  1. I hope nobody ignores me! At least some things I say make sense!
  2. I have to agree with Braun taking over #1. With all the concerns about his defense, he's been playing wonderfully down there. I believe yesterday he committed just his 2nd error. Not to mention he has to wear thicker batting gloves or else his skin would melt off from the intense heat of his bat. Its hot. I like Ford, but I think we can chalk up his high average to a smallish sample. His K's are just as high as last season, and his BABIP is an unreal .523. I just want to see him keep walking. I was curious to see where Braddock was going to debut, and he's where I would have put him as well. Another month like this one and he could be up another 10 spots, but I think he'll regress at least a little.
  3. Doug Davis pitching a gem right now ... ... ... However, losing 1-0 in the 7th He just doesn't have what it takes to win. Good thing we traded him.
  4. I actually don't think we should be trying to trade for Harden. I'd rather keep a balanced system so we have guys replacing the guys we lose. Packaging a few of our better prospects together for a big league pitcher will just leave us with less players to replace more.
  5. Wise has proven that he cannot pitch well in back to back days, and certainly not 3 days in a row. I've heard this before, but what is this based on? Has there ever been a quote from Matt or Yost about him not preferring to go back to back days? Career 2005 2006 Rest PA OPS PA OPS PA OPS ------ --- ---- -- ---- -- ----- 0 Days 55 .666 27 .379 9 1.125 1 Day 161 .637 47 .244 68 .900 2 Days 172 .828 84 .831 39 .720 3 Days 129 .598 46 .578 22 .377 4 Days 227 .661 27 .413 7 .857 Last season he struggled a bit without rest, but it was just the opposite in 2005. For his career, he looks pretty balanced.
  6. For example, good, consistent starting pitching and a very good back end of the bullpen will get you a lot of 3-1 and 4-2 victories. Then, when a starting pitcher falters and you bring in a long guy who isnt very good, maybe you lose 9-3 or 10-1. You'd pile on a bunch of 2-3 run wins and then have a 5-6 run loss and be about even. This is similar to what I posted in a different thread. I'm not worried about our run differencial.
  7. I think Jackson is the best we have to offer in the higher minors. Nobody will want Jenkins or Mench, and I don't want to trade Gross.
  8. Oof. Fielder was so close. Sucks to get nothing there.
  9. If he keeps up what he's doing right now he might find himself competing for a spot on our bench next year, if he wants to stick around. You might be able to compare him to Gabe Gross, as a high pick who somewhat fell out of favor with his parent club. During his good years, Nelson has carried a very tasty OBP, but unlike Gross he hits LHP very well. But as for trade bait, he'd be a throw in just like Gabe was. I'm interested to see if Nelson continues his hot April. I'll be watching the box scores for him.
  10. Later tomorrow tonight, I think we'll get crushed.
  11. If we don't get rained out, I'll bet we get crushed today.
  12. Doug, I'd guess it was just a 2-seamer.
  13. Like I always say, nearly every time I question a move of Ned's with the bullpen or pinch hitting, I later read that there was a very good reason for it. Man, am I up and down on Yost. I was pissed the other night during the Aquino blow up, but Ennder talked me down and some other recent moves now have me thinking Yost is doing a really good job so far.
  14. Man oh man. PINCH HIT! I retract my vent. Turns out Hart was unavailable.
  15. Pitchleague, I've also noticed his shoulder shrug before heading home is much smaller this year.
  16. Thanks T-Bow, got me another save in fantasy!
  17. Winman sounds great to me!
  18. Hell of a game tonight! How good was Suppan! Like I said, I would have been happy to get 6 innings out of him. He went 8 without a run scored, nice!
  19. A seven or eight-inning outing would be reeaally nice from Suppan tonight. With those splits, I'll be happy to see 6.
  20. Would you say Cubs fans are starting to respect the Brewers a little more over the past few years? A few years ago, it was a one-sided rivalry. Its starting to feel two-sided, because the Cubs are starting to get pissed off.
  21. It's not an emotion game like football or hockey, where you can go bust some skulls. Link...
  22. That's only because I crushed you Sam. We will meet again. BTW, so far I'm 1-0 when I post that statement...
  23. I have a feeling we are going to get crushed.
