  1. LOL at Sal's "I'm having a beer for everyone here! I'm having a hundred thousand beers!!"
  2. Probably a good idea to spin up a separate 2027 rotation thread.
  3. It's not like there was any doubt that option was getting declined from one or both sides.
  4. I don't see how any other result is possible (even with postseason not counting in voting).
  5. He's saying the Yankees are a selfish team playing for their own contracts or money or... whatever! I don't think Murph cares, but it was clearly a shot at the Yankees and... so what! We're the Brewers, we don't care what the big market think anymore! By the time Jesus Makes another Jesus Made(so Jesus Made Jr)... the way I figure it, we're going to be closing in on their World Series total! If people actually read the ESPN article, it has the full quote with a key distinction that's being missed here: "You're going to be a rich f---er," Murphy told Bauers, who is scheduled to become a free agent this offseason. "Just remember when you were on that horses--- Yankees team and you guys were all playing for yourself? Just remember, say, 'This is the way we used to do it.'" It goes on to note that a number of other players have criticized that same team. This wasn't referencing Bauers going to the Yankees in the future.
  6. Someone (don't remember if it was Attanasio or someone else) referenced the fact that "they need to do something for him," but it wouldn't be a jersey number because they've only done that for HOFers.
  7. There's no way Contreras signs for 3 years.
  8. I think this is an AI fake unless someone else can find the actual episode.
  9. I thought Game 2 NLDS was going to be my peak sport experience. I was wrong. That was a ton of fun, including crashing the lower level in the bottom of the 9th and going crazy for the celebrationn.
  10. Boy I'm wishing I hadn't bought my ticket for tonight yet. Prices have cratered. You can get in the lower bowl for under $500.
  11. I think that's the first time this has been raised, and that's a valid question. My assumption is that if Woodruff didn't choose to pitch last night, it would've been Harrison. But why weren't Harrison or Drohan choices before Woody? Save Senza and maybe he goes a couple more batters today. In any case, one thing I'm sure of is the actual players feel far better about this than the fans. If they hold true to form, they will win one of these games.
  12. The thing is, their path to victory requires winning all 3 games, so either someone is going on short rest at some point or there's a BP game. It still may be the right decision to go Rasmussen now given the extra inning game last night, but even if you assume a Rasmussen and Peralta victory (which I sure wouldn't), you still have one more W to get somehow.
  13. I haven't gone back and watched it, but in the moment his last AB last night that ended in a double was terrific. I don't think there was one weak or check swing in the bunch, just a bunch of full cuts where he stayed alive until he finally connected with one and launched it.
  14. That's interesting. It seems like Hamilton is at least far less accurate, at least in recent memory.
  15. I'll probably read through all of this later, but, oof. That was an epic game that just lacked the right ending. From where I was sitting, it seemed like basically the whole third base side was Brewer fans. Coop's HR was like Jackson's walkoff except the game wasn't over, and then...ugh. The good news is they hit the heck out of the ball and Tampa's BP is not going to be in a good spot tomorrow. I still like our chances.
  16. Plenty of people in Brewers gear at O'Hare this morning, reinforcements incoming...
  17. I don't think it's been commented on much today, but Contreras with a legendary ABS game. That raised hand just waiting for the ball or strike call..
  18. To some extent SD and LA are sitting at home saying the same thing about their series. At some point it's not luck anymore, it's just a superior team doing just enough to win every single game.
  19. I'll be there Tues and Wed (if necessary).
  20. Turns out it's a lot easier to come back in games if your bullpen doesn't give up any runs.
  21. Based on someone commenting that it was sold out already (and the secondary market prices being crazy as well), I didn't look into it too much. It looks like they have a rapid bus that makes a loop down the center of St. Pete, so I would just walk from a hotel to grab that.
  22. I hope it's a compliment to say I read the ending of Passan's article about the game and thought "that sounds like something Trueblood would write": "This is who the Milwaukee Brewers are. If you punch them in the face, they relish the taste of the blood. If you kick them in the shin, they limp around the bases. If you give them an inch, they'll take the universe. It's the characteristic of a worthy champion, and through two games of the World Series, that looks precisely like what they're bound to be."
  23. Bauers: "“I almost started crying in the dugout,” Bauers said. “That’s such an awesome moment for Sal.”
