  1. I'm in a Head to Head and a keeper league so far. I'd like to join a brewerfan yahoo league if it gets started. Send me a pm or e-mail me at quiet451@gmail.com if you get on going.
  2. That's funny stuff. I needed that after the Gallardo thread.
  3. TSN still has a salary cap league, you just have to pay $18 for it and it sounds like they got rid of their free version. I've tried to find a good salary cap alternative to TSN for the passed few years and I'd be curious to know also. In my opinion TSN was by far the best for salary cap, but even with the pay leagues, the quality of the game has deteriorated significantly over the years. It's a shame.
  4. Yeah, I'm not following you here. No telling us where it is in comparison to Cheyenne or Jackson Hole? Just Pinedale and Rawlins? Okay, that's cool, I have an atlas. Rock Springs is way bigger than both Pinedale and Rawlins. Having spent way to much time in all of those towns, I know you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who knows of Pinedale and not Rock Springs. That's like referencing Milwaukee's location via Fredonia or Astico. Anyway, I know you didn't write the directions splitter. I was raised and still live in Montana and I've never seen a cougar. I've seen dozens of bears and even a wolf, but never a cougar. I've even spoken to park rangers in Yellowstone and Glacier Park who have gone their whole careers without spotting one. Good luck to those in the area. Remember, if you see it be sure to curl up into a ball.......or run away screaming. One of the two will probably work, likely the one you didn't choose.
  5. For one period of time my record for sleeping is about 30 hours, but I was also extremely sick with a bad strain of the flu. It's a very strange feeling after you wakeup, to reflect on the entire day that you've missed. That day never occured in your life. I'm pretty sure sleeping is a very healthy activity, but I do hear about a lot of people dying in their sleep...... EDIT: It's 3:38 am, why am I up typing about sleep?
  6. I took the Amtrak out to Glacier Park from WI back in 2001 so I could work in Glacier Park for the summer without worrying about a car. I have nothing spectacular to say about the route, but I probably got off the train as soon as the scenery was starting to get good. I do think it is something that people should experience at least once. It's a lot less of a stress than driving or flying with the freedom of moving from car to car, however it takes longer than both of those other options. Also, it may have just been my luck, but I remember a man gettting extremely rowdy in the smoking section of the train and being kicked out at Havre, MT. That's something you don't really see in an airplane or your car.
  7. Lindy's 2008 Preview is already out, but I think they have finally hit rock bottom. The publication is littered with typos and misprints and some of the player information is recylced from last years publication. I won't go into gory detail on their Brewer's preview, but they have them ranked 2nd in the division behind the Cubs.
  8. Study abroad no questions asked!! You have to take those oppertunities while you can. I wouldn't worry about the student loans right now. I'm paying back 5 years of student loans including 2 semesters in Germany and I wouldn't ever take that experience away for any amount of money (well maybe not any amount). Also, I know that RAs differ from campus to campus, but there was no way I would RA at the dorm I stayed in (at Montana State University). The whole staff was very strict when it came to disipline. I got written up 13 times and kicked out of my dorm and into an adjacent dorm. There is no way I would want to be in their shoes, forced to hunt down their peers and police them for insignificant conduct violations. I just don't have the heart. I would also say that you shouldn't limit yourself to English speaking countries. Even with basic lessons in a foreign language, if you fully immerse yourself in the culture you will catch on fast enough.
  9. I will be no test subject. Reconsider. It was my favorite way to make cash in college. Sure I had to shave some weird areas of my body and use some funny smelling soaps, but for only an hour a week I got paid several hundred dollars.
  10. A few weeks back on XM radio they were interviewing the manager who took advantage of this back in the 70s before the rule existed. The year after he started this trend, the rule was enacted. If only I could remember who it was..........
  11. Glennron, obviously I'm making an assumption. I just don't picture Heath Ledger (a known drug abuser according to several friends, his ex-wife and a video tape) sitting on his bed with his pajamas, holding a glass of water and accidentally taking three instead of two Ambien. I'm not trying to take anything away from the guy personally, but he had 6 different prescription drugs in his system and as others have stated I don't think any right minded doctor would have allowed that to happen.
  12. He was abusing these drugs. The "accidental" comes from the fact that he wasn't trying to overdose. These were all drugs that are commonly abused recreationally. I might be wrong, but I see no mention that any of these drugs, aside from the sleeping pills, that were prescribed to him. On top of that according to Yahoo.com the police found a rolled up $20 bill next to his night stand. The man snorted a potent mixture prescription drugs and it killed him.
  13. My primary for Montana is on June 3rd. I've yet to vote in a primary, because the race is already decided by the time Montana comes around. My vote really doesn't count.
  14. Here's to keeping this one half the size of last year's. Especially challenging since we've got a month head start with this one.
  15. Some of the Coca-cola commercials were good, especially the one with Underdog and Stewie fighting over the floating Coke bottle and having Charlie Brown eventually nab it.
  16. Although not technically a fish, if you ever get a chance to try Humpback whale, don't pass it up. It's by far my favorite sea creature to nosh on. Just fry a steak in a pan with butter until medium rare, warmed through the middle. It's also really good with a red wine marinade.
  17. Well, I could stay a bit longer...
  18. Does Nintendo have a first party baseball game like Sony and MLB '08? I own an Xbox 360, but haven't been impressed with MLB2k6 or MLB2k7. I'm seriously thinking about buying another system to buy a baseball game that I can actually enjoy. I kind of want of PS3 anyway for the Blu-Ray.
  19. I haven't seen to many of his movies, but I saw him on Oprah promoting "Brokeback Mountain" and he seemed like a really genuine and sincere human being and I feel terrible for his family and especially his child. It seems to me as though this is a suicide and that is a damn shame.
  20. We should have an official "Milestone Post" thread where you can post your 100th, 1000th, 2000th, etc. post.
  21. Wow, I must be the only one in the world still playing a launch Xbox 360. Here are my favorites: Mass Effect Bioshock Ghost Recon Kameo Viva Pinata Catan (Xbox Live) Uno (Xbox Live)
  22. I put down the toothpaste container this morning and somehow some of the toothpaste went into my eye. I laughed at this earlier, but then it happened to me. Worse than lemon juice. I need goggles.
  23. I missed this thread earlier and I just want to add that XM radio is probably the best purchase I've made in the last year. Honestly, between the music, news, comedy and MLB channels I sometimes sit in my car listening after I've reached my destination. I travel a lot for my job (45,000 miles last year) so maybe it's more made for guys like me, but I can't even imagine going back to regular radio at this point. Even the offseason radio is great MLB coverage. They were at the winter meetings recently and would interview whoever walked past the booth (GMs, trainers, owners, players, etc.). You get to hear a lot of great interviews from Charlie Steiner, Kevin Kennedy, Rob Dibble, Holden Kushner, Eric Byrnes, the Ripken Brothers, Chuck Wilson, Jeff Joyce and others. Do yourself a favor and get it. In fact, I can recommend a friend for XM and they pay only $6.99 a month. If you want the discount code e-mail me at quiet451@gmail.com. I'll give it to the first person who e-mails me to be fair.
