  1. I would like to have a Japanese player on our roster just to show Cubs fans how not to act just because we have a Japanese player on our roster.
  2. I feel like I could have written this, down to every detail.
  3. "there is a belief that Hayes may have been sliding down the handrails before falling approximately four levels." Tragic, yes, but also reassuring is that it wasn't really an "accident" that could just be blind fate and happen to anyone. Don't do stupid things and you'll lessen your chances of dying unexpectedly.
  4. Stupid idea, I know, but... http://www.minorleagueballparks.com/alex_il.html "the playing field itself is an exact replica of Wrigley Field's" It's close, and they could probably find some room for a couple of thousand more seats.
  5. I'd like Arroyo and he could maybe be had for cheap right now.
  6. Agreed about Weaver now that I think about it. The Pads do have Peavy though, so they might part with Young for less than other teams might.
  7. Can we pry Chris Young away from San Diego with Gwynn plus Weaver and someone else?
  8. I played a few ballgames against Vuke's kid. We nicknamed him "Ogre". Dude looked 40 when he was 15. He gave me props for hitting 3 doubles off the wall in the same game. I think Jerry Augustine's kid was on the same team.
  9. Maybe it's a clubhouse case of the hurpolie urpolies. One of my favorite blogs: http://flashyourstache.wordpress.com/
  10. I don't doubt you read it, but I really doubt the authenticity. I have an extensive background in physiology, and am around this sort of thing all of the time. A guy like Gabe Kapler has low body fat (I realize he is new to the team) is "low" in body fat, and I have to believe that guys like Hardy, Counsell, and Hart (all who have been around for a while) all have a lower percentage now, and then (whenever that was), than Prince did. Not because they are skinny, because sometimes skinny guys are out of shape and "fat", but because they are skinny AND are fit (as it is their profession). I bet Weeks might have been there at one point too, but he seems to have plumped up lately.
  11. Here we go again. Prince might be very muscular, and even fit, but his body fat percentage is pretty high. Just look at his midsection. I don't understand why so many people vehemently deny this very obvious fact. It's not a slam on him, as it obviously does not affect his play... yet. So why the denial that Prince is fat? Professional offensive lineman are fat too, but they are also very fit. Anyone want to deny that?
  12. No matter what I do I can't get the MLB Gameday Audio signup to work. It gives me an error and tells me to try again later. Tried different browsers and different credit cards. Radio doesn't work in the depths of my building, and live internet radio broadcasts are blacked out. How do you guys listen to the game?
  13. Rowand will see good pitches.
  14. You might have missed it, but Charter is adding FSN Wisconsin's HD feed to its lineup "this summer". No word yet on an exact date.http://www.madison.com/tct/business/278512
  15. Braunville Braunwaukee Ryan's House Hammer's House Hammerland
  16. Love it! My Outlook calendar is my life, and my wife only has 98% control over it.
  17. Braggs did a little acting in the late 90s. Mostly commercials, but he was in Arli$$. His wife's name is Cindy Herron (see pic), and they have 4 kids. http://cache.viewimages.com/xc/2998375.jpg?v=1&c=ViewImages&k=2&d=17A4AD9FDB9CF1934A2752006EF5F0ED8B6A7AC5AB37032B5A5397277B4DC33E
  18. We need to see a source for this, because it's just pure BS. My extremely educated guess (extensive background in physiology) is that he has 20% or higher body fat. Guys like Rickie Weeks are certain to be under 10%, probably closer to 8%. A guy like Gabe Kapler is a freak at 6-7% (5% in his prime). Prince is fat, but it doesn't mean he can't be fit. Though the "fittest" people on Earth are extremely low in body fat (elite marathoners and triathletes for example), it is entirely possible to be fat and fit. I use myself as an example. I am a marathoner and triathlete who is realistically in the top 5% of the population in fitness levels, but guess what... I'm about 10% fat. The fat you could pinch on me, is a fraction of the fat you can pinch on Prince. The guy is stressing his joints and bones, and if he doesn't trim down, will have a short career.
  19. I thought he made a few good-contact-outs last night. With a little luck, this discussion could have turned considerably. He has actually hit safely in 5 straight, a minor slump-buster if you want to look at it that way. He has an odd approach and swing, but it's not a timing-critical approach (like say Jenkins' is), so I would have to imagine these prolonged droughts are going to be few and far in between when he learns to keep a level head.
  20. This thread is money!
  21. $3,000 isn't exactly a fortune. I've spent more on corporate outings and holiday parties for my company. I just haven't thought to try a Brewers game yet. So, yeah, there are individuals who frequent this site that can (but haven't yet) done that.
  22. It is all-inclusive at MP according to the way I read it on the site. When I went we even got a souvenir when desert was delivered, but I think that might have been a premium service above and beyond what's included. I'm curious to see if any are available 8/19-8/20.
  23. I found the menu on the info page, so some of my ?s are answered, but I'd still like to hear about some experiences.
  24. I searched for it, but couldn't find anything (is it me or does the EZBoard search kind of suck?). Sorry if this is the wrong board. Anyway. Has anyone here every rented a suite at MP? I've been in one, but never rented one myself. Are these typically sold out pretty far in advance? I realize they aren't cheap ($3,000 for non-premium games), but the person I'm researching this for won't flinch at the price. Also, I recall the suite I was in being loaded with Heineken and some other premium products (not just Miller products). Was this extra or part of the package? Are there typically various food choices? When I went it was a variety (chicken fingers, brats, etc.), but I seem to recall the suite next to us eating Mexican. I also realize I can just call, I'd just like first hand consumer experiences before calling. Thanks.
  25. That would make one old dog. http://www.goodgifts.org/goodgifts/images/3008_dogs_retirement.jpg
