  1. I'm worried in the sense that if they don't/can't (again, I'm not very well versed in the exemptions, salary cap, etc) sign Lopez or Mirocic, who plays the 5 next year? The biggest guys on the roster at that point would be Giannis, Ersan, and Wilson? Would need to add some how for interior defense and rebounding help. CLH did make me feel a bit better in his response about being able to give Lopez about $9M with the MLE, and hoping he would take that deal, as I have no idea if or how the Bucks can make him a multi-year offer. Maybe that's something they can work on after the nail out a one year deal. I think we mostly know what we have in Bledsoe, Brogdon, Middleton, Giannis, and Ersan. Hopefully we can get the good and improved versions of Donte, Pat C, Brown, and Wilson.
  2. With the 30 and Snell now gone, how do they fill out the rest of the roster this year? 9 spots seem to be given: Giannis, Middleton, Bledsoe, Brogdon, Ersan, Donte, Wilson, Brown, and Pat C. Hopefully 2 more in Lopez and Mirocic. Maybe Gasol? Do they get a couple other vets to sign for the minimum? UDFAs? - find another Christian Wood perhaps but actually keep him? That's the one issue of having to deal away the #30 this year, and seemingly having dealt away a lot of future picks, is it becomes a lot more difficult to find cheap role players to balance out the roster with Giannis' and Khris' max deals, as well as Bledsoe and Brogdon's larger contracts. (If they don't do whatever it takes to re-sign Brogdon after this trade, I'll lose my mind)
  3. Thanks for your answer, I'm just not knowledgeable when it comes to all the mid-level exemptions, trade exemptions, etc. Basically, I feel like it boils down to if they resign Midds, they just need to bring him, Brogdon, Mirocic, and Hill back and just pay the tax and bring it back. Also seems like under this scenario, Lopez wouldn't resign unless he would be willing to take way less money than he could get anywhere else. If they let Midds walk, could they keep Hill, and still resign Brogdon and Lopez? Maybe if Midds walks, Lopez and Mirocic wouldn't want to come back either though? I guess this is why Horst is getting paid $$$$
  4. (regarding the Bucks current FAs) Hey CLH or anyone who knows the CBA rules, if the Bucks hypothetically let Khris walk, does that affect at all what the Bucks can offer Lopez or Mirocic? I'm guessing that doesn't affect Brogdon at all because he's a RFA, and also doesn't affect Hill at all considering his is an option. I absolutely HATE letting an asset walk for nothing, but I'm wondering if taking a step backwards, by letting Midds walk, for next year would allow them to reload better for the next, say 3 year window after that? I would think if they exercised Hill's 18M option, that 18M expiring contract would be very valuable at the trade deadline next year - if that's the direction they decided to go at that point - didn't look like they were true contenders. Also same could be said for Ersan's expiring next year as well? Just throwing out thoughts. My guess is they will resign Midds to that 5yr/190M contract (yuck, imo), and do what they can to resign Brogdon, but sounds like they might let Lopez (can't afford/can't fit due to CBA) and Mirocic walk. I'm just not seeing how that team competes next year. How do they fill out the rest of the roster? Does the rest of the roster have to be minimum salary guys?
  5. This is something I've thought about for a while now. How much credit/blame goes to the new club for that change? Miami might just not have the same level of scouting, coaching or analytics the Brewers have so the players involved might not perform the same as if they had been with the original club. Would Brinson have struggled the same here as he has there for example? That to me is the one thing we can't know when assessing the success of a trade. Obviously Miami has had success in developing top talent players but how much success has the Jeter era really had? I don't think this had anything to do with Milwaukee vs Miami, I believe the story came out that he was tinkering with his batting stance on his own around the All Star break last year, and started bending his legs more like how he hit back in HS, and was able to generate some more power with it.
  6. starter/backup/traded at what level? none are even in any type of top 250 prospect lists
  7. Who is Peter Lambert?
  8. wonder if they went the college route due to smaller bonus pool, due to dealing away the Comp pick for Claudio and signing Grandal
  9. So many intriguing options here, Goss, Allan, Malone great HS arm options, Johnson projectable college arm, Misner super high risk high reward for a college bat, also got Henderson and Hampton as huge toolsy prep bats
  10. Not sure how this plays into things, if at all, but Lasry's son is the one who is a VP in the organization as well, correct?
  11. Besides the fact Milwaukee is on Bumgarner's no trade list, no thank you to that trade
  12. Not a huge loss because we didn't have them. It clearly would have been a HUGE gain for us had we gotten them. Writing it off as no big deal reminds me of when people were talking about how much Herro would fail at Kentucky and then downplaying his talent after he spurred UW for UK. They're good players and the Badgers badly needed an infusion of talent. They weren't game changers hence the nothing special. Herro is a special player that one hurt this one not so much. I don't think this is a huge loss as I don't believe either of them would have fit very well in the Wisconsin system. Joey Hauser wasn't a great defender and would at times disappear in the offense at Marquette it was like he wasn't even there at times. When Howard was out for a bit it was the Hauser show and they just didn't impress at all. I don't see this as a huge loss as I don't think the Badgers have that good of team even with both Hauser's on the team. They would still be about average and nothing more and that is why I just don't see this being that big of a deal. I didn't really care if he was going to be on Wisconsin or not I was more leaning towards he wasn't going to be and the UW visit by them was just a see we tried but it just wasn't a fit. Both of the Hauser's are going where they should be going though you could argue that Virginia and UW are about the same style wise. Joey Hauser is going to a team where he won't have to be the guy but will still get enough shots in at Michigan State. The offensive scheme and play is more suited for his style of play than it would be at Wisconsin. The game at Georgetown where Howard played one minute before getting hurt, Sam scored 31 points on 10/20 shooting in a 74-71 win. If that "didn't impress at all" man, you've got some lofty expectations. 14.1ppg as a soph and 14.9 ppg as a junior I guess is nothing special either.
  13. They have too much talent and there are way too many games left for them to not be a threat the rest of the year.
  14. Maybe that's the perception of college basketball, but there have been 11 different winners in the past 20 years.
  15. Cain's AB here in the 8th - first five pitches all out of the zone, ump calls 2 of them strikes. Unreal.
  16. Yes, that's an over and back, but no, the refs haven't been bad this game at all. They didn't miss the offensive goal tend on Ibaka either, because, you know, the refs haven't been bad this game at all.
  17. I don't think we are watching the same game
  18. This is similar to the USA vs Russia in the Olympics
  19. The refs are the MVP of this series. this is un freakin believable
  20. It's amazing how a few bad calls from the officials affect this team. That blatant offensive goal tend on Ibaka just led to a fast downward spiral. I've never seen a home team in the playoffs receive the short end of the stick from the officials since............. the '00-'01 Bucks in the series vs the 76ers, which later came out was paid off. Maybe 15 years from now we will find out that this series was paid off too, that's how bad the officiating has been
  21. I completely agree with EVERY. SINGLE. POINT. you made here, it was painfully obvious watching all 4 games so far this series, that starting Niko with Lopez and Giannis was not the way to go, that Toronto is just way to quick for that lineup. I don't understand how Bud hasn't adjusted to this yet. Also, there's been way too many times that both Khris and Giannis are on the bench together. There is zero reason for both to be on the bench at the same time, outside of blowout minutes at the end of the game. Completely agree with you that Bled's minutes need to mostly be when Giannis is on the bench now. Also wouldn't mind seeing some Brown and DJ Wilson minutes if the team needs a little energy boost. Brown played well - in limited minutes - down the stretch and earlier in the playoffs, not sure how he went from starting to not even sniffing the floor. I'm not saying he needs to play 20+ minutes a game, but getting a few minutes wouldn't kill the rotation (same as Wilson).
  22. Just saw the DoorMan after that Cain RBI on the Braves broadcast!
  23. I don't think we will play a slow-pace UW type offense, I think it will be pretty fast paced, just with more attacking the rim vs taking a lot of 3s, and a lot more transition offense
  24. After the Hauser announcement, was pretty down on this upcoming season, but gradually getting more and more excited for '19-'20. The "5" spot should be very solid with Jayce coming in - even better than last year I would think. I am curious to see how the "4" spot is used, I think there will be a lot of small ball, but can also see Ed getting some decent minutes along side one of Theo or Jayce as well - either way, defensively it will be a huge upgrade over Joey's traffic cone like D. My hope is that there will be a lot more easy shots created with lineups having 3 or 4 of Markus, Koby, Greg, Sacar, BB, or Jamal on the floor being able to penetrate and kick, or just take it all the way to the rack themselves. The 3point shooting will obviously take a hit, but think we should see a lot more easy shots being created/taken. Just hope that Markus learns to be more of a distributor, or at least have the ball in Koby's hands and let him create.
