I was referring to Braun and Segura yes. But I understand Lucroy and Gomez are as valuable if not more to the Brewers than Segura. I am wondering today what the upside is for Khris Davis. Can he throw a 900 OPS out there? Can he be a perennial all star? Did he ever show on any prospect list? If not how can that be, the kid as always hit?
Marquette officially has a defect; the #77 player in this year's class has decommitted. He still lists Marquette in his top 4 along with V Tech, Gonzaga, and Florida (What a weird 4 by the way)
Brewers currently lead MLB in ERA and 2nd in WHIP. 4-2 against 2 very good teams while arguably our two best players from last year had pretty poor 1st weeks.
I think he could have pressed him a bit more but that also goes against conventional BBall wisdom. Despite his recent heroics you would still rather have Harrison hitting a 25 foot shot than have him driving right by you for an easier shot or kick out. I knew he was going to make that. It just sucks that the Badgers were little within in inch of making the title game. Those opportunities just don't come around very often. Hopefully Jackson is holding up OK; he had some screw ups in the last couple minutes and I hope he isn't taking it to hard.
I could of swore I saw Henderson hitting 95 on the gun in one of the Braves games. Its not like the guy is all of a sudden only throwing 88 or something. It is just kind of odd that he got benched before he even had a chance to screw up. Not saying that is a bad thing though. Usually closers have to pitch there way out of the job; especially ones that did so well last year.
I am already happy with 3-3; beating Lester would be icing on the cake. Overall a pretty solid first week; rotation has been great and the offense has started to pick it up a bit. Braun and his health is the biggest concern right now.
I take some comfort in knowing UW should be pretty darn good next year. Curious who will take Brust's spot. Koenigs could come in and play the 1/2 or they could start Hayes and move Dekker to SF where he belongs. It would also be nice to get development from Brown. He is long and athletic and would help UW when they run into teams like Kentucky.
I just had that feeling that Jackson had to hit all 3 free throws. Kentucky has just hit all the big shots. This one is so tough to take; especially with a very beatable team waiting for you in the championship. Not sure I will be able to sleep tonight; at least we have virtually this entire team coming back next year. They had a shot at the end and came up just short. Would rather have lost by 15
Kentucky has just hit every big shot that they needed the entire tournament. Props to them. The kid hit a deep three; what are you going to do? Of course Jackson could have hit all 3 of those free throws. The way Kentucky has played this tourney you just knew that last possession they were going for the win. Real tough loss but a darn good game
Hey we are winning at the half with 2 points from Kaminsky. I consider that a win. Brust, Koenig, and Dekker playing well. UW has got a chance at the title game for sure.
Just turned on the pregame show (What is this the Super Bowl now) and it was pretty much unanimous for Kentucky. While it wouldn't be a monumental upset or anything; I still feel pretty confident that UW will give them everything they can handle. This isn't Kentucky of 2012; they are not as good as that team and hopefully we can get them rattled with a nice start
Well it is gameday!!!! Honestly I will be happy if UW plays them tight to the finish in a great game. If UW just comes out flat and not hitting their shots it might be a long night. Please do not fall behind early. I wish the Brewers played an afternoon game today.
If they can win this game starting out 2-2 against the Braves and Red Sox would actually be pretty solid. I am ecstatic about the pitching thus far but we need the offense to start living up to its capability and get some darn hits with RISP.
That probably isn't a fair assessment through 3 + games. The pitching has been great but at least thus far the presumed strength of the team, offense, has been pretty bad. I am hoping it will turn around soon.
