  1. Houle confirms that Al is out, so we are indeed a man short and need a sub. 1. Radman 2. nullbyte 3. firenick 4. valpo 5. jon 6. houle 7. beeks 8. schubert 9. Drick 10. Sub??
  2. Houle texted me yesterday to say Al is probably out this week. If that stands, we're 1 player short even if everyone else makes it.
  3. I think this is the reason Lucroy will continue to bat 8th. It's been my presumption all along, at least. I'm sure other young cathers like Wieters and Posey bat near the top of the lineup, so I'm not so sure why Lucroy couldn't, but it's at least a semi-logical reason.
  4. Cancel today's practice? The forecast is for a high temperature of barely 50 degrees with 25 MPH winds. That doesn't sound like fun at all....
  5. Sunday seems to be the better day. I'd like to watch the weather a little more and pick a time based on that. Probably mid afternoon ish?
  6. Thanks. As I said in the Fees thread, it's okay if it waits until Game 1 too.
  7. Giving the fees topic its own thread. Looks like we're rolling into the season with 11 official members, so that's how we'll be splitting the costs. I ended up not collecting any fees at the last practice, I guess fees and player registration cards can just wait until Game 1 ... shouldn't be a problem. We paid a team fee back in February and were required to purchase 12 game balls at $4.50 each. Each player's total fees include a share of those costs plus a $15 player fee. All told, it's $42.00 each (details below), unless a 12th official member surfaces in the next few days.... (($240 team fee + $57.02 game balls) / 11 players) + $15 player fee = ~$42.00 Also, it's really unlikely that I'll be able to give out change, so exact change or a check would be best.
  8. Just making a note that GomezMatt is out on June 30th.
  9. 1. Radman 2. nullbyte 3. firenick 4. valpo 5.
  10. I am free either day. Weather forecast looks terrible both days. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Here's how the availability is looking each day... Saturday: Nick (early only) Houle (late only) nullbyte valpo Sunday: radman Gomez Beeks valpo Sunday looking a little better, especially if nullbyte and Houle are also in that day?
  11. Welcome aboard, Jon! Stay tuned for an announcement about our next practice, hopefully this upcoming Saturday or Sunday. Season starts in a week and a half, May 19th.
  12. It's really up to you. If you can get your $40 worth despite the games you'll be missing, we'll sign you up as an official member. We're a little short-handed so it'd be great to have you on the team. But it's understanable if it's not worth it to you due to your schedule ... we can just drop you a line when substitutes are needed during the season.
  13. No problem, Mother's Day is expected to be busy. Hopefully we'll get one more practice in and have a full crowd....
  14. I need to start get registration cards filled out by all the players so I can turn them into the Rec Dept. I think they're technically due before the first game. I'll bring the cards to this practice to get a start on that. I would also like to start collecting fees. I paid the team fee back in February and purchased game balls yesterday. Everyone's total fees include a share of those costs plus a $15 player fee. To break down the shared costs, I guess I'll assume we get 12 guys (even though we currently only have 10!). The total is $39.75 (details below). If we end up with only 11 guys, that toal becomes $42.00 and if we have only 10 guys it's $44.70 -- kindof a big difference when added up that I'd rather not cover myself, so let's hope it doesn't come to that. (($240 team fee + $57.02 game balls) / 12) + $15 player fee = ~$39.75 If players could bring cash/checkbook with them to practice, that would be great.
  15. Down to 10. Recte PM'd me saying he's changed jobs and probably can't do the team this year. We need a couple more guys ASAP. I posted a recruiting thread in the Off Topic forum yesterday, but it hasn't garnered any action....
  16. Recte PM'd me and said he's out (and unfrtounately he also said he's changed jobs and can't commit to the team this year). Nothing from the other two.
  17. Oh my god ... we just plated three runs in a crucial 9th inning because of Kotsay, Gomez, and Yuni. Wow.
  18. Yo is back!! Too bad we couldn't give him better run support, I fear for the 9th. Maybe we'll get some Badger Mutual insurance runs in the top half.
  19. It would be classic Brewers/small-market luck to have a very special pitching performance trumped in the national media by an even rarer, more special pitching performance on the same day.
  20. I've seen enough small ball epic fail in one month to last me the rest of my life. Please, no mas.
  21. Wow, so hard to take the guy out after he makes a defensive play like that. Just went from a chance for 110+ pitches through 7 to what, 103?, through 7 due to the great double play started by Yo. He'll get to start the 8th ... then we'll just go from there. A 120 CG is possible.
  22. Just reached 100 pitches with only 1 out in the 7th ... RRR has to take him out after this inning. Or even during the inning if continues walking guys like he just did with Berkman.
  23. We're set on a time, 4:00 PM. I think we'll have six guys: Houle Al Radman Firenick nullbyte valpo I heard from BrewerfanMatt and he's out, I'm also told Beeks is out. I have not heard from Drick, Tyler, or Recte ... I PM'd them earlier.
