  1. Logan, how many more wins do you think the Brewers would have if management would have followed your opinions on personnel moves this year?
  2. I'm not interested in seeing rookies play in September. We're in first, not fifth.
  3. Keep winning 2/3. It would be nice to take 5/7 on the next homestand and go from there, although even 3 or 4 out of 7 isn't going to do any harm. Just need to keep a 4-5 game cushion and avoid losing streaks.
  4. I know he isnt good but it is odd to call out a guy who is 3-4 tonight Can't I be calling out a guy who has a .283 OBP on the season?Yuni does not read this forum. He made an out. We all saw him swing at at the pitch in the dirt. And we all knew that about 5 comments were forthcoming about it.
  5. The negativity is going too far tonight. There doesn't always have to be a scapegoat. We are here to talk baseball, not drop cheap/sarcastic one liners. I understand it is funny sometimes, but at some point it just gets old.
  6. I forgot what it was like for the Brewers to be losing late in a game. It has been over 2 weeks.
  7. Looks like the speculation about shoulder problems may be correct, but I have no evidence.
  8. In 2008 when they clinched, I was at work. It was a new job and I had to be professional. I caught a brief look at the final Mets out. Never celebrated, not a fist pump, nothing. So if they do clinch this year, I plan to really celebrate it this time. I had the fortune of being at the Weeks/McClung Friday night game and the playoff win though, so I'm not complaining. I do not really care how they do it, but I've always envisioned it as them getting the final out to clinch and celebrating right on the field. The CC final double play was nice in '08, but it kind of took the drama out since they were never down to that "last strike" and they had to wait 20 minutes to fully celebrate. The Reds clinched on a walkoff home run last year, that would be amazing. Maybe a Counsell sacrifice fly is most appropriate? If they clinch early, they will still be battling for home field advantage, so there will still be some meaning for everyone who bought tickets to games the final week. But most likely they will not win the division by 6+ games and it has a very high probability of coming down to that final week. It always seems to in baseball and I find it unlikely that the Cardinals will just go away. Last time, I was just relieved that they got in. I expected them to lose to the Phillies. This year, the tension and anxiety will be multiplied by 100 times. It could be the year...but yet a few stupid bounces, missed plays, or bad calls could ruin it all. Anything less than the NLCS will be a major disappointment, and even though the Phillies are better, you never know. I think it is absolutely crucial to not only win the division but also to get that #2 seed that keeps us out of Philadelphia in the NLDS and gives the Giants a chance to knock them off again.
  9. The 2001 Milwaukee Brewers weren't exactly a talented team either. They could sure hit, but usually a rotation of Jamey Wright, Jimmy Wayne Haynes, rookie Ben Sheets, Alan Levrault, and Paul Rigdon isn't going to go very far. Not to mention 10 starts by Ruben Quevado. How that team every managed to get to 38-34 before they tanked is the real miracle. Pirates fans can blame "the call" all they want, but we all know they did not have the talent.
  10. Never in my 16 years of watching the Brewers have I seen them go through such a stretch of dominating baseball. I have seen plenty of hot streaks, but usually there is more luck involved than this. Who would have thought they would go 13-1 without Rickie Weeks?
  11. It's a shame that Wolf can't complete the game, but I understand the situation. Especially since he would have had to sit for 20 minutes while LaRussa argues. No sympathy by the way.
  12. With the long stretch of consecutive games ahead, it would be nice for Wolf to go the distance tonight and get the bullpen a night off.
  13. Eat at the ballpark in Baltimore. They had some really good looking BBQ pulled pork in the outfield by the warehouse for only $6 or $7.
  14. I think I found one.
  15. Huge huge huge huge win. 12 out of 13 now. 4-0 on the road trip. Awesome.
  16. I really hate tie games on the road in the 9th inning and later. It is just too nerve wracking when one pitch can lose it.
  17. If you are better than the competition, you want a 7-game series. If the competition is better than you, it is better to have a 5-game series.
  18. I can say that I 100% agree with the statement that we need to win games. Considering the importance of this game, it is probably ok to send Saito out there. I wish Roenicke would be more willing to play matchups and make mid-inning pitching changes.
  19. Need to keep Saito's arm fresh. Plenty of other relievers out there.
