  1. My house was built in the 1970's and only has one outlet in the backyard. Nothing in the front. This is the sole reason I don't do Christmas lights. Also the original owners were to cheap to excavate the entire basement. 1/2 is normal height of around 8 feet; but the other 1/2 only has a height of about 4 feet. So because they didn't want to spend probably another $5,000 to excavate the entire basement we are now limited with storage space.
  2. Ah don't remind me of 2015. If we had that team this year, or really any other year besides 2015, they would win the NC. That team has to be one of the best teams ever to not win a championship. Fell 5 stupid points short primarily due the freshman tripper having the game of his life to that point.
  3. They were also essentially playing at home and made a much higher % of their shots than they have all year. They are just a case of a team that got hot for a weekend. I still would like UW's chances of winning that game. UW has about the easiest route to a National Championship game that I can remember having to potentially only beat Florida, Baylor/South Carolina, and Gonzaga/Xavier. Not saying it will happen but the opportunity is staring them in the face.
  4. Anyone watching the State Tournament last weekend saw Kobe King absolutely show he can contribute next year. Why he isn't liked more by the recruiting experts who knows. Probably his very early commitment to UW is partially to blame; didn't get the other offers that experts would use to upgrade his star rating. Davison I think can step in and be a backup PG immediately and Reuvers has a chance to be a nice 4. Great thing is that all 3 kids can shoot it and next years teams is going to need shooters. Don't like talking about next year so much when they have a real Final 4 opportunity this weekend; just pointing out Gard is doing a great job getting talent in. The true SOPH class has flamed out so far outside of Iverson but like clockwork I expect at least one of Van Vliet, Pritzl, Thomas, and Illikainen to come in next year and be a nice player. Who that is I don't know.
  5. Next year will be a transition year for sure. They will be relying heavily on Happ, Trice, and some of the younger guys to develop. The incoming freshman class I think is fantastic. I am guessing at least 2 of the 3 will play big minutes immediately and there have been stories about the redshirt Ford being a good player. Gard has done a heck of a job recruiting thus far including getting Trice and Ford basically at the last minute in 2016. I don't think they get Hauser but ultimately I think Gard will consistently get good players coming in. They have Herro for 2018 already and he is very highly regarded.
  6. Florida is a tough matchup; I think overall it will be a very low scoring game. They just beat the tar out of Virginia. They are not a particularly good offensive team but they are very good defensively and have some size to combat Hayes and Happ. Badgers have to win 55-50 or something like that I think. If and a BIG IF Wisconsin can get by Florida I really like the matchup of Baylor or South Carolina. UW usually eats teams like Baylor for breakfast and South Carolina is only there because it was a home game. Get them on a neutral court and they will be decidedly average like they were all year. I like West Virginia over Gonzaga and Michigan is a good bet to knock off Oregon. UCLA and Kentucky will be a fantastic game. I would love Butler to knock off North Carolina for very personal selfish reasons but I just can't see it happening.
  7. Seattle has a pretty terrible offensive line. If he weighs 267 he is only about 20 pounds away from being an o-lineman himself. I wouldn't mind if the Packers gave Charles, Murray, or Peterson a one year deal. It would be worth it IMO and it removes a need from the upcoming draft.
  8. I like both Tennessee teams. East Tennessee State over Florida as well. A lot of people like Vermont over Purdue but I don't see it. It would be awesome for UW to get a crack at Duke in the Regional Final. But there is nothing the Badgers have done recently that makes me think they can go through Va Tech, Villanova, and Virginia/Florida to get there. But that is the greatness of March; who the heck really knows.
  9. I really don't have a huge problem with the UW seeding. I thought they were a 7 so dropping to an 8 isn't crazy. Now how Minnesota is a 5 no one will ever know. The funny thing is that they aren't even favored in their first round game. That says something right there. VA Tech will be tough and of course so would Villanova. Not saying they will advance to Sweet 16 but they are capable. Villanova isn't unbeatable by any stretch of the imagination. UW would have to play very well though.
  10. If all they do is re-sign Perry and lose everyone else of consequence and not sign anyone of consequence this will be a colossal failure by TT. Hopefully he at least keeps Lang and Cook in GB. If he doesn't sign those guys they have like $30 Million in cap room and probably won't use hardly any of it.
  11. 6-11 or 7/10 matchups are ever easy and however the Badgers play will be one of the better teams they will have played all year. These guys know how to play and win in the tourney so that is really the only thing I feel positive about right now. Gard better hope the incoming freshman class plus Pritzl can shoot next year. The lineup next year will already include Happ and Iverson who in all likelihood still wont be able to shoot next year. Trice, Pritzl, Van Vliet, King, Reuvers, Davison - multiple people in this group are going to need to shoot well next year.
  12. Lets hope when UW gets in the tournament the other team is stupid and just doesn't hard double team Happ when he gets the ball. Teams have been doing this for 3 weeks now and UW still hasn't figured out. Well I guess they have figured it out but if you can't hit shots it doesn't really matter. Kind of sad to see how much Hayes has regressed offensively in the last 2 years. He was a great complimentary piece with Dekker/Kaminsky but he just isn't an Option #1 type of guy. Still a pretty good rebounder and defender though. Great to see Koenig get his stroke back; they will need him in the tournament big time.
  13. People need to back off the ledge a little bit; look at the some of the teams in the current 8-10 spots; a whole lot of crap. Assuming they don't end up with more than say 8 losses (They have 5 now) I don't think they are any worse than a 7. The upside is probably only a 4 and that assumes they can beat Maryland, Michigan State, and someone line Purdue in the Conference tourney. I think a 6 is what I am expecting. They are shooting terrible right now; no doubt about it. If we even shot 42% during this stretch they probably would still be on a winning streak. The key is Koenig; if he doesn't get healthy and start making shots they are in trouble.
  14. They are more likely to be a 4 or a 5 than a 1. The marquee wins will not be there at all. I think a lot would need to go right from them even to be a 2 seed. I think they can be a 2nd weekend team again but unless Koenig, Hayes, and Brown are shooting well I just can't imagine them advancing past a Sweet 16.
  15. If you are up 3 and they make it at the end of regulation the worst scenario is overtime. If you foul the worst scenario is a loss in regulation due to the additional possible scoring opportunities. Badgers will take that dude taking a step back 3 any day. I agree that eventually this offensive funk will come back to bite them. Koenig is obviously hurt and when Happ is as double teamed as hard as he was his teammates need to come and help. Happ had a horrible game passing out of the double team. Still in a good position up 2 games with about 3 weeks to go in the regular season and you still get the 3rd and 4th place teams at home yet. If they win the B10 they are probably a pretty safe bet to end up in Milwaukee
  16. It didn't feel like a Packers/Seahawks choke because there wasn't that one bone headed play that sticks out (Bostick) but yeah at the Super Bowl party I was at everyone was questions the play calling when they got to the 22. Just like that game once the Patriots won the OT toss you just knew they would go down and score. Also those catches by Julio Jones and Edelman were insane. I don't know how I would be handling things this morning if I were a Falcons fan. They were up 25 points with 2 minutes left in the 3rd Q.
  17. A couple mock drafts have Packers taking Sidney Jones, CB out of Washington Malik McDowell, DL/Rusher out of Michigan State Christian McCaffrey, RB out of Stanford Personally I think you can find decent running backs in the 3-5th rounds and would rather spend the top picks on Defense. Don't know anything about Sidney Jones. Remember McDowell a bit at Michigan State but I don't know that DL/ edge rusher is the biggest position of need right now. FWIW Walter Footballs mock as Jones in 1st round, Jeremy Nichols (RB from Boise St) in 2nd, Hasson Reddick (DE/OLB out of Temple) in 3rd round, and Scott Quessenbury (G out of UCLA) in the 4th. I will say that mock sucks because I have never heard of any of the players.
  18. I would like to think TT might change his strategy at talent acquisition since he is quite clearly coming to the end of his career here. Perhaps he'll venture into FA a bit knowing he only has probably 1 or 2 more shots to make it happen. Way to early to project who might be available in FA to help since so many guys will get re-signed before FA starts. Thompson himself has a lot of decisions to make. One would think he would resign Lang, Cook, and Perry. Beyond that who knows.
  19. For as bad as the injuries were; the only player of significance missing yesterday on defense was Shields. To be that bad while really only missing one guy is pretty bad. No one could have predicted that Rollins and Randall would regress as much as they did. Peppers and Matthews under performed pretty badly. On paper going into this year I think the defense was shaping up pretty good but between injuries and just crappy play they really underperformed. Maybe if we have made the FG and not had the fumble it would have been a better game; but even then you get the sense we would have only lost by 2 TD's instead of 3. The defense was just a siv. Ryan wasn't even making spectacular throws; guys were just wide open all the time. For what seems like the 10th year in a row they will need to go very heavy on D in the draft. They could use Corners, pass rushers, actual good middle linebackers. On O they need some more O Line depth, a RB, and another TE. Really should look to resign Cook if they can.
  20. Packers have already played several very cold weather games this year and Rodgers had pretty darn good games. So long as their is no wind; the fact that it will be 10-20 degrees won't matter much at all for either team. I am more nervous about this game then say having to go to Dallas next week. NYG have been the playoff nemesis and until they beat them I will be pessimistic. Somehow someway they need to get the Giants to just run the ball. They may score their points but make them work for it. Limit the long pass plays as much as possible. Despite OBJ the Giants offense is pretty mediocre but the state of the GB secondary is in shambles. It will take a minor miracle to keep them under 20 if the conditions are fine.
  21. If Middleton can come back around March and be close to his old self that would be huge. The one thing I believe this team is missing is a big man that is a good rebounder and shot blocker and hopefully can run the floor a bit. Henson is to limited, Monroe is too slow, and Plumlee is to sucky. This isn't an Eastern Conference Finals type of team yet but in 2017 with a fully healthy Middleton, Parker, and Giannis I would think they could give Toronto or Cleveland one heck of a series.
  22. Boogie is also a complete head case. What makes anyone think he would even want to be here? I don't want to trade good players and draft picks for 3-4 months of a head case. I don't think he is enough to all of a sudden makes this a Finals team so I would just assume ride with what they have now.
  23. So apparently as it stands today Green Bay would be in ahead of Tampa Bay based on the strength of victory tie breaker. I imagine that specific % could flip either way on the outcome of various games these last 2 weeks. If GB were to lose against DET then maybe there is still a shot at a WC; at a minimum both WAS and TB would need to lose another game. It would be anyone's guess where the final strength of victory % might end up. Tampa did not play DET or MIN and GB did not play NO or CAR so neither the common opponent tiebreaker or the conference record is going to change
  24. Just wait; Hammond will do something stupid since we are in the playoff picture and trade someone he shouldn't. Not sure who that someone would be but I cant imagine he would be stupid enough to trade any of Giannis, Parker, Maker, Brogdon, or Middleton.
  25. I think it is a little unclear who would win the head to head against Tampa. I think it is strength of victory tie breaker and it is really close. WAS would need to lose 2 and if GB wins the tie breaker against TB they would need to lose one more. Again not sure how GB vs. TB will shake out and best bet is too simply beat MN and DET to remove all doubt. If they win the division they are probably the 4 seed which means a rematch against NYG. It would be nice to get some revenge in the playoffs against them.
