  1. We are the Milwaukee Brewers. We carry low batting averages, strike out a lot, don't field, and hit monster blasts and watch them go.
  2. Oh, I know, just piling onto the CC is Branyan-esque. And I think its awesome that he's the CG leader in the NL right now, given PT. EDIT: Said acronym man.
  3. 2008 NL Complete Game Leaderboard Sabathia - 3 Sheets - 3 Cook - 2 Hamels - 2 Kuroda - 2 Webb - 2 (A bunch tied with 1)
  4. I'm absolutely loving JJ Hardy right now, but I think I have to agree. I think his trade value will surprise a lot around here. I could go out on a limb and say it might be as great as Fielder's if he keeps up what he's doing. (And Fielder doesn't boost his numbers by the end of the season.)
  5. I just think moving Gamel to the OF is a waste. Players who can't even play the OF play 1B. It is on the far left of the defensive spectrum. It is more of a waste to move him to first base than a corner outfield spot, though the difference isn't too big. Fit him in where we need him, if he can't handle 3rd.
  6. More on his bunt single, I'd say. Taking what the defense gives you, taking what the pitcher gives you, and hitting the baseball 450 feet are all included under the umbrella phrase of playing the right way. Sportswriters seem to overlook the latter too often.
  7. Reggie Miller, NBA Jam Geinke's 54 mph curveball in MVP '05 and Halladay's palmball are pretty amazing pitches.
  8. Well, "One-Out" is because most often you don't have left handed batters back to back. With a guy who can only get righties out, he can still go two or three batters at times. Therefore, I would call the role a RAMCOAPGY (pronounced ram-COAP-gee): Righty As Many Consecutive Outs As Possible GuY
  9. I know someone who very recently tore their ACL (sports related) and the doctor said they would have a 2% chance of tearing that ACL again, and a 10% chance of tearing the other one due to overcompensation. I would definitely like to see Gallardo back in some role by the playoffs, be it closer, setup, long relief or starter, but I want 100% assurance that he's fully healed and won't be compensating for it. Which I think will be quite doubtful.
  10. I agree. The tape itself was sad and disappointing, but that doesn't prevent it from being funny at the same time. The best line I thought was "Is there a difference between being asleep at the wheel and passed out? If you're saying passed out I will challenge that."
  11. I have tan sheets. I sleep in them. Aren't blankets supposed to keep you warm? Isn't that their purpose?
  12. Can we change the title of the thread so I don't think it is for Street?
  13. Does everyone remember this guy? Its a long recovery from TJ surgery, but has there been any progress reports lately? It feels like I haven't heard his name in ages.
  14. Who needs a 13,322 square foot living space? I can see owning two or three homes if you are super rich, but what would you do with 13,000 square feet of indoors?
  15. Dush has a .213 BABIP, a 79.7 LOB%, and 4.8% HR/FB. He's quite good, but he's not really pitching any differently than he has in the past, and is going to come to earth (his usual ~3 ERA) soon. Street is at least as good - I'd love whichever one costs less.
  16. Package roughly equivalent to Green+Braddock+Fermaint?
  17. Geremi Gonzalez didn't work out for the club, and the G it didn't work out for him either.
  18. That's where I ended up getting them.
  19. I would have taken LaPorta over Gamel too, easy. Gamel's defense isn't ready for meaningful games, and LaPorta is probably the better hitter as of right now.
  20. I am not materialistic at all (what's the opposite of materialistic?), so I wouldn't want stuff for it really. I don't really have a desire to just meet a guy, I've got nothing to say to him. I'd probably just give it back for the tickets. (Though a job or internship in the front office would be awesome, or even just an interview...)
  21. I've used Soy Bomb a few times, inspired by this guy: Security didn't catch on right away, apparently. The guy was making some weird art statement or something. (BTW, good nickname for Prince Fielder...)
  22. I know its just rookie ball, but Efrain Nieves nice start could possibly have gotten a quick shout in the pitching section. K's are slightly down, but he ain't walking anyone so far. But good job guys, good read.
  23. What ever happened to predictability? The milk man, the paper boy, evening T.V You miss your old familiar friends, but waiting just around the bend!!!
  24. I will, and its still on the docket. I made some headway, but then hit some snags, and shelfed it until the new release. The new release is here, so maybe I'll pick this up again. My free time is quite sporadic.
