  1. Maybe he is the only one who knows what the heck he is talking about. Or maybe Braun's camp leaked it to him knowing he is the only who would really understand what the defense is? Who knows; SI just need to publish the article. Once that happens everyone else will pick it up as well
  2. I definitely get the feeling that the tide will turn in Braun's favor by the end of the weekend. MLB's reaction to this issue really is mind boggling. If their system hadn't let the leak occur in the first place they wouldn't have this egg on their face and then to openly ridicule the reigning MVP? Just messed up
  3. So Will Carrol says that the Braun team was actually able to replicate the insanely high test and showed exactly how it could have happened? I think that might be pretty convincing to an arbitrator. So it wasn't even so much that the chain of custody got screwed up; but that Braun's team clearly show that screw up messed the sample? If that truly is the case; Braun is innocent plain and simple. I would be very interested to see how the sample could have produced that result.
  4. And I thought people were rushing to judgment when ESPN leaked the first story; this is a little ridiculous. Maybe people should at least wait until Braun explains (hopefully) his side of the story. I am also skeptical that the dude holding onto it an extra day was the sole reason he won the appeal; there has got to be something more than that
  5. Why does MLB even go through the hassle of using a courier to drop the samples off at FedEx? Couldn't they very easily arrange for FedEx to pick the samples up from the collection site? This just seems odd to me.
  6. I imagine it not being Braun's actual pee could pose a problem. No idea how that could happen though
  7. I am hoping something more comes out other than this dude just kept in his fridge for a couple days. Not that Braun should have to prove his innocence after winning his appeal but I am sure many outside of WI remain very skeptical including writers who have a vote for MVPs; HOF, ETC
  8. So I guess the conspiracy theorist now comes out in me wondering who the heck had the test for two days and what the heck did the guy do to it?
  9. Pretty classy statement; I get the sense that he is not going to spill the beans though
  10. TH's blog say he won on a "technicality" and not necessary that the result of the test was wrong. I have no freaking idea what that even means but I suppose it would leave open the possibility for people to still think he juiced and just hired a good lawyer.
  11. Now all the curious minds want to know what the hell happened. I wonder how much Braun is going to say?
  12. So how can the AP say one thing and the union say another? Something obviously got mixed up here
  13. My only hope is that Braun has been exonerated and it would be MLB policy to act like this never happened (Since no one should have known). If Braun is in town today but not reporting till tommorrow perhaps he will be the one making a press conference tonight indicating he has been exonerated. Yay for false hope and misguided interpretations of random pointless pieces of information
  14. Still expecting the suspension. I will be out until about 7 tonight and will expect to come home and see he was suspended. Will be giddy as hell if he gets off though
  15. Are we talking aobut Big East for all sports or Big East just for basketball. The Big East for football might as well be a 1-AA conference. Basketball is still respectiable but still won't be what it used to be. The league is getting too watered down IMO.
  16. When has that stopped them? I'm surprised there hasn't been a Coors Light 6 pack of questions done every hour about the latest Braun situation. Or a nightly 2 hour special called "The Decision" where Skip Bayless and Steven A. Smith yell at each other about the latest non-news. If it were a Red Sox or Yankee player, that would be happening. JEREMY LIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Oops I meant 5; same problem still applies. Division #5 is still larger than any other division. Not sure why I said 7 there.
  18. It seems weird that anyone would even know when exactly the decision will be announced; I would take that to mean that decision has obviously already been made it just a matter of announcing it. The realist in me tells me that that would imply a guilty verdict because I have to imagine Braun's team would let it be known he is innocent as soon as they found out. I have to imagine the appeal panel would let Braun know before the rest of the world. If he was guilty I imagine thet would be content letting MLB announce it first and then go into damage control.
  19. I have no doubts Gamel will handle right handed pitching; but I really want him to hit lefties and be given a chance to hit lefties. I dont want 1B to end up being a platoon position.
  20. It really is pointless to read into the motives regarding why everyone including ESPN has been so quiet on this issue. No use getting excited or upset about anything since no one knows anything. I really don't care what ESPN does or doesn't do (But I sure as heck would tune in if Braun wins). ESPN is basically the last place I go for sports news now anyways. Now I still think it is pretty crappy that they leaked it in the first place and ethics have gone out the window at the place lately due to pursuit of ratings but I am not holding anything against them now by devoting airtime to issues other than Braun since there hasn't been anything new to report in like 2 months.
  21. Yep real money. I know a ton of people that gamble and have no problem laying out that amount of cash; me not so much. Keep in mind that most teams have 4-5 guys so if you spend say $2,000 on 4-5 teams then everyone is really only spending $400-$500 each. This is the only sort of "gambling" I ever do so I usually just save some extra money over the course of the year to do it.
  22. My boss at work has complained quite a bit about the # of schools in Division #7 versus the rest of the divisions. Granted his son's team is horrible and has no shot advancing out of regionals and he realizes that; he just doesn't understand why there are so many more teams in Division #7 than any other. I am not sure how they figure that out; why couldn't they even out #6 and #7? Up in my neck of the woods there a bunch of teams worth monitoring: Laconia, Omro, St Marys Springs, Randolph, Oshkosh Lourdes. Fond du Lac is once again awful; you would think that as big as that school is that they would get some talent from somewhere. No size whatsoever and they haven't had any for a long time.
  23. It wouldn't be a complete offseason until we sign some washed up guy to a minor league invite. Everyone needs to hope Gibbons doesn't sniff MLB. Maybe they signed him because they know Braun is suspended
