  1. I see them putting a 4 year 80-82 million dollar deal on the table for either one of them... Hopefully CC.... You might think I'm nuts, but if Mark A signed off on 22 million this season for Cam(8 mil), Gagne(10 mil), and Cappy(3.75 mil) I'm willing to bet he would make a deal to a plyer of their caliber. I think you're nuts for thinking one of them would do anything but laugh at that offer.
  2. Joe Morgan is behind about 26 members here that I would go to for analysis first.
  3. Sheets is more signable, and just as good. If there's a way to get a 5th year as a team option rather than guaranteed, we have to ink it.
  4. Nobody knows who the other players are yet except for the teams. Thats a bad report. I sure hope your right. As soon as Lucroy touches AA, his status skyrockets past the likes of Brantley and Green, probably Salome too.
  5. If you can accept the fact that your team isn't going to make the postseason this year, its extremely hard to argue against LaPorta+2 more to be worse than 2 comp picks. If I were a Cleveland fan first, I would be as happy as you could be on the day your team gives up on the season.
  6. But there's also the chain reaction. This should send a better pitcher to the bullpen, and also CC will suck up a few bullpen innings. I think we could see another 2-3 wins from a better bullpen too. (Not 20-30 runs saved, but 5-6 very important runs in high leverage situations that win us ballgames.)
  7. It was previously listed as someone else? If so...exciting!
  8. I have a Bob McClure jersey from the early 80's.
  9. I'm thinking the rejected report simply comes from the offer being made two days ago and still not accepted. I don't think its necessarily rejected, just the Indians stupidly trying to make it seem like it will take another piece, but could (and should) jump on it yet by the end of today. DM went all in to get it done ASAP, Sharpiro. This offer isn't a point to start negotiating from.
  10. Matt Cain is a plan B? What? If Matt Cain is available, I'd prefer him over C.C. and it's not even close. Cain is signed for three more years. Pure speculation.
  11. An interesting note that I haven't seen posted: Fangraphs.com has a trade value ranking, and Fielder is at #30. (Braun at #20) Pitchers surrounding Fielder: 27 - Haren 29 - Shields 31 - Chamberlain 32 - Kershaw I'd like to think that Gallardo was very close to making that list, especially if he wasn't on the DL.
  12. I like the fact that we have a time sensitive offer. I was thinking that we might, but I'm guessing the Indians won't take the deadline too seriously and would expect DM to maintain most of his offer up to the deadline.
  13. That Dodgers rumor is quite bunk. I'm going to bed, so rest assured, the trade will go down in about 5 minutes.
  14. I think its pretty ridiculous to expect them to sink 50% of our payroll into two players. We should all be thrilled if we keep one.
  15. D'oh!!! The Dodgers are also now in the CC mix. C'mon Doug do not let him get away. Give them an extra piece if you have to. Exactly what most of us are afraid of. Its borderline as it is, and extra piece would suck.
  16. I think he is great in his 2 inning middle reliever role. I like him pitching in closer games, and I like him sucking up the innings that usually end up going to lesser pitchers in higher leverage situations.
  17. Is there going to be anything more to say when this deal actually go through? We'll all say the same things we've already said here, only it won't be speculation anymore.
  18. I'm glad we are all expecting the worst in terms of prospects we'll give. It gives us a chance to be pleasantly surprised. All Star Presser............ announce CC trade, Sheeter signs a 5 year $100M deal, Hart 5 years $40M Get er done I'm with you. Its going to be on Mark to either cough up the money for Sheets/CC, otherwise we need to take a half step back and retool and regroup for a year or two.
  19. Definitely an option, but I need them in like 2 hours...
  20. We need to slow down, I can't keep up with the reading! 6 pages since midnight, and one two half rumors... That, and one of the 5 plus one outside the 5 plus one lower level for Sabathia and Perez, yes please. ----- Continued from: viewtopic.php?p=389383#p389383 Original Lead: viewtopic.php?t=13578
  21. I finally got my bean bag tossers built, seems like the thing to do these days while tailgating. I want to play tomorrow on the 4th, but I need to buy the bags yet. What types of chain stores might sell them? (I'm in Green Bay, if that makes a difference.)
