  1. That is a whopping 4 today. Might as well shoot for 5 the next inning if we actually manage a base runner against Reed
  2. Weeks against Ziegler is not going to end in the Brewers favor. I would be surprised if Weeks even makes contact
  3. Arroyo is known for gopher balls; would it just kill someone on the Brewers to hit a mistake pitch once in a while. These double plays are just maddening.
  4. Can we please get some hits and runs here? If we lose to Bronson Arroyo I might cry. I simply don't like him and I have no idea why.
  5. I see Lucroy is taking on Aram's role as the Double Play master today.
  6. If they are still in it and Davis hasn't come around yet; I am sure LF will be a pretty big priority. Who knows would be available but I am sure DM would be looking pretty hard for a corner outfielder.
  7. I am still hoping the new owners will clean house when they officially take over. I don't see any reason why they would want to keep around the staff that led to this mess in the first place. Just start fresh. Timing is an issue though; they would need to act immediately to give the new staff time to prepare for the draft. I agree on Jackson; I think he has some ego issues and would struggle in a rebuilding situation. I have no idea who I would look to for the Bucks but there has got to be someone better than Drew or Jackson. I don't really follow the NBA close enough to know who the up and coming assistant coaches are that the Bucks could go after.
  8. I would probably rather play Schafer out there. Schafer is the one with the bigger overall role on the team; might as well let him get some AB's. It certainly looks like LF is the one glaring weakness on the team that hopefully could be remedied at the trade deadline. I don't want to give up on Davis yet but you just can't continue going to a guy that refuses to walk and in general is having trouble making good contact.
  9. Never mind that the offense has been completely inept again and probably should have been limited to only 1 run in the first inning; this loss is totally on RR. Its not like Estrada and Kintzler didn't serve up gopher balls or anything. Figures as soon as the bullpen blows a game the manager gets immediately blamed for everything.
  10. Well Kintzler has been a good reliever since the start of last year; easy to criticize after he has a bad game. We all knew the time would eventually come when the bullpen blows a game. People were complaining that Thornburg, Smith, and Krod were being used to much and now they are complaining when they weren't used over a perfectly competent set up man in Kintzler. He had a bad game; it happens.
  11. I have no problems with bunting when you have guys that are actually capable of doing it. The pitching has been very strong for the most part and the offense has struggled. RR is just trying to manufacture runs any way he can because the way the pitching has gone you feel pretty good if you can get to 4 runs on most nights. Just don't have Overbay, Maldonado, and Davis bunt. One look and you can tell they suck at it. Just leave it to pitchers and guys like Gennett, Gomez, Schafer, and Segura who could all beat the throw with a good bunt anyways.
  12. The single worst managerial move in the history of bullpen management still is the decision to have Brian Shouse intentionally walk Ryan Howard to face a right hander. I could never find even the semblance of logic behind that move. This site pretty much went berserk after that game; although thankfully I have forgotten some of the other details
  13. The pitching so far has gone better than anyone could have hoped. Nelson, Fiers, Suter, Bradley, Jungmann have all met or exceeded expectations. Perhaps there isn't elite talent there but they do give the Crew a lot of organizational depth. Hopefully Nelson and at least one other in the group turns into solid MLB starters. I would be pretty incredibly if Bradley somehow resurrects his career and makes a contribution to Milwaukee; I think most people including myself that he was done. The hitting prospects have been entirely underwhelming but perhaps that is turning around a bit here. Reed, Roache, Taylor, and Denson have gotten better recently. Haniger has probably been the biggest disappointment. Morris has merely been OK; he is looking like a LH platoon player at best right now. I am hoping Rogers can develop into a decent 3b Prospect; we definitely need one of those since Delmonico has had some personal issues setting him back this year. Rogers has been OK this year to; he is pretty similar to Khris Davis in that he has hit everywhere he has gone but has flown under the radar. He can take a walk and while he does K, he doesn't do it exhorbitantly
  14. Denson and Roache both with great days. Even though Denson's BA is nothing to write home about he is carrying a nice OBP. Nice skill set to have for such a young kid
  15. Ramirez needs to come around now if this team will score at all with Braun sidelined. He has basically been terrible for the entire last week.
  16. Both Jungmann and Nelson looking good so far today
  17. Brewers are really making matters worse by demoting Herrera is you ask me. Reynolds is going to the starting RF, Overbay starting 1B, and Ramirez the starting 3B. If any of those 3 gets hurt during the course of the game there is literally no one that can sub assuming Braun simply can't go. Your only option is throwing a pitcher somewhere; asking Weeks to play in RF, or perhaps throwing Maldy at 1st and making adjustments as necessary. None of those are good options. I would have rather DL's Braun or simply stood pat. Thornburg, Smith, , Krod, and Kintzler all got the day off yesterday so the bullpen isn't in that bad of shape unless Estrada goes like 3 innings or you go into extra frames.
  18. Morris is having a decent year this year with a 830 OPS. So far he has been quite a bit better than his very mediocre 2013. He still needs to walk more though. He has to be their first 1st base call up if needed.
  19. That is a great USA today story. Its awesome that this team has the chemistry it has. Maybe that doesn't add tangible wins but it certainly cant hurt.
  20. I want to see Khris Davis pitching. He can probably zip it in there around 75 MPH or so. Prince probably would top out around 60.
  21. Holy Fiers; he has been on quite a run here.
  22. Wang isn't really fooling anyone right now. 2 out of 3 is more than I hoped for so I am just not going to get upset about this game
  23. Well my "I need to go to bed" motivation isn't going to work today. This lineup is better than yesterday but only marginally so. Hopefully Miller gets a little wild and we get that pitch count up. I would much rather have the every day guys in there; but it was refreshing how the last night's lineup was able to work the count and make the Cards work for the outs. Of course that really has been our only hope this series. If only our star players could learn to be a little bit more patient and take some walks as well.
  24. Sooner or later Krod is going to come down to earth. We can't possible maintain having 3 relievers with an ERA; it just isn't possible. When the inevitable blown save for Krod does happen everyone needs to breath and think back to this time. Even though they won't stay this good; there is a tremendous amount of talent in the bullpen and it should continue to be a major asset throughout the year.
  25. MLB Network has been a godsend. They are always willing to talk about whatever team they want and don't feel obligated to cover the big market teams only. If your team is hot they will devote a lot of time to that team. Some of the guys on there are certainly blowhards but they at least make an effort to cover teams not on the East Cost or in LA. I don't even bother trying to watch Baseball Tonight anymore.
