  1. That would destroy our pitching depth.
  2. .545 .604 1.295, maybe I should get a Braun Walk Off Shirt! Yeah, I can't wait to see Braun hit a lefty. Heck, he probably can't either.
  3. Wow, our bullpen has some fine-looking ERA's.
  4. I believe Yost or Melvin said in a recent Brewers article that a 5th starter is only needed 3 times in August. That's a convenient way to limit his innings.
  5. This Cordero guy just may pan out.
  6. The first two trades are being talked about in other threads, so I don't think there's much purpose in duplicating those discussions, and would suggest people focus on #3.
  7. If the Brewers make the playoffs Yost will be a near unanimous MOY winner.
  8. Not to mention he could be developing even further down in AAA if he's just going to sit in the Crew's pen and waste. What's it going to take for people to finally grasp the concept of limiting innings? I can't believe this hasn't sunk in yet.
  9. Another option might be to use an existing feedback solution like heatware.com.
  10. Hey, it's an odd year, who cares what he does in the even years? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Isn't Saberhagen the other classic every other year example? edit: Hm, not really, although he did have some up and down. His '89 season was amazing: 23-6, 2.16 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 8.39 K/BB Who am I thinking of? edit2: Maybe I'm fooling myself, but I swear it was some 80s-90s pitcher. I really thought it was Saberhagen.
  11. Looks as though HoJo will be sharing the duties with Rickey when he comes on board. Rotowire's latest update indicates HoJo will now be the hitting coach, and Rickey will be 1B coach. Which makes way more sense.
  12. Do you think this thread should be used to discuss the articles, or perhaps, in the interest of usability, it should remain more of an index of articles with links to discussions of the articles? This kinda came up before, and I guess I would say that if an article is going to generate a substantial amount of discussion, it should have its own thread, but if it's just a post or 2 in response, I don't have a problem with that occurring in-thread. But I don't have any strong feelings one way or the other, if enough people felt that it should only be an index. The only forseeable problem with that is then if people start new threads for each article they want to comment on, you're back to the original situation that the tracker was created to help combat.
  13. He did say that he advocated bringing up Braun and Gallardo and those moves worked out Wow, what a genius! I was totally caught by surprise that they were actually good.
  14. Yo gets screwed again. That sucks.
  15. Well, at least he got an out before giving up a walk.
  16. Haha, Mench must read this thread!
  17. If the forum pages were actually part of bf.net, that value goes waaaay up.
  18. If nothing else, you could add the money to a target retirement or life cycle fund closest to your retirement date. All the big fund companies offer them I don't know about other companies, but when I looked at Fidelity's "Freedom" funds compared to the other mutual fund options options we have, the performance was crap. It's probably good for someone who doesn't know anything and doesn't want to think about it very much, but I definitely didn't want to do that.
  19. Cordero is also good. Let's get a walkoff!
  20. My favorite stat about Ensberg is that last year his BA was .235, and his OBP was .396. That's amazing. His OBP is consistently ~100 points higher than his BA. If he was hitting anything more than .219 right now I'd love to have him.
