  1. no walks issued last night. brewers lead the national league in fewest walks issued.
  2. the last team (1977 yankees) to start the season 2-8 and then win six straight went on to win the world series.
  3. rodgers' pitching has been horrible . . . especially if you ask ryan braun. rogers is pitching another simulated game today, and if that goes well, he'll start a 30-day rehab assignment with huntsville on tuesday.
  4. bad news with green having season ending surgery. good news in that the brewers will surely place him on the 60-day disabled list to open up a spot for somebody else.
  5. with news of hip surgery for taylor green, it's reasonable to expect that he'd be transferred to the 60-day disabled list. this would open up a 40-man roster spot for a waiver claim, or a minor league player. the brewers' bench of davis, lalli, maldonado, prince and schafer is very, very, very inexperienced at the moment, but that 40-man spot could be going to francisco rodriguez, and not a position player.
  6. it's reported that bianchi continues his rehab with nashville starting tomorrow. still seeking an update on green.
  7. bianchi has five games under his belt on his rehab assignment with huntsville. not sure if they'll move him to nashville to finish out the rehab or look to activate him soon. there was word that taylor green had a setback and was being examined. any update on his status? is he looking like a candidate to be transferred to the 60-day disabled list?
  8. mike fiers has been optioned.
  9. if fiers is sent down today, his 10th day in the minors would be 28 april.
  10. with a nod to this thread, the brewers pitching staff is tied for second fewest walks issued in the major leagues. yes, the pitching has been less than desirable to start the season, but at least the team's not being killed by bases on balls.
  11. wow. i say go for it, especially when it's a likely a low-risk minor league deal. http://brewersbeat.mlblogs.com/2013/04/17/brewers-close-to-re-signing-k-rod/
  12. i can't seem to access nashville sounds gameday audio. the bar is green, telling me they're not broadcasting.
  13. jeff bianchi starts a rehab assignment tomorrow with aa-huntsville.
  14. i haven't checked mutual off days, but the brewers' next scheduled series at wrigley field isn't until late july.
  15. i'm happy that the brewers are patient at this point and seeking replacements in-house, rather than giving up great minor league talent in desperation for infield and bullpen help.
  16. why can't they have axford start a game and pitch the first inning? he'll likely face the top hitters in the lineup, but it'll be a low pressure situation. granted, it burns a reliever, but if the rest of the bullpen is on board with it, it's ok.
  17. Spring training dates do not count towards 60 day DL time. Only the regular season. So he is retroactive to opening day. confused? so am i.
  18. blake lalli has two minor league options remaining. the brewers can option him to the minor leagues and keep him on the 40-man roster. he's been outrighted off the 40-man once before, so if the brewers do try to outright him again and nobody claims him, he does have the right to declare free agency.
  19. so what you're telling us is that you're glad you get to watch the on-field instructional segments?
  20. sean halton, hunter morris, caleb gindl and scooter gennett all started for nashville tonight and are still in the game as of the sixth inning. blake lalli has not appeared in the game yet. does this mean anything?
  21. who's they?
  22. position player coming up tomorrow! chris narveson to the 15-day disabled list. a five-man bench finally!
  23. kudos on the changing of the thread title. hopefully, it won't be edited again to include "phone book", "suitcase" and "salad tongs".
