  1. jake hager has all three minor league options intact, and has never been sent outright to the minor leagues. he will burn his first option after 20 days on optional assignment.
  2. whatever is afflicting chad sobotka, he has not been placed on the minor league 7-day injured list. he is counting against nashville's 28-man roster limit (players on rehab assignment don't count against said limit). puzzling indeed.
  3. yardley's rehab stint has concluded and he could be activated soon.
  4. lauer will have met the requisite stay of 10 days on optional assignment by 26 may, so this is very possible. a sixth starter will pitch on 26 may.
  5. jace peterson has been activated from the 10-day injured list and designated for assignment. the club has seven days to trade, release or try to outright him to the minors. if he clears outright waivers, he has the right to refuse the minor league assignment. the roster is at 37 players.
  6. if he is placed on outright waivers and clears them, jace peterson reserves the right to refuse the assignment (voiding his contract) and become a free agent.
  7. alec bettinger has been optioned to class aaa nashville.
  8. it should be noted that hiura spent more than 20 days on optional assignment, which means he burned his second option. if a player spends less than 20 days on optional assignment for an entire season, he doesn't burn his option, and he is credited with major league service time for the time spent on optional assignment.
  9. incorrect on the latter part. jace peterson has yet to be placed on outright waivers in 2021.
  10. Assuming Taylor is optioned to make way for Hiura. D Rob is likely the odd man out. Robertson really doesn’t play outfield, and infield playing time will be limited with Urias now getting regular time as a utility player. But for Robertson’s homer this weekend he’s been virtually an automatic out at the plate as well. Not to mention they’re covered with HP in the organization if they need another right handed light hitting versatile defender urías never saw time at any other position besides short in spring training. even though he has a regular season start at second and some innings at third, part of me thinks that he's going to be groomed as a utility player with class aaa nashville for the time being.
  11. trevor richards still has an option remaining, but has already burned it with tampa bay this year.
  12. yesterday, alec bettinger was recalled from class aaa nashville.
  13. pablo reyes has been optioned to class aaa nashville. he must remain on optional assignment for at least 10 days unless he is replacing a player placed on the injured list or on leave, or if serving as the 27th man of a doubleheader.
  14. billy mckinney has been designated for assignment. the club has seven days to trade, release or try to outright him to the minors. if he clears outright waivers, he will be forced to accept the minor league assignment. the roster is at 38 players.
  15. derek fisher has started a new rehab assignment with class aaa nashville. it can last up to 20 days.
  16. billy mckinney has been designated for assignment.
  17. the brewers trade two players on major league contracts to the tampa bay rays, and acquire two players on major league contracts. willy adames has one minor league option remaining. trevor richards has already burned his final option this year, but can be sent out on optional assignment again this year. the roster is at 39 players.
  18. willy adames has one minor league option remaining. trevor richards has already burned his final option this year, but can be sent out on optional assignment again this year.
  19. daniel robertson has been reinstated from the injured list.
  20. any word on an opt-out clause? i'd imagine that there'd be one coming up in the coming weeks.
  21. the brewers didn't deal (i.e. trade) him. they tried to pass him through outright waivers. any team could've claimed him. had such an agreement been in place, the brewers would've traded nottingham back to seattle, and blocked 28 other teams for having a shot at him.
  22. lauer will have met the requisite stay of 10 days on optional assignment by 26 may, so this is very possible.
  23. the brewers chose to place jacob nottingham on outright waivers again. he did not clear said waivers. he has been claimed by seattle again.
  24. the brewers expect daniel robertson's rehab assignment to last through at least tomorrow (an off day for the parent club). after that, they will evaluate activating him.
  25. the guy currently has a 1.020 ops with nashville. but also 13 strikeouts and only one walk in 35 plate appearances. but he can't play shortstop.
