  1. I will still be happy if DM can get one of the other Cuban guys; Alvarez is the one I would go after. Can't sign until July though (Like Lara last year). $60 Million is such a huge number to fork over for a 19 year old kid. That he can get $30 Million and high 1st round picks are limited to what they can get at the same age seems pretty unfair.
  2. That is still making a lot of assumptions though. We all hope the above mentioned players make big leaps in 2015; but odds are at least one or two are going to struggle. Every team in the league has talents in the system that are capable of being top 100 type guys that aren't currently. Some players take the next step and some don't. I think by midseason the Brewers might add another 1 or 2 but I am not going to go nuts and expect the Brewers to go from a 25th ranked system to 15th or so based solely on these guys we hope to breakout in 2015. Harrison has the making of a Top 100 guy; but he at most will be in Low A to start the year. Coulter is going to be in Brevard County where power hitters go to die. Both Lara and Medeiros are probably going to be in rookie ball for most if not all of the year. Gatewood was pretty much terrible last year; he won't be anywhere near a top 100 no matter how good he does this year; once again likely in R all year.
  3. That would be a pretty darn good team; but I don't think they would consider bringing in both Monroe and Matthews. Matthews would be great; then I would just roll with Henson, Pachulia, Plumlee at the 5. Or see what is available in the draft at the 5. Kaminsky might be a reasonable pick if the Bucks end up picking in the late teens
  4. So I just had a panic attack. Contractor tore out my bathroom today and after turning the water back on a leak started running down my first floor wall. He freaked out and quick turned the water off and called me. I am panicking at work for about 15 minutes will he cuts out a few floor boards to see what happened. Turns out the demolition caused a nail to make a small puncture in the pipe causing the leak. He tells me this is very easy to fix, thank goodness. I had $10,000 repair bill nightmares running through my head. Good news is that he didn't find mold or anything like that.
  5. Carter Williams can't shoot worth a lick; he career % is less than 40% including 25% from 3. Long term maybe this makes sense but at least to me Brandon Knight right now is a far superior player to MCW. He is a good rebounder out of the guard spot though
  6. EDIT: There are some conflicting reports on what the Bucks are getting other than MCW; might be Miles Plumlee
  7. I don't know what to think about this deal. Carter Williams is a nice enough player but he isn't Knight either. Tyler Ennis is really just another guy; he hasn't gotten whole lot of minutes with the Suns. MCW is under control for longer; not sure if this deal really makes the Bucks any better and might screw up the solid chemistry right now.
  8. How would Knight and Lawson possibly work at the same time? Knight as the SG? I don't know if that is a very good idea; Knight need the ball in his hands to be effective. He never struck me as a good off the ball player.
  9. They would have a ton of restricted free agents after this season though and it would be impossible to bring everyone back. Knight, Kanter, Middleton. I would rather they find someone that has a few years left on the contract. Also 3 years from now Giannis might get awfully expensive; and Parker a little bit after that. I don't think Hammond wants to be locked into huge contracts with Knight and Kanter when that ship comes in.
  10. Oops I misinterpreted that; regardless of that I don't thin Kodi should be ahead of any of those other guys other than perhaps Knebel.
  11. Well that too I guess. Showering at the YMCA kind of freaks me out. Old guys walking around naked everyone and oblivious to their surroundings.
  12. Heck if things go really well Monte Harrison could be your CF and Taylor your LF come 2017. Optimistic for sure; but it could happen.
  13. Are they really only paying him $13 Million or is that number some cap hit or something? I can't imagine why Sanders would agree to accept only $13 Million when if he just showed up and played nice would make #11 Million a year for the next 3 years yet. I must be missing something. If they really only need to pay him $13 Million to kick his butt out then obviously this is a fantastic move; but that seems to good to be true.
  14. They can't really trade Henson, Zaza, or Ersan without getting some serious size back in the deal. Personally I would hang onto Mayo. Outside of Sanders the team seems to have an outstanding amount of chemistry right now; I would hate to screw that up. Its not like a deadline deal is all of a sudden going to make this team a title contender.
  15. Taking this from the "what's bugging you thread" my contractor determined I don't have to re-pipe for my bathroom after all; the pipes aren't original and still should be good for many years. This will save me a lot of money and actually makes my badly needed bathroom remodel pretty darn cheap. I will be without a shower in my house for about a week though so I get to shower with all the retired guys at the YMCA every morning. I am a little concerned about mold; but so long as there isn't a huge infestation it probably shouldn't be a big deal.
  16. Krod reportedly asking for a 2 year deal or a $10 Million salary on a one year deal. If that is the case Melvin should be staying far away. At this point just go with what you got and maybe add a minor league invite or two
  17. Everything I have read on Happ says he probably would be getting meaningful minutes this year if he hadn't redshirted. Personally I think Dekker comes back. If he doesn't come back and they don't get Stone there probably will be some growing pains and scoring could be a little more difficult. However Bo always seems to come up with players that contribute so I have no doubt that Pritzl, Happ, Brown, Dearing, Hill, etc will be in a position to play well next year. The also have 3 other solid commits for next year as well that could play in Charlie Thomas, Alex Illikainen, and Khalil Iverson.
  18. Yeah that doesn't make any sense. Taylor not even in a Top 200 but Kodi is? That is kind of ridiculous.
  19. Gary Payton; the guy clearly didn't want a be here and was the reason for my all time favorite Buck getting traded.
  20. You can't really get him to take anything less than what he is guaranteed right? I suppose if a new team only has to pay league minimum for Sanders he is worth the risk to them. There has to be a pretty massive untold story here; teams don't reluctantly give up on guys like Sanders without there being significant issues.
  21. I want him in Wisconsin. I know the Helena and Arizona kids are down in Arizona before their leagues open up; for legitimate prospects such as Harrison it seems like a waste to keep him in extended spring training for 2 months instead of getting game experience in WI.
  22. David Denson has quite a bit of upside in the minors at 1B; but also has a long ways to go to reach that upside. You really have to like that OBP. So long as the money required is reasonable its worth a shot to sign as many of these young Cuban prospects as possible. You are basically adding the equivalent of 1st through 3rd round picks to the farm system in most of these cases I imagine.
  23. I really don't think Ellenson will be a one and done player; not that he doesn't have the talent to be one. I think he will stick around for at least 2 years. I think Marquette could easily be good enough for the tourney next year with Wilson, Fischer, Ellenson, and the rest of the recruiting class. They will still be very young but they could be a strong team. Even if UW doesn't land Stone they have a pretty solid recruiting class coming in. Assuming Dekker comes back they likely will at least be the B10 favorite again. Koenig, Hayes, and Dekker is a really good top 3 guys. IF they get Stone that team could be every bit as good or better than this year. They will need pretty significant contributions from freshman, redshirt freshman, and other young players next year though. Pritzl might need to step in right away and be the shooter they need. The big man that is redshirting this year is supposedly holding his own in practice and should contribute next year.
  24. Mayo has been pretty darn good this year for them; part of the problem last year was obviously that the team sucked and he still wasn't getting much time. By all accounts he has been a model citizen this year and has been a really good scoring option off the bench. I would rather have him than Stephenson.
  25. Thanks for pointing out PEX, I am not a plumbing expert by any means but it seems like that might be a better option than traditional copper and certainly would save me some money. I will have to call around town to find some places that use PEX; I imagine not everyone does. Perhaps part of the reason plumbers haven't fully adopted PEX is simply because it is so much cheaper and quicker to install; less money for them. In researching online I haven't really seen a huge downside to PEX other than some problems with fittings several years ago that hopefully is resolved by now. Its cheaper, easier to install especially in a re-piping situation, is less prone to freezing than copper, and generally lasts as long as copper and other options. If you find a good installer it seems like a very good option.
