  1. towards the end, it kinda sounded like Sr. wants TGJ to be traded so he can play more.
  2. It's comments like this that prove some fans dont have any frickin clue. if anything you need to relax dude.
  3. i had no idea to vote for this..maybe an updated thread would help.. I would be willing to bet i'm not the only one that didn't know to vote. I would think we would catch up really fast if everyone on here knew about it.
  4. he was a very good college basketball coach, wake is always a good team. sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2950229
  5. ugh...this is like a big kick to the balls. I have the wind knocked out of me and can't even make an attempt to put down whats in my head righ tnow.
  6. all i'm saying is that sure guys need days off. but not when you really need a win. and don't discount players just because they aren't pro. there are guys that I know that play more than you would think. and travel by car to get around the US.
  7. I think you should tell your softball/baseball/tennis/triathalon coaches that you could use a day off...you seem to be slightly fatigued, and pressing in your posts. and i think you're crossing the line.
  8. And if you are taking more balls off the body than them, you should find a new position. have you ever played softball at all? have you ever played the infield during softball at all. When a guy that is pitching groove ball to a guy that can hit a ball 400ft. The fields are all torn up, you get bad hops all the time.. i haven't agreed with one thing you have ever said, please don't talk to me anymore. or respond to anything i write.
  9. We can't play or manage. If anyone could, why are you working your job and not making millions hanging out in a dugout because I'm not good enough to play at their level. and no i'm not kidding. I make thousands of throws a year, my arm is about to fall off. when these guys get hurt or even if they are hurting they have people to help them out. massage them. sure they have to go on the road and that has to suck to be away from their family. but its not like they are roughing it. they pack a suit case and everything else is done for them. but just because people aren't good enough to play pro, doesn't mean they don't play as much as they do. There are guys that I play with that play every day of the week including weekends. and just because its softball doesn't mean that you dont run as much, or throw as much or take balls of your shoulders or somewhere on their body. if anything softball players take more balls of their bodies in a hr then a baseball player takes in a week.
  10. I'm happy for Brady. A guy that hustles and works hard at becoming a better player. Hopefully he does well and sticks around for awhile.
  11. Yes the need days off. and baseball does take its toll through the year. and yes, I have played lots of baseball and softball in my life..i just got done with a softball tourny that went from 9am-1230am..I know what toll it takes believe me.. these guys work out or should work out every day in the off season to get ready for the dog days of summer..Then during the season they work out to stay in shape. an off day here in there is fine, but please don't tell me that because I'm not a pro I wouldn't want to be in their postion. There are a couple guys on this board that know me, and how much that I really do play. and just for the record, I only wanted to see our full line up. Giving Prince a day off is OK, as long as the rest of the guys are playing. Giving half our line up a day off on the same day is never ok
  12. I would say the same thing, but I think it's just something non-athletes say, and you'd realize it's not actually true in the summer I play softball sun, 2x on tues, wed, and thurs, on the days that I don't play softball I play baseball 2 or 3 times a week. After sundays softball or baseball game I play tennis for 2-3 hrs a night. This starts in april and goes til the end of fall. I would easily be happy to be able to play sports for a living. now softball isn't the same as a baseball game, but I would be willing to bet I run just as much if not more than anyone on the infield does in a baseball game.
  13. Why don't you work 29 days a month? if i was playing baseball I would easily be willing to play 29 days in a row, working at my job now, not so much. Like I said, I would like the full line up to play, needing to split the series. but giving 1 guy off is ok, giving half the line up a day off isn't.
  14. And I can't believe people are still complaining Braun sat, seeing as he's hurt! Braun isn't hurt. He PH last night and was OK to play. Plus he is back in the line up today. It was rest but for some reason every time someone sits because of rest they spin it and say they are hurting.
  15. I would like to see the full line up in for once. Since we have every one back and we really can't afford to lose another series on the raod to another bad team.
  16. Give Ned Yost credit. Every time we get on him for doing something dumb, he finds a way to out-do himself. "I mean...you thought that LINEUP was dumb. Hell, wait until I send Prince from first base on a 3-2 pitch to Jenkins. Ha! I did it again!!" hahaha, that was really funny. what tricks does he have in his bag today?
  17. The line up pretty much said, "I give this game to the Reds". We finally got out full line up back and he puts that crap on the field. Yosted even thinking about doing a hit and run with Jenkins up who Ks a lot, Prince on 1st and a slow Mench at 3rd is plain stupid. He ran them right out of that inning and any chance for them to make a come back. Yosted. oh, and IBTL
  18. Wow jason, you're pretty generous. The only thing that keeps it from being an "F" lineup for me is Prince. I am aren't I? It seems every time Yost sits someone he has say its becuase they aren't feeling well, or something is tweaked a little not because he just wanted to sit them. These guys are young, they shouldn't be tired, PLAY THEM!. Damn I hate Yost. I am a Yost hater.
  19. yosted hard core today. having a hit and run with Jenkins up and prince running is just flat out stupid. Add that with the C lineup he put out there, and Suppan pitching there was no chance for a win today. Yost needs to go.
  20. Can we stop calling this a playoff run? what would you like to call it then? since its a team in the first place trying to make the playoffs, I'll say its a playoff run. but I can't understand all the rush to have to find "blame" on a particular pitcher, hitter, fielder, coach for every god darn loss that happens to this team I never blamed the loss on him or yost. but not to hustle in that situstion is totally inexcusable and for yost to keep batting him 5th is also totally inexcusable. It's not Sept 28th, it's not must win its not a must win no, but these games are huge to win because these are the games we are going to need down the stretch. but this is baseball, not one play does a game make so why the quickness to blame Estrada and basically start a thread that he doesn't care about his job over 1 failed task one play can make a game though. if he hustles it out, and the catcher does throw it away, that one play could have turned around the whole game. I say he is lazy because every time there is a ball in the dirt he comes up on it and trys to short hop it. A good catcher goes down to block the ball. Every time he rolls over a ball and hits it to second he might as well just walk to first becuase he little jog isn't doing anything.
  21. Yo has been pitching awesome so far so hopefully this is a game we can win. Although the bats need to show up tonight.
  22. Is this going to turn into another "Can Bill Hall Pitch?"-type threads? well, can he? I wouldn't mess where Braun is right now. He is out of his mind and I would ride that til its over.
  23. Who cares if he is out by a step or 4 I care! I care big time. You bust you butt til you're out. Thats how I have always been taught. Even in a little game of softball, if I hit a ball to the pitcher, where I know i'm going to be out 99 out of 100 times I run as hard as I can. You are paid to play the game full out. It takes a player 5 secs to run to first, its not much to ask of a player to run those 5 seconds as hard as he can. i really can't believe that people are saying that its ok not to hustle. If I were a manager of a team, there is no way you would be playing the next game if you dogged it down the line. am I mad that he hit into a DP, yeah, that sucks. Did he try to do that? No, but not running hard is where I have a major problem with it.
  24. The less than full out run to first last night on that 3-2-3 double play ball, didn't really bother me that much. I'm sorry but how can that not bother you? You are in an extra innings game in a playoff run, you had better be running hard on every play. Hustling is one thing that every player can control. You don't need talent to hustle, to run fas yes but not to bust your butt down the line.
