RF where you are usually looking for a lot of production. Yes, Moose had a very nice season a year ago. Thinking those were going to be his numbers again would be very foolish. He has another 10 years of a career that tells you that. Both of the following are true: 1) the lineup really misses Moose 2) it was the right decision not to re-sign Moose
  4. I know Sogard isn't really popular on this board but he's put together the best ABs on the team so far this year. Which is probably why he gets slotted in the leadoff position.
  5. That about sums it up. The three biggest bats in the lineup have done virtually nothing. Many of the newcomers and role players have looked pretty good. Our big bats will wake up so I'm not too worried there. The starting rotation is my biggest concern. We don't have 162 games to figure that out. If Burnes or Freddy come out shaky next start it has to be a quick hook followed by a bullpen assignment.
  6. I like what I'm seeing from Yelich today, he just missed that one. He's too good to slump for much longer.
  7. The whole squad is really tough to watch right now MLB is tough to watch right now. .231 league batting average, .705 OPS. (vs. .252 and .758 in 2019) And that's WITH the NL having the DH now.
  8. I don't worry about Braun, he was right on that hanging slider. That pitch won't get past him next time.
  9. I nearly got taken out by an SUV on my bike yesterday. I was cruising along in the right side bike lane while the cars were stuck in a traffic jam and moving at maybe 2 mph. Out of nowhere one of them decides to cut right into an open parking spot while I was alongside them, causing me to quickly swerve right and try to avoid their right front fender. Fortunately the curb happened to have a cut right there so I was able to get into the open parking spot and ride up onto the sidewalk, otherwise I would have slammed into a parked car at 10 mph. I should really attach my GoPro to my bike helmet so I have a better record of cars doing illegal things, since I see it all the time. Lesson also learned to be more careful while riding in stopped traffic since nothing makes cars do stupid, unpredictable things like a traffic jam.
  10. Exactly, and they spent months quibbling over money and refused a bubble. Price can step off his soapbox. The contract negotiations are a bit of an aside here, the bigger issue IMO is that the agreed-upon procedures were not followed and my question is why MLB didn't step in and cancel the game yesterday. As well as the obvious breaches of protocol by players on the field. The MLB season probably rests on whether the Phillies come back with a bunch of positive tests or not. If it can spread from team to team during a game then it's probably over.
  11. Twitter is a full on roast of MLB right now.
  12. The NBA has had a few players inside their bubble test positive. Yes but they were able to quickly get that number down to zero and with no outside interaction it's probably going to stay that way. The sport that I'll be watching closely is college football, which has way more at stake than MLB in terms of needing to play a season in order to keep their finances afloat.
  13. Gyorko has good numbers against Brault (4 for 9 with a HR -- small sample alert!). Yelich has also hit him well.
  14. From what I can tell the biggest issue is that the Marlins shouldn't have been allowed to play on Sunday according to MLB's own rulebook. Which makes one wonder, who exactly is in charge of enforcing these rules? What a joke.
