    Crasnick says we dealt Haniger to the Dbacks. Waiting for word on who it is. Likely a reliever IMO.

    That would be two huge holes at the corners if we did that. Reynolds is a serviceable 1B but not a good defensive 3B. If we dealt Ramirez, I would assume we'd see Weeks and/or some awful combo of players there. I think once we signed Garza the writing was on the wall that this is the team you'll see opening day outside of a few little moves.

    I gotta think he's a SP. Look at our options for the rotation: Gallardo Lohse Estrada Peralta Thornburg Smith Hellweg Fiers? (if he got back into his 2012 form) Any chance they're thinking of dealing a SP for a 1B? Or are we assuming Hart will be back? I'm underwhelmed as well. I think we could've done better.

    Either way, it's a good move. Get an asset for expiring contract. Put Gamel back at 1B and the rest of the lineup stays intact.

    Anything involving Olt would be my top choice right now. And I've read that Toronto could be a 3rd team in a deal with the Brewers and the White Sox.

    I think with the new rules concerning compensation for losing free agents that we'll see a lot more trades. Should be fun.

    Any chance this is us? Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes reports that Fernando Martinez will be claimed by a team from the National League Central.

    Alex Gonzalez wasn't offered arby by the Braves. He'll be 35 next spring. Had a great 2010 but his OBP is not good. Not sure on his range. I would think he'd be cheap. I would assume most would prefer Furcal to him. Thoughts?

    I think Furcal will be a Brewer before Friday's game. Good upside if he gets healthy and don't have to give much up to get him.

    DM is talking like it will be A or B but I think D is the likeliest with C being a close second. Unless Furcal can prove to stay healthy for a couple of weeks, he's a big risk. Bartlett seems to be worth a risk and won't cost much.

    Weeks Cain Braun Fielder Hart McGehee Lucroy Escobar P Loving Weeks and Cain's speed at the top. Can't see Escobar going up there with his bat last season and in the AFL.

    Konerko just re-signed with the White Sox for 3 years 37.5 mil. Now that the Cubs took Pena off the market and Konerko is gone, I would think other teams might jump in. With the Dodgers ownership up in the air, I'm not sure they're the team that's going to get something done. I have a feeling Prince will be back for the full year.

    I was just passing along the news. I've been on the Cora or Dave Martinez bandwagon for awhile now. Shockingly I can form my own opinion without the help of websites telling me what to think. I'll be happy to be the 27th member of the Joey Cora fan club.
