  1. Another example are the "remain calm/don't jump off the bridge" that seem to crop up whenever a thread pops up calling out a player or manager. Put it in the sig! (see below)
  2. I know that whenever I make a post I like to have others say that they agree or whatnot, obviously it is nice if they state their opinion as well, but how boring would it be if someone starts a "Brewers Win The World Series!!!" thread and no one comments because they all agree that it was sweet and no comments need to be made, now obviously that is a stretch, but hopefully you get the idea. That would be pretty funny. Maybe we should go post our: YAHOOOOO!'s on the Brewers.com board, just to save a couple bucks over here.
  3. Gangland. Hands down the best worst movie ever. I'm not kidding. See it now. Review: Seriously. It is horribly amazingly good.
  4. I would think Darren Ford would be a better comparison to Tony Gwynn. But Darren Ford could totally waste Gwynn in a race.
  5. How good are people around here? I played a few weeks a couple months ago, and I was something like 2 notes away from a perfect score at Jessica on expert. That was probably my most impressive feat. I always play on expert though.
  6. Chris Carpenter won a Cy Young award. If Dave Bush wins a Cy Young award, by all means, I owe you a beer. Deal. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. Slow Ride! Take it easy!
  8. Honestly, I think you're in Bush defense mode. I like him a lot too, but he's expendable, and no one's going to want Vargas. I'm practically in love with Bush, I suppose. And for sake of argument, why wouldn't Bush translate into a good pen arm? (Not that I ever want to see him pulled from the rotation.) Someone would take Vargas. Plenty of teams could use him. Send him to Baltimore for one of their relievers or something. I just see so much potential in Dave Bush. Chris Carpenter type potential. I think it would be a huge mistake to trade him, and right now would be one of the worst times to do that.
  9. Trading Bush makes sense as he has more trade value than Vargas. What do we need that's so expensive? I say keep the better player, trade the lesser for the role player that fills a hole.
  10. Trading Bush now makes nil sense. Trade Vargas, the guy with the ERA over his head, not the "underpreforming" pitcher in Bush.
  11. You should have gotten a Kevin Mench jersey.
  12. The "White Painting" was actually a cow in a grassy field. But the cow finished eating all the grass, so he left.
  13. Imagine had they all panned out: CF Krynzel SS Hardy 2B Weeks 1B Fielder LF Nelson 3B Braun RF Hart C Cap'n Lou Super UTIL - Bill Hall I'll take 6 out of 9ish.
  14. Why does everyones lineup have Gwynn in it? O yeah, I forgot, he's suddenly good now.
  15. the brewers have no logical lead-off hitter other than gwynn. Weeks bats lead-off, but tha t position is not reall y where he should be batting Weeks, Gross and Hart are all better options to leadoff than Gwynn, IMO. There is nothing wrong with Weeks batting first. As long as he carries a high OBP, 20-some HRs out of the leadoff spot is totally acceptable, it should be a goal.
  16. Today I saw a small shop that sells invisible fences for dogs, it said so on the sign. Then, below the sign, the changeable letter sign read "What fence?" I thought that was funny, and it has to do with dogs.
  17. The Yankees aren't going to give Abreu away. Even if they would take just prospects, they would probably ask for Gallardo, or at least Inman plus others. I don't see it happening at all.
  18. So what's the matter with putting them up there while they are doing what you need up there? Mench's success early this year gave him playing time and now he's not playing as much. Small sample which helped the team so why is this different? Because having a good week last week doesn't make it anymore likely that the player will do good the next week. Take your Kevin Mench. He did well, so we played him more and he struggled. A hot streak can end at any time, so you can't assume the player will play well that night. This week, Counsell is more likely to hit for his career average OBP of ~.345 than his last weeks ~.410 or whatever it was.
  19. OBP skyrockets Gross and Counsell and indentifies people who criticize Ned for putting those two up top as non-OBP readers or believers. That's harsh. Its the small samples and projected OBP's for Counsell and Gwynn that have people criticizing Ned for putting them two up top. I don't believe their rates are sustainable.
  20. That's sweet, see if you can take it off the wall. It's bolted to the wall or something, can't get it off the wall. I thought the question was pretty funny, then the answer had me really laughing. Not sure why, but I think its because I can't think of a reason to take it off the wall. Can't make it out. Looks like Scribble-scribble 10. He makes a lot of paintings.
  21. No votes for RedbirdRay yet? What about Brewersdad? With respect to Russ, I'll go with Ennder as GM.
  22. Al, they likely will move Mench. I wouldn't say its likely, maybe most likely of all our outfielders. Its very hard to match up with a team, and then agree on compensation.
  23. Say DM is retiring. Say Attanasio comes here and asks us to decide on the new GM. But, we have to pick a member of this site. Who would you pick? (No voting for yourself.) I'll chime in with my answer later.
