  1. I'm not gonna lie. The thought of Melvin trading Gamel keeps me up at night (unless it's for somebody like Lincecum of course).
  2. I had a feeling Gamel and LaPorta would switch spots. Gamel is certainly deserving of the top spot though. I imagine Jeffress is a millimeter away from jumping to number 3 ahead of Escobar too.
  3. Wow, Gamel has his average back up to around .380 and also collected his 70th RBI of the season. Also nice to see Jeffress with another great outing.
  4. Pathetic effort today. Off to Arizona we go.
  5. Whoa! No game thread yet? Figured I'd start one before the game starts.
  6. The Brewers hitters are famous for scoring early runs and then doing nothing the rest of the game while slowly allowing the other team to get back into it. I hope this isn't one of those games.
  7. Sorry if this has been discussed already, but has anybody heard what kind of an injury Brantley had and how bad it is?
  8. Mike Cameron and Joe Dillon stink. Dillon should never start again. Call up Brad Nelson and see what he can do.
  9. Looks like Brantley might have gotten hurt. Anybody know what happened?
  10. Wow, 9 hits through 5 innings for the Cardinals and no runs.
  11. I just don't like Jeff Suppan. Even when he's decent, I still don't like him. I wish he would just go away. Forever.
  12. Wow, the NL East is really struggling right now. Nice to gain some games on these teams.
  13. Is this the first time this year LaPorta has played first base?
  14. Let the Alcides Escobar era begin perhaps?
  15. 2 rbi's so far tonight for Gamel puts him over 50 for the season. 37 extra base hits as well.
  16. 1. Gamel (Hard to ignore the ridiculous numbers he's putting up) 2. LaPorta (The recent slump bumps him down below Gamel, but he'll be just fine) 3. Escobar (We all know about his stellar defense, but his offense is the big surprise so far) 4. Salome (Don't know about his defense, but he can sure hit with the best of them) 5. Brantley (For such a young guy playing in AA, he's certainly holding his own and then some)
  17. Salome and Gamel already with 3 hits, 2 doubles, and 2 rbi's between them against a fairly good pitcher tonight for Mobile.
  18. Batting around .380 53 games into the season, you'd think that Gamel's average would gradually decrease. Nope. It's actually increasing. Just incredible. Nice to see Brantley with the homer and Escobar having another great game at the plate.
  19. I think I've come to the realization that Ned Yost will never get fired, so why not call up one of the awesome prospects from Huntsville (Gamel, LaPorta, Escobar) and try to shake things up a little bit that way?
  20. Wow, nice to see Escobar bump his average over .300. Also, I haven't seen any errors in the box score for Gamel in a long time it seems like. Salome continues to rake as well.
  21. Why not give Steve Hammond a shot? He's got pretty good numbers in Huntsville this year. Anybody but Dave Bush please.
  22. Ugh! Oh well, we always have Huntsville to look forward to.
