  1. I don't think so, since the Brewers don't play tomorrow!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  2. The guy cruised through the first 5 innings giving up 3 hits and no runs. What else did you want Yost to do? I'm sure nobody was warming up, nor was there a need to, until after the first walk. How much quicker did you want him pulled?
  3. According to the latest vote totals, Prince has passed Pujols as leading vote getter at 1B. This is on mlb's website.
  4. Has Weeks even been activated yet? I know that he's supposed to come off the DL today, but haven't seen anything official.
  5. I was looking at the Cubs lineup today, and there is only one player on their team that I would take over our current starters. I would take Soriano over Menchkins in left. The only other spots that could be close are Barrett over Estrada, or Ramirez (on DL) over Braun. I would call it a push at 1B between Lee and Fielder, although a good argument could be made that Lee is the better all around player than Fielder. As far as pitching staffs, I think the Brewers have a slight edge in SP, and a fairly large edge in the bullpen. I also think the Brewers are a deeper team than the Cubs. So, overall, it looks like the Brewers control their own destiny. The Brewers have the better team, now they must prove it on the diamond.
  6. It's kind of funny. Everyone on here holds Leyland in high regard, as they should. However, if you go check out the Tigers board on espn, all the Tigers fans are calling for his head. It must be a universal thing for fans to irrationally call for the firing of a manager when a team is struggling, even if they are in first place, or just went to the World Series.
  7. Cubs are outhitting the Mariners 9-2, but losing 4-3. The Mariners last rally all started when Marquis hit Weaver with a pitch, then walked Ichiro on 4 straight pitches.
  8. And what exactly was the baserunning blunder? Just by listening to Uek's call, it sounded like Jenkins did what he was supposed to do, but the Tigers played it perfectly for the double play. Would you rather have Jenkins run straight into Infante, and make it an easier DP?
  9. The best part about Sheets starting today, is that he doesn't have to try and hit!
  10. So, you want them to bat 1-4-7. That's spread out. Counsell got called out on a bogus 3rd strike in the 1st. His 2nd at-bat was one of the harder hit balls all game. If there was no runner on first, it probably gets down the line for a double or triple. They said Braun's had some discomfort in the wrist, and could have played. However, management thought it would be best to give him a 2nd day off, especially since they were facing one of the best righties in the game. No big deal.
  11. The announcers said that Braun has a sore wrist, nothing serious. They just wanted to give him an extra day off.
  12. If people on here were managing the Brewers, Fielder, Hardy, Braun, and Hart would all start 162 games and get over 600 at-bats. Also, Cordero would have about 130 appearances and 200 innings pitched. The problem with Brewers teams of the past, were that they were very thin. The regulars had to play almost every day, and they wore out or got injured. I think Yost has done a great job of getting everyone playing time, and keeping guys fresh. For all the talk about lineup switches, it has actually been pretty consistent. Weeks, Hardy, Braun, Fielder, Estrada, Menchkins, Hart, Counsellino, Pitcher. The only changes have been due to injuries and/or giving a guy a day off. But, for the most part, every player has consistently hit in the same spot when they've played.
  13. That's great news if this happens every other inning. It means the Brewers had 8 batters in the 1st inning, and 6 batters in the 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th. That would mean quite a few runs!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  14. Counsell is 3rd on the team in OBP (Prince and Hart). Last time he hit leadoff, he was on base 4 out of 7 at-bats. Graffy is hitting over .400 in his last 10 games, including 4 hits last game. Could I live with this lineup every day? Definitely not. Can I put up with it for one night? Absolutely. As for Braun out of the lineup, that's not a huge deal either. I don't believe he has sat out any games since he came up. Tonight, they are facing one of the best righties in the game. Not a bad time for a night off.
  15. By this reasoning, Braun should be moved out of the 3 hole as well. He is GIDP's at twice the rate of Estrada. Estrada - 7 DP's / 192 Plate appearances = 3.65% Braun - 4 / 53 = 7.55% That doesn't even include plate appearances with nobody on base. Not that I'm saying either should, or should not, be moved right now, but I'm just saying that moving them based on DP threat is rather ridiculous.
  16. Yes, I was being quite sarcastic. Sorry if you didn't catch that. The team has definitely had it going good all year so far.
  17. If only WV could improve on their pathetic 19-10 home record. They should get it more in line with their 20-6 road record.
  18. We're supposed to find joy in being 6.5 games in first place at the end of May. For May, we were what 14-14?, and we gained ground on everyone. How did we do this? Because we didn't lose any ground when we lost. Does it make the Brewers any better? Definitely not. But it does give the Brewers more room for error over there remaining games.
  19. If it's not a keeper league, I would definitely keep Vlad. He is the best player in the deal. I'm sure there are plenty of guys who will put up as good, or better, numbers than Braun this year that are on the waiver wire.
  20. Hart played quite regularly in April. He has only been used sparingly lately because of his wrist injury. I'm guessing that he is healthy now, and therefore will be back to regular playing time.
  21. If Inman is the Brewers 3rd best pitching prospect, who is #2?
  22. I am also of the opinion that Counsell will start at 3rd tonight. Give Braun a day off, against a tough righty, to catch his breath.
  23. I found 5 pre-season homers for him. Not sure if he had any more. Here were the pitchers: Oakland - S. Dunn; J. Windsor SF - R. Meaux LAA - E. Santana Cubs - R. O'Malley Santana seems to be the only big name of the bunch.
  24. You'd have to add Rogers and Jefferes to the list as well.
  25. You beat me to it bthurley19. I was about to do the same. Guess I'll take the triple, so that he's only a single away from the Moeller... I mean cycle.
