  1. Then why aren't you there with a group of 1,000+ to make sure fewer White Sox fans aren't there?
  2. Might be a silly reason, but I wonder if Tyrone Taylor was originally slotted to start in CF and bat 4th and they just subbed in Jace?
  3. So by saying that you feel he feels threatened by Love? That was my previous point. No, it isn't being threatened, it is investing the team's most valuable draft asset on something that doesn't currently help the team that he is currently on that is a very small step away from the very top. It is 2020, QBs come out of college more ready to play right from the get-go than ever before. There is 0 reason to draft a QB and let them develop more than a year in today's NFL (unless it is like a Round 3 or later pick). Drew Brees skills had deteriorated so much, but did NO go and draft his successor in the 1st round? No, they picked up vet backups, and whatever you want to call T. Hill, and they kept investing into the team to give them the best chance to succeed. He retires, and now they have Jameis and T. Hill. Yeah, maybe it doesn't work out with those 2 QBs, but then they can go ahead and draft a QB next year. That's the path the Packers should have gone while extending its current window as much as possible. Why would a QB like Rodgers, coming off of a MVP season, want to enter the next season on a lame-duck contract? F that. He deserves to have a contract that guarantees he will be with his team more than 1 more season, rather than this crap where they can basically move on from him scot-free after the 2021 season. If they're so insistent moving on from him, just do it now. He is owed that much, he's a 3 time MVP.
  4. Shameless. Series finale was tonight, man I'm going to miss that show.
  5. Well, right now Jrue's playing a little over 30 a game and he's missed about a third of the season. I'm guessing the Bucks are going to b be looking real hard and trying to pick up another PG But even during those 30 minutes a game he plays, he doesn't bring up the ball more than 50% of those possessions. I would even venture to say that number is a lot closer to 33%, because Giannis and Khris bring the ball up so often. They need to find someone who can play defense, hit an open 3, and possibly create their own shot regardless of position.
  6. How often does Jrue actually bring the ball up? Giannis and Khris bring the ball up a ton. In the playoffs, will probably see Jrue play 36-40 minutes a game, so those 8-12 minutes he isn't playing, one of Giannis or Khris will probably be bringing up the ball during that time.
  7. What are the chances Jones sits out if he's tagged on 1year/$8M? I feel like there's a better than 50/50 chance he sits out than plays on that contract.
  8. Drafting at 15, 32, and 50 could/should be a nice shot in the arm with an influx of talent, I sure hope they keep that pick.
  9. Why is Portis a jerk? He also punched a teammate in the face and broke his face, former Buck Nikola Mirotic when they were with the Bulls. https://www.sbnation.com/2017/10/18/16497832/bobby-portis-suspended-apology-bulls-fight-nikola-mirotic
  10. Seattle is not in any position to trade for Hader. Flat out just won't. Great analysis. Just won't. I mentioned adding Peralta in order to get Kelenic. So what's holding them back? Just won't got it. because teams coming off of a .450 winning percentage season following a 68 win season don't trade top top top end prospects for a closer already in arbitration.
  11. "The experts" have been wrong about just about everything Covid related, so I won't be following their advice, no. Virus is not spread by human/human contact. (When it was already proven it does.) Virus is not spread airborne. Facemasks do not help. Facemasks DO help prevent spreading to others, but doesn't protect you. Facemasks DO protect you as well. No way will vaccine be ready by the end of the year. Denmark completed the largest randomized controlled study of masks. Result? They don't work. Same thing WHO found in 2019. But results of the Denmark study will never be made public, because politics come before public health. Covid-19 is spread from symptomatic people coming into contact with others. Can someone who's asymptomatic or presymptomatic spread it, sure, probably. But largely unproven, especially the chance of spread. So take precautions, of course. But there's no reason not to have Thanksgiving and Christmas. And it is thanks to people like you, that people like me won't be seeing their families for the holidays.
  12. Giants just hit a leadoff HR to start the bottom of 8th. now losing 5-4
  13. Considering where he was projected to go and who is agent is, I'm surprised they just haven't signed him for the $4,207,215, shake hands, and be done with it. Both sides should be incredibly happy with that deal (Brewers for getting a perceived top 10 guy coming into the draft, Mitchell for getting $4M freaking dollars....)
  14. Cam's injury was to his shoulder, I don't think he's lost any of his athleticism. The biggest issue(aside from the car accident) was a result of him playing through injuries. He sat out all last year. He's 31, I think he'll be fine. As for him not working in NE, Belichek is the master of changing his system to best suit his players and...as you said, McDaniels got the Broncos to the playoffs(where they won a game) with Tebow at QB. I thought he missed 2019 because of a foot or ankle injury?
  15. Leave the original post up, but delete mine, cool. I'll go back to just reading. Thanks
  16. https://www.rotoworld.com/baseball/mlb/player/17798/andres-blanco nice work! rotoworld sourced this thread for their info on Brewers releases
  17. Got it, thanks, I didn't know this. I don't really understand the NFL cap whatsoever.
  18. San Francisco was about ~8 minutes away from winning the Super Bowl last year with Garoppolo ($26.6M cap hit) taking up 12.87% of their cap. In 2016 Tom Brady signed a contract that was worth an average of over $20M/year when the salary cap was $155M. I don't have the info of exactly what the cap hit was each year, but that average salary was over 13% of their cap. That's not much different than a $30M cap hit on a $200M cap. In 2015, Manning was taking up about 12% of the Bronco's cap. Last year Garoppolo's cap hit represented just 8.65% of SF's cap and Maholmes took up just 2.36% of KC's cap... https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/positional/2019/quarterback/ In the salary cap era, the highest percentage paid to the Super Bowl winning QB came in the first year of the cap, 1994, when Steve Young accounted for 13.1% of the 49ers cap... https://ftw.usatoday.com/2018/02/nfl-quarterback-salaries-salary-cap-kirk-cousins-free-agency The article is 2 years old so here are the cap percentages spent on QBs for the past 2 Super Bowl winners... 2018 - NE - Brady - 12.4% 2019 - KC - Mahomes - 2.36% Here's what percentage of the cap Aaron Rodgers will eat up in the coming seasons... 2020 - 11.28% 2021 - 17.77% 2022 - 16.11% Rodgers is under the historic max threshold of Super Bowl winning QBs for 2020 and there's nothing that can be done about 2021's ugly percentage. But if they trade him after this coming season that ugly number in 2022 and the also ugly 2023 number goes away. There's pretty compelling evidence that you're chances of winning a Super Bowl are much better if you're allocating under 10% of your cap to your QB. The average cap percentage by Super Bowl winning QBs is around 7%. It allows you to field a better overall roster. And it definitely shows that the percentage of the cap that Rodgers will consume from 2021 through 2023, will make it very hard for the Packers to put together a deep roster. That goes away and opens a window of low QB cap dollars from 2022-2024 if Love pans out and allows Rodgers to be moved after this coming 2020 season. My question is, if Joe-Schmoe on a baseball message board comes up with this, why would one of 31 NFL GMs trade for Rodgers then?
  19. My question is, if they're moving more to a run heavy type of offense, then why are they placing such a high value on a QB? Plus, if you're going more run heavy, don't you need a good defense? Which they did nothing to address. The pieces just don't add up.
  20. You almost literally have a better chance of getting struck by lightning than getting CV in Janesville. Being able to get out and do simple fun things like that are healthy for your mental state. High stress creates more health issues and potential death than CV in most areas of the state, and country for that matter. t this point everyone is (or should be) painfully aware of the risks. If you are old or otherwise compromised, stay away from people. If you must interact with said people, take all necessary precautions. That's where we need to be, otherwise it's very close to the time to open up the stores and restaurants and start getting back to normal. There are plenty of counties in Wisconsin that are reporting their first cases this week, this thing is now picking up in a lot of the smaller population counties now, this is not "close to time to open up the stores and restaurants." Down here in Houston, we are now up to 1,380 for the city and have been adding more and more people every day - 400 on Monday and 170 on Tuesday (some due to back log tests, which means there have been a lot of people moving around the city not knowing they could be spreading it) and on average about 80 per day last week, so no, it is not "close to time to open up the stores and restaurants." We are still weeks away from being able to be in public without worrying about it wide spreading. If we had more strict actions taken early when this was starting to take off, we WOULD be at the "time to open up the stores and restaurants" like South Korea, because they took this seriously and took extreme measures to make sure it didn't blow up. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/south-korea/ I agree that people should be aware of the risks of this virus by now, but yet there are still a ton of idiots who don't think this will impact them, or think it is a joke, and are ignoring the social distancing and other measures put into place to knock this out.
  21. The mind blowing part, is the Mavs used the extra pick they got from the Bucks, to help trade for Steve Nash. Pat Garrity (drafted with the extra pick the Bucks traded), Bubba Wells, Martin Muursepp, and a future first, for Nash.
  22. Were you calling for a shutdown every flu season? 80,000 people died in the U.S. over the 2017-18 flu season. Nothing shut down, you had to scramble to even find a story about it. If those people are more important than the economy, we really should shut down for a few months every year. Because flu season spans 3 to 6 months, December to February, or you can expand it each direction. This has killed a lot of people in a fraction of that time. The mortality rate is at MINIMUM 10x more deadly than the flu. If nothing was done, that 80,000 number would happen in less than two weeks.
