  1. Yep, that would make a big difference. We know Tampa can turn out for sporting events (see Lightning) so it should help. It seems like there has been at least some progress. Miami should see a boost once Loria gets rid of the team, but the new owners have to undo decades worth of distrust and disinterest.
  2. Sadly there is a simpler explanation...HBP from Saturday.
  3. Yup. Has there been any changes to the Tampa stadium situation? I know it's basically crap, but after this long they don't draw anyone it's probably time to give someplace else a crack at it and see how it goes rather than spending a billion on a new stadium there. I don't recall any news about a new stadium. Probably better to do that than a 2 team expansion. Montreal and Charlotte would keep them in the AL East. The Rays will not be relocated because they have a large fanbase that prefers not to attend games in person (stadium issue + older skewing fanbase). The Rays TV audience is in the top half of MLB. They have a much larger TV audience than the Brewers (thanks to higher population in Tampa/St. Pete).
  4. Did I just see this team score a run with 3 straight singles?
  5. I wish we had alternated wins/losses then entire month rather than this awful rollercoaster.
  6. Fangraphs gives us a 5.5% chance at securing the second wild card. If the Rockies falter, there will suddenly be a pack of near-.500 teams all fighting for that spot. It's hard to digest knowing we just had a 5.5 game division lead, but the Brewers went from a likely playoff team to longshot in 2 weeks.
  7. I'm going to be in Milwaukee for a day or two September so I took a look at the schedule and saw the Brewers are at home playing the Cubs. Normally that would be an immediate NO because we all have experience with Cubs fans at Miller Park and I'd rather not go to the game than deal with it. But...since I don't get to Miller Park very often, I decided to go ahead and try to purchase tickets. I was shocked at what the Brewers are charging for these games. $70 for the loge outfield??? $35 for terrace reserved??? Forget it. The moral of the story is that the Brewers can't do anything about it, so they may as well jack up the prices and get as much money as possible from the Cubs fans. It's all about supply and demand and when there are Cubs fans willing to pay $35 for a nosebleed seat, why should they give discounts to Brewers fans? If they did, the Brewers fans would turn around and sell the tickets on Stubhub for 3x face value.
  8. Looks like Chris Christie discovered the magic of Miller Park's loaded nachos...
  9. Looking forward to August so we can get back to focusing on 2019.
  10. The Brewers did the right thing and gave the Miller Park crowd what they came for.
  11. Beltre just hit 2,999. He'll have a couple chances for 3,000 tonight.
  12. Didn't think we would ever see a pitch clock either, but it sounds like it's coming in 2018. Robostrikes can't be more than a few years behind that.
  13. Is that the first time in MLB history that the pitcher been pinch-hit for in his first AB while holding the opponent scoreless? (excluding injuries) Glad to see that CC recognizes the importance of this series.
  14. Yep. Can't wait for the pitch clock to put an end to this.
