  1. Taylor Green might get a shot at 1st before long; the hot start by Reynolds is long gone and Overbay still hasn't done anything. Just dump both of them and bring up Green and Halton. Can't be any worse
  2. A hotel wouldn't cost anywhere near $100 Million though. You could build a 150 room hotel for at or less than $30 Million not including any land costs. A $100 Million hotel would either have to be a taj mahal or like 400 rooms. I am sure it would never happen but I think there would be a market for it. Even with only 81 home dates a hotel in the area could still get decent enough traffic if it has easy access to the highway.
  3. I agree it would be pretty awesome if you could stay in a hotel and walk to the game. The hotel could even have a designated tailgating area. I don't know if they can spare any parking lot but I would think there is a way you could fit one in there.
  4. I took a week off and I wish it would have been longer. Your wife really needs you those first couple of days. I suppose most major league wives have nannies that can help too. Either way you should spend time with your wife after such a big event like a birth of a child.
  5. I forgot about Coulter; his early power is encouraging for sure. Everyone other than those two have been pretty underwhelming. I was really hoping for strong starts out of Haniger and Roache.
  6. I am guessing there won't be much outrage with Lyle taking paternity leave.
  7. Parker officially declared so every player we thought was going to declare did. No matter where the Bucks end up they should get a solid player. I am assuming the Bucks will end up with one of Parker, Wiggins, Embiid, or Exum. I really hope they end up with Wiggins or Parker; preferably Parker. The new owners should present an interesting dynamic with the draft. We really have no idea what their philosophy will be. We knew Kohl wanted to win all the time; I wonder if the new guys would be willing to trade some young players for additional draft picks? Henson, Knight, and Middleton could all conceivably get MIL back into the first round if we give up a 2nd rounder or two as well.
  8. So far the minor league pitching has been far better than the hitting. Still waiting for hitters, perhaps outside of Taylor, to emerge
  9. If they have $200 Million in cash and maybe another $150 Million in private financing, that only leaves $150 Million or so in public financing. I would think that level of debt could actually be retired fairly quick through a sales tax, TIF district, or something similar How much of Miller Park was publically financed? A new NBA arena will surely be far less dependent on public money
  10. Arizona's "grittiness" is not exactly paying dividends right now. I guess you apparently also need talent in addition to grit to win games. Who knew?
  11. I don't think there is anyway you can start construction on something like this within a year or even two years. There are so many legal hoops to go through. Plus it will probably take 2-3 year just to get it built. I mean you have to find the land, figure out project costs, probably some sort of financing, developers agreements, etc, etc. It isn't going to be easy even with $200 Million going in. They probably don't need to find another 300 million because I am sure a portion of that will be financed by a bank or other source
  12. Oops yes of course I meant disappointing series. The season has been far from disappointing; a rousing success for sure.
  13. Peralta is pretty damn good. Overall a pretty disappointing season but I am certainly not complaining sitting at 11-4 after having already played 4 playoff teams plus what is expected to be a decent Philly team.
  14. I have heard around $400 Million or so; so they probably still need $200 Million from somewhere. I imagine at least some of that has to come from the government/tax payers.
  15. Yeah both Jungmann and Nelson with pretty good starts. I have always had a high opinion on Nelson but Jungmann's start this year is making me think he has a chance to be a decent 3/4 at the big league level.
  16. What is Mark A's Net Worth. Bucks got a couple guys from NY worth about $3 Billion that are probably a pretty significant amount of the $550 Million purchase price. I doubt they have a whole lot left over to contribute towards a $400 Million arena. Kohl made a crazy amount of money on the team. Bought it for $18 Million and sold it for $550 Million. Donating a portion of that would at least help with his massive capital gains bill he will have.
  17. It is on MLB network for those that have it Nice first inning by Wily. Now lets try to get more than 3 hits this game
  18. Hopefully Peralta can get us a W today; but it is clear the Cards still own us and have the better team. Not saying we couldn't beat them in a 5 or 7 game series if we had to; but the Cards 3rd and 4th starters just absolutely dominated us at home and both Lynn and Miller had previously had rough starts to their year.
  19. Did everyone see the pitch Davis swung at in his last AB? It would have been behind him if he was a left hander. All of the Cardinals pitchers has exposed our lack of patience at the plate. Even though they took a couple walks yesterday it was clear the strategy was to avoid throwing strikes unless they had to. For the most part the Brewers obliged and swung at a lot of junk.
  20. Well so far OSU is losing basically everyone; MSU is losing Payne, Harris, and Appling, Michigan is losing Robinson, and Stauskas. Not sure what Iowa is bringing back. I am pretty sure Nebraska is losing quite a bit too. Wisconsin better just own the B10 next year; the conference looks like it is going to be down.
  21. The good feeling of a 9 game winning streak sure have evaporates quickly. I guess that what happens when you are clearly outplayed by a team that basically owns us. Just getting beaten up bad here.
  22. I am really getting sick of these first pitch outs. Cards are just doing what every team in MLB should be doing; don't throw us strikes. We swing at anything
  23. These have been two pretty lifeless games so far. Hitters aren't making good contact at all; not even putting up a fight. Davis swung at a pitch that was about a foot high and a foot outside. Really? Khris you don't have to swing at everything
  24. Gomez' success is now going on 1 and 1/2 years so I would definitely say he is a legitimate all star player right now. Maybe not a superstar but there aren't too many players in the game that have the tools and production he has had recently. If there is a complaint about him its he gets way to aggressive; both at the plate and on the bases. He plays recklessly at times; but that is just his style. He was a young player that came up the bigs with the Mets and Twins way to early. He simply wasn't ready; hell he wasn't ready the first 2 years as a Brewer either. He perhaps was a little slow developing but he is certainly coming into his own now.
