  1. I knew it was a bad idea to get excited about a 2-0 lead considering the pitchers.
  2. MLB.com link with story and video Check out Pat Listach come from the right side of the screen and smother Volstad. Crazy stuff.
  3. The '90s is full of bad band names. Neutral Milk Hotel Goo Goo Dolls Hootie and the Blowfish Hoobastank I really like The String Cheese Incident, but that is a horrible name that doesn't reflect their style at all.
  4. Because the Cardinals have good pitching? I like the Cubs logo, it's really well done. Stick it on a shirt and sell it at Miller Park
  5. Wow. I don't get to worked up over bad spelling, bad grammar or even overstated opinion, but when they start throwing out incorrect facts then it becomes a problem. How lazy do you have to be not to check how many games the Brewers have won in the series? This is your job.
  6. Don't say Macha doesn't have any good ideas.
  7. I'm not really a bobblehead kinda guy, but that Sabbathia bobble pose is fantastic. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/68715f9c8e67c63339378cedd30c8798adfbc5a.jpg
  8. Kemp really misplayed that ball and almost gave McGahee the inside the park HR.
  9. You can turn on ESPN2 to watch the last 2 outs. The Ranger announcers are superstitious. I love it. EDIT: The homeplate umpire is Jim Joyce fwiw
  10. Velvet Underground: Velvet Underground There are albums that I first listened to in high school that I can still put into the CD player and enjoy. VU:VU is my favorite of those. Then there are albums that I've enjoyed much more than that album more recently, but I don't necessarily think I will worship them as much in the future. Get back to me when I'm on my death bed and I will have a definitive answer.
  11. I would say Braun would be a no-brainer for Cardinal fans, but then does Holliday move to right? EDIT: I'm assuming that's why they didn't include Fielder, because his position is taken.
  12. Well said pebadger. I would love to see the birds lose a couple and give the Reds some breathing room.
  13. After the 3rd HR in a row, you have to be thinking, "There's no way this can happen again" Is anyone else using MLB.TV? "You want jersey? We have jersey! You want hat? We have hat!" has to be the most annoying thing they've ever played during commercial breaks. Even worse than when they used to have that floating logo.
  14. It was a pretty bad outing despite only 1 run. In the 4th inning he had the bases loaded with nobody out and got lucky with a line out and flyout. He also walked a total of 6. I've been a big supporter of Parra, but after the year is over it might be time to contemplate a move to the bullpen. He has 424 IP over 4 MLB seasons and his ERA is 5.28 and his WHIP is 1.657. He turns 28 in October and it's becoming harder to look at his potential based on minor league and peripheral stats and easier to evaluate his actual talent based on his performance over these last 4 years.
  15. Leake doesn't have a great shot at ROY, but this sure provides some good evidence as to why ERA shouldn't be relied on too heavily to judge a pitcher. Leake has 126 IP and this one scoring change lowers his ERA from 3.86 to 3.43.
  16. I think you need to keep Cain and Gamel toward the bottom of the lineup, at least until they prove they can produce in a full time role. Besides that it's far from a sure thing that Fielder will be traded anytime soon, but I wholly agree that Weeks needs to be kept in the #1 spot.
  17. All 4 of the outs that I've seen Cain hit have been made on good contact.
  18. Yup, those are definitely the socks, but that still doesn't explain these guys...... http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/7381589a8766cb3217b3080f71a1ab65743d2cc.jpg
  19. Cain's got some speed, but that ball just went right through his glove.
  20. I agree that Weeks isn't hanging over the plate like people suggest. The reason he gets hit so much is because he doesn't do much to avoid the baseball coming at him. If a ball is headed towards his torso he twists his body so that the ball hits him in the side or the back, where most players would duck or get out of the way.
