  1. Every time it looks like reality is setting in this team comes back and rattles off a couple wins.
  2. Wow, what a difference a year makes! From 5th worst to second best in MLB in outs on the bases.
  3. Franklin just earned himself another 2 weeks on the roster. Edit...sarcasm...maybe?
  4. This team's offense is basically generated by Sogard and 5 Russell Branyan clones.
  5. I'm sure every player there knew what the booing was for and probably agreed with it. Milwaukee is just one of those cities where the fans are prone to booing. Suppan, Gagne, Helms, Ned Yost in general, etc. I don't always condone it, but at least the fans care about winning. Some cities are the complete opposite. I've never heard any booing at Safeco Field in Seattle, including during a 16-1 loss that I attended last month. The crowd was entirely unfazed by a 10-0 deficit in the 4th, still cheering enthusiastically like nothing had happened (except a lone dissenter who was quite angry with the Mariners). It was hilarious.
  6. 442 ft on the Broxton HR according to the ESPN HR tracker. Not sure how Statcast messed that up so badly. http://hittrackeronline.com/parks_2017/buschstadium_rings_2017_2448.jpg
  7. I suspect that MLB tweet was wrong. It was a nice HR, 450+, but 489? Really?
  8. Here we are 1.5 months after this thread started and this group of misfits is still somehow in first place! Maddon has to say the Cubs will be in the WS of course, but their slow start is more than just a blip now and their win projections have declined considerably. Maybe 86 or 87 wins will get you the NL Central this year. If that's the case, the Brewers will have a serious shot.
  9. Lot of whining there for a pitch well in the strike zone...
  10. That's what I thought. Also thinking back to that Prince Fielder inside-the-park HR.
  11. Combined 42 is an NL record. Aguilar and Villar both get Golden Sombreros.
  12. I'm not convinced Puig has more upside than Braun. Braun produces when he's healthy. Puig hasn't done anything for 2 1/2 years. As others have said, the difference is salary, but the Brewers are sitting on piles of cash so it's not that big of a deal. The ship sailed on the Puig trade so it's purely hypothetical.
  13. checks Puig's War it's 0.0 shrugs shoulders
  14. Glad that Stearns called the Cubs out on their BS, but honestly, I have to tip my cap to the Cubs for getting away with it. Sometimes a slumping team needs a day off and it sure didn't hurt their cause today. Hopefully MLB changes the rule...otherwise it would be unfortunate if the Miller Park roof got stuck open at an inopportune time for the Cubs.
  15. Looks like the rain is about over, lets play some more baseball!
  16. gamecast. please explain. Schwarber chased a popup about 150 ft, went right off his glove near the SS position.
  17. Projecting at a 1/3 chance at the playoffs with a somewhat favorable schedule over the next month. Tons of depth and potential players at AAA that could supplement the MLB roster down the stretch. But the pitching is not likely to get any better without help. It will be interesting to see if they consider trading some of the offensive depth for pitching depth.
  18. The Brewers have the best winning % in MLB on Mother's Day and the worst on Father's Day.
