    I don't see any real benefit in Braun and Prince swapping spots. If anything, Braun 2nd and Hall 3rd should be considered, although that'd probably give Ned a chance to keep Estrada in the 5 hole.

    Ok, so Dumbledore's original explanation in the Half Blood Prince was a lie to protect Harry. I don't remember, what did he tell Harry beyond the fact that there were 7 horcruxes?

    Now people will say "Who knows what would have happened if Pence was healthy" and stuff along those lines. I don't think we're at that point yet. All this is going to do is even up the ABs.

    I suspect Gordon and Zimmerman would be putting up better numbers if they got to bat in front of Fielder. Maybe, but it probably wouldn't make that much difference. Braun's just out of his mind right now.

    There are 7 horcruxes plus Voldemort. Your own original body is not a horcrux.

    I'm pretty ambivalent, because the sum total doesn't change, you still need someone else to pitch an inning. Yes, it works out very nicely if you score before they do, but otherwise it doesn't matter. So if you want to argue the premise that the team scores the next inning, then absolutely throw the closer first, but that's a different argument.

    Where are the facts that say that the statistics of a batter vs a particular pitcher are irrelevant? But Peavey, he's not saying that by definition the matchup is irrelevant, he's saying that 7AB's is pretty meaningless, and I'd tend to agree. If the batter is like 30/50 or something, then maybe you have something, but 7 AB's? Is that seriously something to put any stock in? edit: So if someone is 5-7 on Wednesday games that start at 5:15, do you make the leap that somehow that means something?

    Yeah, that bit with Mrs. Weasley was a little silly and seemed out of character for the books. I was a little surprised when Harry didn't end up dying, I think I would've been ok with it ending like that, although maybe she didn't want to do that because a lot of people theorized that Harry was the 7th horcrux and he would have to die to kill Voldemort.

    If Milwaukee continues to just win series (they don't have to sweep), it is going to be really tough for the Cubs to overtake them, especially since they only play each other 3 more times. Although I agree in theory, now that the Cubs are only 2.5 (well, as soon as this game's over) games back, that's not really true.
