  1. The Reds' booth is still trying to figure out how the Brewers only have 2 errors.
  2. I hope you're right but it seems the threat of another collapse is causing a number of people on here to lose it.
  3. If he goes another inning without giving up an earned run he gets credit for a quality start. Doesn't matter if he gets a quality start because back the 90s Cal Eldred ended up being a flop so the Brewers have a history of not producing home grown pitching and because of that the Cubs got Daniel Murphy and now that Darvish is out for the year Stearns still made a bad call signing Chacin who is TERRIBLE away from Petco. I'm done with this team. Traded away ALL of our top prospects for a few rentals and Yelich doesn't even have a good launch angle and Thames isn't a .300 hitter like he was in Asia so that was false advertising and now that Scooter fixed his swing the Brewers don't have a good 2nd baseman because Schoop is terrible. Done with this team. Even if we make the playoffs its not like we are going anywhere probably just lose the play in game and even if we win that it doesn't matter because we couldn't get Archer. I promise you Wade Miley isn't going to amount to anything. Should've just signed Lynn or AT LEAST traded for him, but no... Khris Davis is another name I can say out loud. This team is so Brewers. I'm done. I'm just done. I want everyone to know how much I know about baseball and it is SOOOOOO like Travis Shaw to keep trying to pull outside pitches and why wasn't Hader brought in in the 3rd when Guerra was in trouble, could have saved us 3 runs and we'd be winning. I would've traded Knebel this offseason because relievers all fall apart just look at Papelbon. I'm so done with this team. Why do I even turn the TV on? If Ted Thompson would have just traded for Moss... ahh, dang it sorry... and why can't Kratz catch a baseball? If Hader was pitching there he would have caught it. It is so like the Brewers to only score 5 runs on this scrub and then not score any for 2 innings. Terrible offense. This defense is terrible too. Today was the worst I've seen in any game since the Bill Spiers days and I've seen A LOT of games. Trust me. I'm a huge baseball fan and I know a lot. Jeff D'Amico, Jeff Juden, Kevin Seitzer. Look at all the names I know. This is unforgivable. Just wait, I promise I won't watch another game if they don't come back and win this. I'm so done. The Cardinals got Mat Adams. What a talent that guy is but we just sit here with our guys like they are suppose to improve on their own. What a waste. Taylor Green never got a fair chance. That's on Stearns. He should have known about Yelich's launch angle. Do your homework you nerd. I'm out. Wow impressive rant. Have a nice evening.
  4. Teams that have a high preseason ranking are allowed to play an easier schedule and lose more games than teams that start the year ranked lower. The system is designed to give credit to performances in previous years.
  5. Nice to see patience at the plate from Schoop.
  6. #4 in the preseason AP poll. Wow. No flying under the radar this year.
  7. This is everyone in the Pacific Northwest...the dream of the 1890s is alive in Portland...
  8. Ok this is open again if anyone wants to discuss the trade without making personal insults to each other. Users that fail to abide by the board rules are subject to banning.
  9. A reminder that condescending posts toward other users are not allowed. Please do not respond to baiting. The mod team will sort things out.
  10. This is the same distortion we've talked about earlier. If the Stearns approach is quickly turning a pile of garbage into a winning team, you'd also have to admit the Stearns approach includes trading away major league talent for little or no return. Stearns did jettison, Khris Davis, Will Smith, Scooter Gennett, Martin Maldonado for little or no return. He sold low on Jean Segura. Adam Lind could also be included if we've already seen the best of Freddy Peralta. He also spun off the prospects he acquired in the Lucroy trade for a handful of veteran rentals. The preceding shouldn't be construed as a slam on David Stearns in any way. I think he's done an ok job with the hand he was dealt and lwhatever edicts come from ownership. However, I don't think he's a personnel genius either. Nelson and Anderson having career seasons in 2017 is more likely than not the main reason the team jumped into being competitive, as opposed to any sort of master plan implemented by the GM. There's plenty of truth to your statement...one characteristic of Stearns seems to be the high volume of moves, for better or worse. And yes, the "master plan" to 2017 was to throw a bunch of darts at a board and see what stuck. Two of the top 3 offensive players from 2017 were some of those darts--Shaw and Thames. This year the top 5 offensive producers are all Stearns guys. It's not clear what will come out of the farm system from the Stearns era yet. Will it cost us that we traded all these guys away? Or was it a smart way of getting value while solving the 40-man roster crunch? I don't know, but we clearly made moves to try and get a leg up on the wild card chase. So far only 1 of the 3 major moves has worked out. Making the playoffs or not doesn't change the bigger picture. Even if we make the playoffs, we have a 50/50 chance of being eliminated in one game (unless we somehow miraculously top the Cubs which was never part of the plan).
  11. This thread shows that many people like the Doug Melvin approach to running a small market baseball team. It made us feel like one of the 'big boys' because we made splashy free agent signings and traded for big names. The national media loves big names too and we repeatedly had high expectations. Planning for the future isn't any fun, gotta trade those prospects and go 'all in'. If something doesn't go right, it's definitely the fault of the coaching staff. Gotta keep that revolving door moving. What do we have to show for that? On the other hand, we have the Stearns approach where a roster of complete garbage was quickly turned into a winning team mostly by picking gems off of the garbage pile. Two rebuilding years turned into two of the most fun years of watching the Brewers in my lifetime. If you really think about it, it's incredible that this team continually puts pressure on the Cubs. They shouldn't be doing this.
  12. That's going to be hard to do from the locker room.
  13. Well well, now the tying run is at the plate.

Conveniently WGN didn't show the one angle that showed the glove directly on his shoulder a half step before he touches the base. The last one your clip showed kind had it, Brewers broadcast had it clear as day I think I see what you are referring to now.
