  1. to do everything that he did in his career and post-career, all the while being subjected to the vileness of white supremacists. he was a profile of courage and strength. the world needs more hanks.
  2. the daniel robertson deal is official. he is out of minor league options. the roster is at 38.
  3. my error. prior to today's contract, woodruff had four years of arbitration eligibility.
  4. $6.675 mm for josh hader. $3.275 mm for brandon woodruff.
  5. reported deal for brandon woodruff is $3.275 mm. woodruff has three years remaining of arbitration eligibility.
  6. reported $6.675 mm for josh hader. hader has two years remaining of arbitration eligibility.
  7. josh hader has agreed to terms with the brewers on a one-year contract. no details yet.
  8. brandon woodruff has agreed to terms with the brewers on a one-year contract. no details yet.
  9. still many weeks before arbitration hearings. will a deal be struck today with woodruff, or will they exchange figures?
  10. hopefully, we'll learn the figures that the brewers are offering josh hader and brandon woodruff (and the figures that those two are submitting to the club) after the noon deadline today.
  11. have you heard rick sweet lament about how long it takes an optioned player to report back to his class aaa club? when a player is recalled by the brewers, he gets there right away. when he's optioned back, it takes days for him to report back. having utility players on the class aaa roster gives that team flexibility when such vacancies occur.
  12. alfredo figaro and dontrelle willis might disagree with you, but considering that peterson got an invite to big league camp with this deal, it should be posted in the major league forum. jace peterson is out of minor league options. the brewers have five non-roster invitees in camp.
  13. fortunately for mark mathias, the brewers will have a 26-man roster.
  14. clubs and players must submit their salary arbitration figures to each other by noon friday.
  15. blame the rays for burning his first option his rookie year. had they recalled him on 1 september 2017 when rosters were eligible to expand, he wouldn't have burned his first option. people do realize that by signing robertson, it's now extremely unlikely that the club re-signs eric sogard, right?
  16. alfredo figaro and dontrelle willis are telling pablo reyes that if this thread had been posted in the minor league forum, forum members would be more likely to be discussing the value of pablo reyes instead of overall organization strategy. reyes is countering that he has an invitation to big league camp and deserves to be in the major league forum, and they keep consoling him, "we know how you feel, pablo . . . trust us, we know . . ."
  17. i expect reyes to get a lot of playing time early on in arizona (assuming games are nine innings). we already know that class a and class aa seasons are starting later--presumably to stagger the masses of players at each club's complex over spring training. there just isn't going to a huge pool of lower-level prospects to bring over from minor league camp to play in the final innings of each spring training game.
  18. ryan braun is still taking time regarding his playing future.
  19. the deal includes an invitation to major league spring training. pablo reyes appears to have two minor league options remaining. he has been outrighted to the minor leagues before. the brewers have four non-roster players invited to cactus league camp.
  20. we are nearing the end of miller park as we end this year tomorrow.
  21. The 2021 MiLB season was destined to be shortened, first due to the setup changes and then due to covid & precautions being taken as a result. You might recall there was talk about having a staggered spring training where MLB & invites would go first (& go thru completion) before the minor league camp would even start. In the past the minor league camp would get underway during the 1st week of March (so during MLB spring training) and some milb players would shuttle back n forth between the camps/ games being played IF the MLB season gets pushed back, the MiLB season is sure to follow. seeing that mlb rosters no longer expand to 40 in september, wouldn't it make sense to have minor league seasons go a little bit deeper into september--or at least for class aaa teams? how do reserve players stay in shape while the major league season is still continuing. . . lifting fedex parcels?
  22. san diego is the eighth largest city in the nation.
  23. for those who are tabulating 2021 payroll, don't forget that waiver claims cost $100,000.
  24. tim lopes has been claimed off waivers from seattle. he has all three minor league options intact, and has never been outrighted to the minor leagues. the roster is at 37.
  25. dylan cozens is out of minor league options. hoby milner appears to have two minor league options remaining but has been placed on outright minor league assignment before. with these two transactions, the brewers have three non-roster invitees for 2021 camp.
