  1. Yuni B! Looking better at the plate again today!
  2. Same thing happened to me last week here in Miami, but fortunately they chose the Brewers for the national broadcast today. The rules are so stupid, I ended up doing something else because the Yankees game was of no interest to me.
  3. The Cubs remain a big threat to the Brewers because of their spending power, so I am always a little uneasy when there is a regime change. I expect that they will be looking to make a splash this offseason to keep the fan base interested and avoid a big decline in ticket sales. I am hoping that they sign Pujols to a ridiculous contract.
  4. Hmm, it kind of emptied out here. It is nice to get a look at De La Cruz.
  5. Loe had 8 consecutive scoreless outings before today. The reason he doesn't pitch anymore is because the starters keep going 7-8 innings.
  6. Tough luck to the folks at the game today. The last time the Brewers lost by 5+ at home was May 11 vs the Padres.
  7. I'm talking just getting the chance of Braun or Prince being the tying run, not about them actually winning the game. So they have about a 1/10 chance of winning and maybe a 2/10 chance of tying the game. To me, that means they have at least a 40-50% chance of getting somebody up as the tying run (assuming it stays a 3 run deficit).
  8. I know Betancourt wouldn't have gotten to that ball either, but Wilson doesn't look like much of a defensive upgrade.
  9. It's a lot to ask to get 2 runners on base in one inning? I get that the offense has been quiet, but that is a little extreme.
  10. Looks like Kershaw is going the distance today barring some unforeseen event. All you really need though is to get a few guys on for Braun/Fielder.
  11. Wow, I'm really disappointed in you guys. Giving up on a 3 run deficit after they have won 19 out of the last 21? Has this team not taught you anything yet?
  12. Looks like the plan for the 3rd time through was to swing early in the count. Prince and Braun just missed, they were good pitches to swing at.
  13. They have Kershaw's count up a bit but he's good for at least 7, possibly 8 innings. Need to get him the 3rd time through the order.
  14. Perhaps the Brewers need to put up some sort of fenced queue at the ticket windows if it is becoming a problem. It obviously will not completely alleviate the problem, but then at least people could be physically separated from the scalpers.
  15. I believe the 19-2 stretch is now the best 21 game stretch in club history. The 1987 Brewers were 18-3 after 21 games as part of a 20-3 start. After that they immediately lost 12 games in a row. So hopefully that doesn't happen again, but it shows how fast things can change in baseball.
  16. The Brewers didn't play very well tonight, but it was a relatively drama-free victory. Do we really expect anything different at this juncture? Just keep riding the wave for another night.
  17. http://images.yuku.com/image/gif/3d21501c8a6a4a3dce5000ca2a0bcb3fbf0a738.gif Here's Ruby--although she is larger than this picture now. Having trouble uploading images so I have to use one with bad quality. Teatoe--she's not from the same lineage, but that would have been a crazy coincidence. She definitely isn't as cool as Milton, no Brewers gear yet but that will change if I have my way. She also has lots of energy and doesn't sit still very often when she is awake. We try to tire her out but she still wakes up and wants to play at 3 AM...and 5 AM...and 7 AM. Also, she is all better from the aforementioned attack. Backupcatchers--We bought a few books on Italian Greyhounds so you do not need to forward me the book, but thanks very much for the offer! We read that some Iggies tend to be timid, so we have introduced Ruby to lots of other people and dogs with good results. It has been hard work to train a puppy but well worth it and we are seeing good results so far.
  18. I guess we will have to agree to disagree about Yuni. Gwynn now has a home run for every 220 PA in his career. To compare, Counsell has a HR for every 132 PA.
  19. I've never seen any indication of either. I'm 100% in favor of benching Yuni if there is a better option, but ultimately Wilson isn't a full-time starter and is unlikely to do any better than Yuni.
  20. Yes we were, and for good reason. He had a great month. He won several games with his contributions. It doesn't have to be back vs. white, you like Betancourt or you hate him. He appears to be a nice guy who works hard. I've never seen any indication that he is lazy. Slow, yes, but not lazy.
  21. Yuni's swing is off balance again. I think he needs a day off tomorrow.
  22. The 2010 Giants disagree. Edit: I will say that if they want to continue to play .900 ball, they need to score a few more runs.
  23. We really love her so far, her name is Ruby, almost 4 months old already. Unfortunately we live in Florida now so she probably won't be making any trips to the Fox Valley http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif. But she is good for FL because she is unaffected by the heat. I'll post a pic when I get a chance.
