Looks like we won't be having any additional games this year.

It's game 162 and the scenarios for today's games in the NL west and wild card are very exciting. It could all be over today or we could have two 1 game playoff games. The scenarios are laid out here. I'm conflicted, because I have really enjoyed the 1 game playoff games in the recent past, but I'd like to see both the Giants and Braves advance which would mean there would be no 1 game playoff games.

I always enjoy watching Craig Counsell bat with 2 outs in the 9th inning. Like the last soldier standing on the battlefield fighting an unwinable battle. I'm in the mood for extra baseball.

What about it sounds strange? He is a sworn police officer for at least 15 years now. I haven't spoken to him in a while since I no longer live in Wisconsin, but his specialty was minor infractions like handicap parking. I'd rather not throw his name out there, but there is a nice archived article about him and parking violations on jsonline.com from January 1, 2005.

My uncle is a cop for the Milwaukee Police Department and for the past 3-4 years his entire job has consisted largely of writing tickets for people who park illegally in handicap parking spots. He told me about how proud he was of the money he was making for the city and how much he loves the feeling of catching someone doing this. So the precedence isn't entirely merit less, but it is only 1(!) person and he has worked numerous types of shifts in his 15+ year tenure with the Milwaukee Police. I'm sorry for your loss, but I (me personally) wouldn't dwell to much on the stolen iPod. The only way that this guy will likely be caught is if you find him and turn him in. You'll know to be more careful next time. I've had stuff stolen from me as well and the only time I actually caught someone was when I turned around and saw someone holding my wallet. I said, "That's mine" and snatched it back as he walked away.

I will be buying Fallout: New Vegas (subject to positive reviews) and maybe renting Fable III. This won't be a big fall for me. I read a yahoo article blaming the economy for a possible slow videogame season, but in my opinion there just aren't enough good releases this fall. I hope to be proven wrong.

Impressive start from Wolf. He took his ERA from 4.53 to 4.32 with one start. I wonder what it might look like without that terrible Pittsburgh game.

The problem is that going to college online means you will never see a girl like this during your 'college experience'. And you guys are crazy. If I have to suffer through commercials, they might as well all star attractive women.

The whole NBC Thursday lineup has gotten a bit stale for me. I'll still watch when I can, but 30 Rock and The Office have gone downhill from earlier seasons. Parks and Rec was the strongest show last season, but someone earlier mentioned that it's getting pushed back?

A little off topic, but I'm watching the Tampa Bay vs. Red Sox game in the background and Rick Sutcliffe says, "CC Sabathia has LITERALLY been worth his weight in gold". If gold is 1,253.00 per ounce and CC weighs 290 lbs. (4640 ounces), then if CC was entirely made out of pure gold he would be worth $5.8 million. So if CC has lived up to his $23 million contract, then indeed he is worth much more than his weight in gold. Of course if CC was made out of pure gold he probably wouldn't have much velocity on his fastball.

Thanks for all of the tips. I want to be clean cut every morning. I AM trying to pick up women and I feel more confident knowing my face is baby bottom smooth. I can't believe it never occurred to me to thoroughly dry off my blades after shaving. I'm going to give that a shot and see if I can get a few extra days out of them. If that doesn't do it I'm going to move on to a cheap electric and see what kind of a shave it gives me.

Good work Hoff. For all the people calling for his head in April, he was a class act and sat on the bench and pitched his way back into this role. He is a Hall of Famer for sure and I'm glad he was able to record a small fraction of the 600 with the team I root for.

The price for a 10 pack of Mach 3 turbo blades goes up every time I go to the store. I think I paid around $25 last time. It seems like I spend more on razor blades than on gasoline. The problem is that I like my Gillette Mach 3 way too much. I have been using the same handle that Gillette mailed me for free on my 16th birthday over 10 years ago. I have unsuccessfully tried cheaper brands and have even used my blades way longer than I should, but nothing beats a fresh Mach 3 blade. My question is if I should take the plunge and buy a high end electric razor? Will electric provide a really close shave like the Gillette? My facial hair grows in fairly thin and somewhat patchy, and I wonder if electric would be good for me. Is there a model people like? Is it worth it monetarily, or will it need to be replaced also?
