  1. I hope the season ticket holders buy up as much as possible. You would think that they would hold on to the tix rather than sell to Cubs fan given the rarity of postseason appearances.
  2. I am fine getting Santana a start in RF; he has earned it and it is becoming apparent he will be on the postseason roster. Get him as many AB's as realistically possible.
  3. Cachin - Hope for 4 clean innings Knebel - 1 Inning Burnes - 1 Inning Hader - 2 Innings Jeffress - 1 Inning
  4. Yelich has to be the leader in the clubhouse right now for MVP. I think you could make a case for Arenado as well. It is a 3 person race between Baez, Goldy, and Yelich. All else remaining equal I think Goldy would finish 3rd if the other two make the playoffs and I think Yelich and Baez are having the better statistical years anyways. Yelich is currently tied for 1st in AVE, 1st in OPS, 4th in WAR (Cain is 1st), 3rd in runs, tied for 7th in RBI, 7th in OBP, and 1st in slugging
  5. Of the three teams we might have to play in a WC; Colorado is by far the team I would prefer. At this point I am all in cheering for the Dodgers to win that division and Colorado edging STL for WC2. In all likelihood we wouldn't need to play the Dodgers until the NLCS and I am fine taking my chances at that point.
  6. So what is the number everything thinks the Brewers need to get to to win the division given the remaining schedules? I think if the Brewers get to 94-68 they win the division which would require they go 10-5 the rest of the way. With 12 games against sub .500 teams I think they can do it.
  7. I know it will never happen but I can dream of a rotation of Hader, Burnes, Peralta, Chacin, and Anderson right for next year? Baez is a better version of Carlos Gomez. They both give 100% every time out there and have fun doing it. They will make mistakes being overaggressive (See Baez's error last night) but I would absolutely take Baez on the Brewers.
  8. Granderson feels like this year's Jerry Hairston. What a huge boost he has been. Stearns is batting a really high average on his mid season pick ups this year. Not perfect but pretty darn good and we didn't need to give up any of our stud minor leaguers to do it.
  9. Pirates have also fallen further out of playoff contention this this trade and Archer has gone a grand total of 9 innings in his first two starts and has been entirely unimpressive in those starts. I don't think a 1.9 WHIP is good. It is only 2 starts I get it but not a good start to the Archer era.
  10. I really want the betting odds that Packers trade for Khalil Mack to be right but I can't see them parting with the draft picks to pull that off. It would be awesome though.
  11. Its not like there is any chance Perrin actually would have been picked in the Rule 5 though.
  12. So Johnny Hellweg 2.0?
  13. That's actually pretty cool, even if it was an extremely low budget PBS flick. I remember being a little freaked/weirded out by the bad guy. Now if only Carmen Sandiego were still around; that probably was my favorite educational game growing up. That and Oregon Trail.
  14. That's it, When looking back at it the bad guy has a striking resemblance to a larger Guy Fieiri. Thanks
  15. I am trying to think of the name of an old educational show from the 1990's. It was a reading show where there was a bad guy on a motorcycle and the kids had to solve a riddle from a book. I am not sure if it was an actual TV show or if it was just used as a teaching tool in school.
  16. Chacin has to be the best value/production signing for starting pitchers for last offseason right? With the exception of Arrieta who is a lot more expensive the FA pitching from this past offseason has bombed this year.
  17. If anything with the new additions there should be less reliance on Aguilar. Even if he falls off a cliff we still have Braun that can be 1B vs lefties and Thames vs. righties. If aguilar just stops producing entirely he just goes back to being a pretty darn good power bat off of the bench.
  18. I am fine selling high on Ray but if we are going to do that I would think our sights would on someone higher than Wheeler.
  19. If Counsell and staff didn't think Shaw was capable of playing even a mediocre 2B I don't think Stearns goes ahead with this. So obviously the coaching staff feels comfortable so I trust that this won't be a train wreck. I am sure range will be an issue but I just want the routine plays. Kind of like Thames in the OF. Even with the OBP the offense today is much better than the offense yesterday. Stearns strategy is clearly trying to make defense less of a priority. Get an awesome bullpen with huge K totals, get an offense that hopefully scores a lot of runs, and if the defense weakens to some degree than so be it. Get the lead on teams and make defensive switches late in games as necessary. To this point we have substantially improved the team while not really trading anyone of great significance IMO. Curious to see what, if anything, Stearns is still trying to pull off. Catcher or SP I would imagine.
  20. At this point Stearns shouldn't really consider bringing in any rentals. Our playoff odds have gotten substantially worse and I don't think it pays to trade away assets when it might move the needle to a one game wildcard and that's it. While it may cost more in prospects Stearns needs to focus on getting some controllable pitching in return. Maybe a SS, 2B, or C as well.
  21. As long as the medicals get delayed for another couple days I am good, don't want to play against Machado this weekend
  22. Its going to be a long 2 days until baseball starts up again. No matter what Hader does from this point people will still hate him. He could volunteer at Pride day and whatever else and people will still think he is some awful person based on what he said as a high school kid. Once the info is out there on the public domain there is no taking it back and he is judged forever. I hope he has changed but no one really knows for sure. He said some pretty nasty stuff though; he really will need to go above and beyond just an apology to show sincerity.
  23. I always thought that when someone got drafted, traded, signed, etc that someone on the Brewers staff is checking for crap like this so it can be deleted before it sees the light of day. Those are some really bad tweets, it is going to take some time for this to pass. Social Media is incredibly dangerous for teenagers, they are immature and tend to say stupid ****. I said stupid **** back then but it wasn't broadcast for the whole world to see. That being said it is horrible that at any point in someones life they actually felt those views were OK. Maybe you are uncomfortable around gay people or people of a different color, religion, whatever but to go that far in the hatred is really bad
  24. I live outside of the 5 county area paying for the stadium. The only recreational activity I pay for in Milwaukee are Brewer Games and I am not going to shift that to some other item in the 5 county area so Miller Park can count my $50 a ticket as economic impact. The same can be said for virtually every visiting team fan; they aren't coming to Milwaukee and spending money on hotel rooms, food, etc if there team was not playing the Brewers in Milwaukee.
  25. Training camp less than 2 weeks away. I am more excited this year than I have been in a while. Packers made some nice pickups this year and hopefully that results in a vastly improved D. Biggest concern is pass rush. Confident that the offense will be strong as always but they really need to hope an Allison or one of the other younger WR's step up and be a big contributor. Graham, Adams, and Cobb can only do so much.
