  1. The Bulls have pretty much owned the Bucks this year. Hopefully they don't get swept. I am thinking they will win one of the home games; even though I am sure the building will be half full with Bulls fans.
  2. I can envision Doug trading guys like Gomez, Broxton, Garza, Lohse if the situation presents itself; but Lucroy is pretty much the face of the franchise right now. He is an elite catcher and those are very few and far between. I would be shocked if Lucroy goes anywhere and I fully expect an extension when that time comes. You can rebuild the system plenty just by trading Gomez and maybe Garza, I don't think trading Lucroy is necessary. The team can be an excellent team 3 years from now assuming some of the lower minors talent develops as we hope; I don't think it is necessary to gut the MLB team Astros style.
  3. I don't think Myles is much of a center either. The guy is big; but when I watched Texas games this year he almost never played in the post. He liked to shoot outside despite having a pretty poor percentage if I am not mistaken. If you want to trade up for a center; Poetl from Utah might not be a bad pick. But after Towns and Okafor there aren't a lot of good true centers in the draft. I say no way to Willy Cauley Stein.
  4. Gatewood gets his first HR; that's at least something.
  5. It has never been in RR's philosophy to give guys a free base; I am not sure there is anything that could happen that would change that. I don't think hitting or not hitting guys really makes any difference at all unless someone is stupid enough to hit a guy in a close game late. That has happened before. The cardinals way hasn't led them to win all the time; its their talent.
  6. Well they just lost to Casey Medlen yesterday so of course we are going to beat Wainright today. Really weird start time.
  7. One thing to consider is that the Big Ten is going to be loaded next year. Michigan St and Maryland are both going to be fantastic and Indiana should be really good as well. UW could certainly finish Top #4 next year and probably will; but it is going to be a pretty tough road. Spring signing day is later this week; should be interesting to see if any last minute recruiting efforts can get another big man in or if they are just going with the 4 man recruiting class is-is (Pritzl, Thomas, Illikainen, and Iverson). I don't know if there are any highly recruited big men that Bo is involved with; more than likely he might take on a project type kid. Next year's team will have no seniors that will contribute; kind of crazy to think about for a Badgers team.
  8. I am willing to give them some more time; teams can go on a bad stretch and this one happens to be at the start of the year. If Segura, Lind, and Davis can continue to give the team good production like they have; you have to think that once Lucroy, Braun and hopefully Ramirez gets going that the offense will pick up. Regarding the pitching staff I really don't know. Peralta and Nelson were pretty good; everyone else including the bullpen has been mediocre or crappy.
  9. IDK; The Bucks were above .500 when they traded for MCW. His Shooting percentage is up a bit in MIL but he is still shooting 15% from 3. Turnovers are down but the assist to turnover ratio still sucks. I get why they made the trade but I think the team this year is definitely better with Knight than MCW. As far as the long term goes; lets see what happens when Kidd gets to work with MCW for a full year. Of course assuming that Kidd doesn't take the success in MIL and move on to bigger and better things.
  10. So far through 4 games my thoughts - Arcia is a stud - Medeiros with a spectacular start - Biloxi is going to win a lot of games - Wisconsin is going to lose a lot of games; the team is just so young - Harrison struggling with hits thus far, but really knows how to take a walk - Is time running out on Denson? man has he struggled to make contact - Colorado Springs is an entirely boring team
  11. Pretty cool a kid from Sheboygan is going to the NBA. He is making the right decision. Bo will still have a preseason 1st team all B10 player in Hayes and probably a preseason 2nd team B10 player in Koenig; but after that there will be a lot of playing time for freshman, redshirt freshman, along with Showalter and Brown. Next year should be interesting but you just have to expect a good UW team. Bo will have them ready.
  12. So what is the deal with Kidd completely benching Giannis last night? He refused to give a reason and he isn't hurt. I have never heard of any attitude problems or anything like that and Giannis had no idea why he didn't play. Kidd refused to say anything, seems pretty messed up to me. Giannis is clearly one of the Bucks best players. If he just wanted to rest him that's fine; but I don't see the harm in just coming out and saying that.
  13. Thank You Lord; finally something exciting to watch after that dumpster fire of a first series. I don't know how likely that Rattlers game is today; that field in Burlington is going to be soaked. Hopefully the field is in playable condition
  14. Other teams do stupid stuff too; look at the stupid hit and run Colorado tried to pull off yesterday. They ended up still getting the run in from 3rd with two outs; but the decision was still dumb the AB prior.
  15. It isn't dumb or undisciplined but holy hell does Davis have a wet noodle out their in LF. I don't understand how a good athlete like that who shows good power at the plate can have such a poor arm. Hopefully they can get a W tonight so we can talk about something good.
  16. Brewers kind of suck so far; yes only 2 games in but yeesh. Garza and Lohse have to be a lot better than this if Brewers are going to compete. Garza was cruising through 3 innings and then all of a sudden the Rockies were teeing off on him; it does make you wonder if the Rockies picked something up that tipped them.
  17. Yeah I took it as the various other developments would be financed separately and would be completed in phases; of course it wouldn't surprise if those developments do ask for some sort of city assistance when their time comes though. Maybe a TIF. The first project picture does look pretty damn cool. As a 10-12 year development I doubt the final result looks anything like what it looks like right now but the arena looks pretty nice.
  18. For cripes sake; we have too much offensive talent to all of a sudden become the Astros or Cubs of several years ago. We can have some injuries and underperformance and still win 75 games. I think basically everything would need to go wrong for this team to lose more than 70. Of course with a caveat being if they decide to sell in July and gut the team then I suppose they could really be terrible in the 2nd half. This team at least in my opinion is far more likely to win 85 games than 70 games.
  19. I am more excited to go and watch this team than the Brewers. Going to a T-Rats game is so much more family friendly and easy on the pocket book. It is an added bonus that there are so many exciting guys to watch this year.
  20. That block on Dukan where Winslow bowled into him was the far worse officiating call in my opinion. There is no way that one wasn't a charge. It was almost as if the officials were determined to call more fouls on UW in the 2nd half after Coach K was complaining the whole first half. I am not blaming the officials though; Duke executed far better down the stretch. UW missed some early free throws that turned out to be pretty important and Dekker went 0-6 from 3, Gasser never even scored, and Koenig struggled pretty bad late. Kaminsky went out on a high note though; he played great.
  21. Thank goodness I was on the road yesterday and I couldn't watch that trainwreck. Horrible game all the way around and then Braun gets hurt in his usual routine play type fashion. That guy is so frickin brittle, he isn't tearing ACL's like good normal injury prone people, he gets to had nagging injuries start on Day #1 of the frickin season right after having a nagging injury for the last 2 seasons. Hopefully it is just a couple of days and he is back; but I am not holding my breath. The Brewers need him this year.
  22. I don't know how anyone can say that Winslow didn't touch that ball; the CBS replay clearly showed that it did. That being said I am not upset about that since that happened after Koenig took a terrible shot. He just didn't run the offense effectively down the stretch. Tyus Jones absolutely was the best player on the court last night; he was clutch on those late jumpers. Also I was not expecting Grayson Allen to save Duke's butt; he is the one who stepped it up after UW got up 9. A absolutely great season; the last 2 years have been a blast. No doubt next year will be a bit of a rebuilding year but they still have enough talent to make the tourney and perhaps make the 2nd weekend. With or without Dekker. A lot of young guys will be depended on but Bo always finds a way
  23. Koenig took some absolutely awful shots down the stretch too. He airballed a contested layup and took a pointless long 3 pointer. Ball should have been going through Dekker and Kaminsky. That still was the greatest season of all time for UW; but it sucks that they played so poorly outside of Kaminsky down the stretch. I thought when they got up 9 mid way through the 2nd they were going to pull away; but everyone just went cold. Dekker having a poor game maybe slightly increases his chances of coming back but probably not happening
  24. Damn, tough loss there. That was a very questionable out of bounce call. Dekker just was off all night, Frank had a great game. Tyus Jones was just nuts; he hit some really tough shots. Awesome year regardless though
  25. Couldn't sleep last night. too excited. Probably got about 3 hours Duke will be tough and has been playing great the whole tourney; I think UW has some things going for it 1. Duke won't shoot 65% again 2. A huge player in that game was Sulomon and he is not on the team anymore 3. Dekker was still fairly hobbled by the ankle bath 4. Some weird intangible voodoo the Badgers seem to have; they are making all the plays they need to make it seems. I have a better feeling about this game than Kentucky or Arizona. Not sure why since Duke has been playing so well. UW had a far tougher road to get here and are just loaded with experience. It will be a bit of a let down if they lose after knocking off Kentucky but it might be one of the greatest tourney runs in history if they can beat UNC, Arizona, Kentucky, and Duke in four consecutive games to win the thing.
