  1. This has been posted in the minor league coaching thread as well. I think it makes sense to promote Don Money with Salome and Gamel to AAA.
  2. All we have to do is win one game in tomorrow's doubleheader and we are still two games up. Assuming we do, I believe we've only lost 3 games of our lead on September 1st, which isn't that bad. Prediction: We scrape out a win in game one tomorrow, but lose the nightcap. Then on Tuesday and Wednesday Sabathia and Sheets take care of business, bringing us back to a 3 game lead with 10 to play, 6 of which are at home verse Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. Its going to be so much sweeter when we clinch that we had to go through this past week.
  3. Wow, surprising, but make sense if they want to promote Money along with Salome and Gamel to AAA next season, maybe Brantley too.
  4. The only way Hardy probably moves positions is if it goes hand in hand with a 5 year extention at short stop money. I think its pretty obvious the Brewers need to make some type of trade to shore up the rotation for next season. I think there's a couple different options they can dangle, and whatever yields the best net gain, Melvin will take. Speculating on who's the one(s) that should go is rather inaccurate when you're adding speculation of what they could net on the market on top of that. There are two great things about the Brewer's situation right now - organizational depth (catchers, two SS, plethora of OF options), and money coming off the books.
  5. Email sent from sbrylski06@yahoo.com
  6. Yup!
  7. Holy cow - 545! I caught some great "rocket alleys."
  8. Yeah, the music is hilarious. I got 280 late last night.
  9. Flight of the Hampsters Hit the rockets, height is not necessarily good. My best single fly so far is 191.
  10. As long as we don't get swept, we'll still exit up at least 2 games. Its important, but we could go 1-3 and still be in okay shape, albeit worse. Unless the suddenly "tied with the Phillies" Astros win stretch their 5 game streak to 9, that is.
  11. I've read a few dated articles about supposedly the rebirth of the old ABL. They say few details have been released. Does anyone know anything about this? I know they expanded their annual Claxton Shield to a home-away pool play format last year, supposedly to help gear up for a legit league/season. Is it still on? Would it be something MLB teams might assign some minor leaguers? (I've read they will/may fund the league in part.) I'm going off bits an pieces of info here, I figured where better to ask for a fuller picture.
  12. Yeah, that's not even close to saying the Indians have selected Brantley.
  13. Guys, making it close will only make the day we clinch that much sweeter!
  14. CC is now listed on Brewers.com to be pitching on both the last game of the Cincy series as well as the first game of the Phillies series. Obviously he won't pitch in both, but it looks like they may indeed push him back into that series. EDIT: I realize it also may not mean anything.
  15. Lowe will probably get too many years though. He turns 36 next year, and someone will give him a 4 year deal if he really wants it. I wouldn't want the Brewers to go longer than 2 with a year 3 option.

  18. Yeah, the team shot in '08 was funny.
  19. If it is indeed conditional, I would guess that agent Josh knows who the Indians would be picking, as its more likely the Brewers make the playoffs. (And the Brewers probably wouldn't tell the player and agent that they're the one they value least, when its likely they won't be picking the PTBNL anyway.) So speculating, the Indians will take on of Josh's clients - not Lucroy - and was already contacted by the Indians about it. If we miss the playoffs, it could be someone else.
  20. 4th in HR/9 among relievers with more than 30 innings in 2008.1st in HR/FB.
  21. FYI, Sacramento leads all minors in attendance, so I always thought that would be a good location for a new team. And then Jersey. (Though I've also read studies that conclude there are zero locations for a new successful baseball team.) 8 Divisions of 4.
  22. Everyone used to be a Brewer killer.
  23. Jim Powell and nobody.
  24. I wouldn't be opposed to nine game series' and going back to 154 game regular season.
  25. Isn't 'bison' is both singular and plural, like 'fish' or 'deer'? Of those 5, I think Barons would be the coolest. Especially if they could acquire Baron Davis. That's what I thought too, but there's Buffalo Bisons in the International League, who have been around forever.
