  1. That was an awesome game seven. I really feel for the Royals though. They had no chance against Bumgarner. He dominated them.
  2. He was cluch for the Brewers during our run. All the best Jerry in your retirement! I'm sure he will be around the game in some sort of way in the years to come.
  3. Sad news for the Brewers. Corey was an admirable player over the years for the Crew. None of the remaining options at first base look very promising.
  4. That was a great article. Clearly, Seattle is a mess, and the Cano signing is another indication of that.
  5. This is really madness. Mccann's best years are behind him.
  6. I agree with the overall sentiment of this post. The Brewers remain a very immature team. We don't need the Cardinals to have any more motivation to beat us than they already do. When you have Morgan and Grienke talking smack, you create external problems for the team that do not need to be there. I just hope this team grows up and becomes more professional in their approach toward the game. If not, I feel we will continue to lose to teams that are more focused on what actually matters, playing sound baseball and winning.
  7. Bargain. Jack Z has the Mariners in great shape to win the AL West. I wish he was our GM http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif. Instead we pay 30 million for Wolf and 42 Million for Soup. :*(
  8. Congrats to the best pitcher in mlb, man is he fun to watch.
  9. I think it's important to remember that Pablo Sandoval is the de facto NL rookie of the year.
  10. This deserves the proverbial [expletive deleted]. The Twins took us hard on this one. I would of thought we got ripped off is we would of traded Seth McClung for Gomez. (edit: language --1992)
  11. I hope Sheets is back in 2010 with another outside option. How serious is Webb's injury?
  12. Glad to see this deal done so soon. Hoffman is fantastic, I look forward to him playing next season, and hopefully retiring as a Brewer.
  13. Suppan and Parra need to go to the BP next year. What a joke.
  14. I know that Bradley has been an enigma for the Cubbies this year, however, I feel he is one of the few players the Brewers could send Soup for this off season and greatly benefit from the trade. After news of the Cubs suspending Bradley for the remander of the year, it is clear that Bradley is on the way out. Bradley's career OPS of 821 is something to be coveted and would be great protection for Fielder in the 5 hole. He could play CF for our team, and finally rid us of Soup's terrible contract, while securing us an above average OF and likely type B compensation picks for Cameron. Without Cam's and Soup's contracts, the team would have around ten million to throw around for a SP either through trade or free agency. Thoughts?
  15. 1) Escobar 2) Hart 3) Braun 4) Fielder 5) Weeks 6) Cameron 7) Gamel 8) B. Molina Bench Council Gerut Catalanotto Kendell 1) Yovani 2) Gunthrie 3) Looper 4) Bush 5) Suppan Hoffman Coffey Villenueva Parra Stetter Weathers McClung Vargas DiFelice I hope McGehee and Hardy could get it done for Guthrie. I doubt, however, that Gamel will be given the nod at 3rd, although I think he would do well there. I also hope the team goes after Sheets if there is any possibility of him returning in 2010. I would like to see Macha, and perhaps Melvin gone in 2010, although it does not look like that is going to happen.
  16. It would be nice to see the team finish over 500. I think this is going to be Coop's last year managing the Astros sadly.
  17. I for one, would love to see Guthrie in Milwaukee, he's just the type of pitcher we need, and I think its actually within the realm of possibility.
  18. No I would not feel comfortable with Gerut as our starting CF and think we should resign Cam to a one or two year deal. Barring trades the 2010 off season appears to be another difficult one concerning for the Crew concerning their pitching staff. The team needs to trade for a legit number 2, someone who can throw below 4.00 ball. I think the team will pick up Looper's option, Parra needs to go to the bullpen, and we will likely see Soup and Bush as the teams 4 and 5. The Soup and Hall contracts have put the team in a tough position, although not as much as people may of thought as Hart, Hardy and Weeks are not going to get the arby raises we originally anticipated. I feel that Melvin et all needs to be held accountable for their failure to develop pitching in the farm system.
  19. yeah, lets trade the best player to wear a brewer uniform in nearly two decades. (/sarcasm) With all the bad contracts coming off the books we should have more than enough money to extend prince for at least five more seasons. Its threads like this that make me feel I need to find a new team to follow as I simply abhor fans who see this as a good idea. Why on earth would you want to trade our best player?
  20. I for one am a big supporter of this move, let the days of Escobar begin. Ia also feel that members of this forum need to quit being delusional about Hardy's value, he will never net us a decent SP option with this horrendous season marking his value. Now if only Gamel would be called up...
  21. I think Cam ought to be retained and don't think we need to spend 10 million doing it. I think 7-6 million could seal the deal. I will be very dissapointed if Gamel is not the starting 3B and would like to see Escobar called up this fall to see what he can do for the team. Hopefully DM can pick up a true #1 pitcher, yet I am skeptical with all the bad comtracts on the books for 2010. 2011 may be a different story, however, I feel the team needs to lock up Prince Fielder.
  22. Melvin does not deserved to be fired, pure and simple. Yes there have been some poor moves made under his tenure, resigning Bill Hall (a move applauded at the time), Riske (a true risk), and of course Suppan (Mark A's splash signing). We all knew 2009 would be a rough season and the team was particularly screwed of compensation for both CC and Sheets. I will say this, however, I wish Seattle would have taken away Melvin instead of Jack Z.
  23. Parra = Jorge De La Rosa? This has to be the final straw.
  24. I do not understand the argument for resigning Hardy long term, particularly with Escobar in the wings. Hardy has had only one good season offensively.
