Does anyone know of any stores in Madison that carry a good selection of Brewers merchandise? I'm going to all 3 games at Wrigley this weekend and I need some new gear. Since I'm taking I-90 to Illinois, stopping in Milwaukee isn't an option. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

They relaxed the rules on this a long time ago. I can think of about 10 different kinds of liquor that I've seen ads on TV for in the past week.

Why is there so much frustration about the mailings and TV ads? Believe me, I hate Charter as much as the rest of you, but it's literally the same advertising as you would get from any other company. I get the mailings.....and they go directly into the trash, along with the 6 other pieces of junk mail I receive on a daily basis. And if they weren't running TV ads, you would just be seeing an ad for a casino or laundry detergent anyway......does anyone actually enjoy commercials? Just tune them out like everyone else. I guess if you were an environmentalist and worried about our landfills, the mailings would bother you, but otherwise it seems like a pretty ridiculous thing to get upset about.

Brauns - I think 2 of those 6 series you reference are on the road. One against the D-Backs, and we play the Braves in Atlanta the weekend of Sep. 22 But you do make a good point and I am optimistic about the rest of the season.

It would be a great opportunity for fans of the team and give people incentive to start writing about the team and providing more national exposure. How cool would it be to do a live-blog from inside Miller Park, or to ask a few questions to the players after the game?

What Casey is talking about is running from the cable box to multiple screens. That would cause each screen to display the channel selected on the cable box.

Agreed....I watched the replay tonight and saw it far differently when I was able to focus on what is ACTUALLY happening. For instance, the man at the counter never actually looked at Tony, as far as I could tell, even when he passed the Sopranos' table on his way to the restroom. He looked way less suspicious the 2nd time around when I actually studied his mannerisms rather than being caught up in the suspense. I think it just ended, as Tony heard the chime and saw his daughter enter the restaurant.

First off, the theory that the guy in the restaurant was Nikky Leotardo has been debunked. www.phillyburbs.com/pb-dyn/news/111-06092007-1360360.html Secondly, just to respond to TheCrew07 - there was an episode just a few weeks ago where Silvio was having dinner with a New York guy and 2 hitmen walked in and shot him.....Silvio crawls away with the 2 goomahs. So a restaurant hit is definitely within the realm of possibility.

Yeah, the other thing I was thinking about this morning.....if you assume that the guy at the lunch counter was a hitman, he has to be the most unprofessional and stupid hitman of all time. Every gunshot hit that they have shown on the Sopranos follows pretty much the same M.O. - you walk in, shoot, and leave. You never see a guy hang around and make his presence known for 5 minutes before carrying out the task at hand. That's just leaving yourself open to more eyewitnesses. My favorite subtle nuance of the episode: when Tony was talking to Junior and mentioned "this thing of ours", and Junior immediately knew that he was referring to the Mafia, even in such a senile state. Edit: just read TooLiveBrew's synopsis.....holy crap, I totally missed that. Maybe Tony did croak.

M - "Casino Royale"

I don't buy the whole "Tony dies" theory. After the meeting in the warehouse, the New York underbosses were cool with Tony, and understood that he was still planning to whack Phil. A "cease fire" had been arranged, everyone went back to their daily lives (the Sopranos moving back into their house, the boys hanging outside the pork store, etc.) There should have been no retaliation after Phil's murder.....Butch even told Tony "do what you have to do." Not to mention that they agreed to give reparations to Janice and the kids. You can rule out Lil' Carmine automatically, as he was a close friend of Tony's (and just gave AJ a job). Every notable character left in Tony's crew was incredibly loyal - Paulie, Patsy (another automatic rule-out considering his son was marrying Meadow), Walden, and Benny. Everyone except that rat-fink Carlo, who was in witness protection. If a hit was ordered, there would have to be surveillance on Tony, or they would have needed prior knowledge that he was going to Holsten's for dinner (which is basically impossible). I guess you could say "Tony pissed off a lot of people over the years" but it just doesn't add up for me. If the assumption is that the guy at the lunch counter was a hitman, that means somebody had to pay him. Hesh wouldn't have the balls. Who else is there? I don't trust Butch 100% but you'd think that there would be a power struggle in New York with Phil gone that he would have to worry about first. Thoughts? (Note: I'm basically just riffing off some of the comments left on the HBO message board, a lot of people seem to think Tony got shot.)
