    Weeks is a really, really, really bad baseball player. It's just the truth, he is an awful Major League player. And Prince's month-long crapulence, utter crapulence, has me ready to hurt someone. I'd aim said agression at Prince himself if I thought any Earthly matter stood a chance at penetrating his 11 layers of whaley blubber.

    Prince has now gone 90 straight plate appearances without an extra base hit. Coming into today's game, his last 19 games have produced a line of: .167 BA, .271 OBP, .167 SLG, and .438 OPS. August 14th through September 5th with our cleanup hitter sporting a .167 SLG and .438 OPS. He REALLY needs to get his act together and help this team score some runs. Factor in his god awful defense and we'd literally be much better off having started someone like Counsell at 1B for the previous 20 days or so. Prince has been quietly atrocious.     He has averaged 4 doubles a month for the first 5 months of the year, but now he'll definitely get 9 in September? Wha?? He's on pace for 25 or 26, I wouldn't use this as exhibit A in the case against whether Prince's fatty body is leading to less doubles.

    His last two weeks at the plate have been pathetic. .163 BA, .163 SLG (no extra base hits), and .422 OPS in the last 13 games coming into today. Downright awful.

    He was signed following a year the Brewers filled rotation spots 25 times with the likes of De La Rosa, Ben Hendrickson, Zach Jackson, Dana Eveland, Rick Helling, Villy, and Geremi Gonzalez (no-wammy-no-wammy-stop). On balance, those starts were pretty awful and cost the 2006 team badly. Nothing wrong with getting 6 IP @ 3 ER consistently to replace that awful production ... from a guy you could pretty much count on not to get hurt. "Suppan is one of only 7 ballplayers who pitched in the NL in 2007 who won at least 12 games in each year from 2004-07, the others being Carlos Zambrano, Greg Maddux, Roy Oswalt, Tim Hudson, Derek Lowe, and Jason Marquis." (wikipedia) We all know Suppan isn't great, but isn't he almost the definition of SP reliability?

    ESPN finds ways to screw up the simplest things. Kapler makes one of the most amazing catches of the 2008 MLB season ... perhaps one of the most amazing all time ... to contribute to a meaningful win against two potential playoff teams in late August. Of course, it only registers as #2 on tonight's Top Plays list behind a very pedestrian Reggie Bush hurdle over a defender for a TD in a completely meaningless pre-season game. For the 50th time, ESPN is the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked. I mean, you gotta be kidding....
