  1. I just got back from Germany 2 weeks ago. It's called Gehacktes over there. One of my favorite parts of touring Germany is stopping by my grandparrents house and eating it with them. It's a traditional dinner dish for them served up on a roll with mustard and onions. As an added bonus I got to enjoy it in front of my vegetarian sister. (I am evil).
  2. Prince's Homerless streaks of 8 of more games from last year: April 4th - April 19th -- 13games June 26th - July 6th -- 9 games July 14th - Aug 1st -- 18 games August 21st - September 1st -- 8 games He also had streaks of 8 games or more 8 times in 2006. EDIT: I guess it's been 9 games so far this season, but still.
  3. Nevermind, I'm going to the Cubs game.
  4. I agree, it's been tough to watch Gross in center so far, especially after some of the nice plays Gwynn made in the Cubs series. I hope Cameron's 25 games go quick.
  5. I'm watching a fuzzy MLB.TV, did that ball bounce off of Gabe's glove and over the fence?
  6. It'll be ok. We still have 4 innings to go.
  7. Neither did Bill or BA from the sound of it.
  8. Jenkins with a nice catch on ESPN2.
  9. The 1.2 MB feed of MLB.TV is way behind, but at least the quality is ramped up. I just refresh the thread after I see something imortant happen.
  10. Is it gone? He did have it for his last start.
  11. This is the guy McClung takes deep.
  12. Counsell, Gross and Kendall are all chasing a foul pop-up. The ball lands in the dugout, where all three of them gruesomely smash into each other and land on Mike Rivera who is sitting in the dugout. Dave Bush saves the day.
  13. I'm curious as to how they caught him. There is no test for HGH, correct? This is not for the future Andruw Jones replacement.
  14. That didn't go over so well. I'd still take that over "Sweet Caroline".
  15. Someone on this forum used to have an awesome flashing Ellis avatar. Probably one of my favorites. In related news, acid has been placed on the banned substances list and all players will be undergoing spinal taps.
  16. A walkoff jack on Coco would be a thing of beauty My fault.
  17. Yost making it interesting with the bullpen again this year. Good thing Brian Shouse is so gosh darned handsome.
  18. This game's got the makings of a classic.
  19. I miss the in-game chat. I just don't go there anymore since my new TV service is like 5 seconds behind everyone elses so I always find out what happens before I get the picture which really annoys me. I've got the same problem with MLB.TV. When the chat room explodes with "YESSSS!!!!!" and "OH BABY!" it kind of kills the moment for me.
  20. This reminds me of when I was younger and I would pretend it was my birthday to get free ice-cream around town. (Not to say your students are lying). Anyway today involved some bike riding, listening to the Huntsville game, watching a little of the Yankees and now watching Kansas/Memphis. It's a tough life.
  21. I just went to the store and bought mineral water and celery. The cashier looks at me and says, "In for an exciting night?".
  22. So it sounds like at the very worst we will have to contend with poor camera angles until the end of the NBA season. Hopefully though Trenni passes on the word to the direction crew to make an effort to improve the camera work before then. I also wonder if this new director has any MLB experience? By the way Trenni is the best! (Unless Erin Andrews is reading this)
  23. Because I do a lot of solo travel for my job, I attend a fair amount of baseball games by myself. Grab a scorecard and a beer and don't be afraid to chit-chat with those around you. It's not as fun as sharing the game with people you know, but definitely better than sitting at home and watching on TV. As an aside, if you are solo and watching a road game be courteous. I was in Denver watching the Brewers sweep the Rockies (in 2004 I think) and I got a little loud in front of some demoralized Rockies fans and they just about threw me out.
