  1. ...and he get the 7-inning no-no. Oh well, hopefully they were just saving them all for game 2!
  2. All inclusive mega threads would be terrible. It might work to just keep the thread title update though as you do in the Minors.
  3. I think you're right that there are occasions where it makes sense to have a separate thread for an article. The hard part is knowing when something is going to generate a page or 2 of discussion and when something is going to have just a couple of replies.
  4. Poor Tim. This one's busted wiiiide open now.
  5. Gosh I love Hart. edit: and Braun. These kids are scary good.
  6. Well, for once Sheets has 1st inning run support.
  7. Timmy may not even get out of the first at this rate!
  8. MLB Gameday has Counsell batting #2 in place of JJ. Ugh, but whatever.
  9. The second picture was from magic the gathering a card called the prodigal sorceror, which for some reason was nicknamed Tim. As homage to Holy Grail seems like a plausible reason. By the way, the dude who played J. Peterman from Seinfeld John O'Henry is the headliner for the Monty Python's Spamalot show at the Wynn in Vegas. That's John O'Hurley. Sweet!
  10. I was at the game and didn't notice any leaks at all. We were in the club level on the 1b side, and there was a veritable downpour that was hitting somewhere down in the loge or field level, maybe halfway to first. It was very noticeable.
  11. I thought the Ian McKellen scenes were hilarious My favorite part: Ian's explaining how he *isn't* actually the character from the movies, and only *acts* like them when he's acting, and walks his fingers across the table while saying.. "Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Sir Ian, YOU SHALL NOT PASS! Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Sir Ian." Classic.
  12. "I like living Downtown," said Capuano, who lives in a condo near Lake Michigan and often does errands on his Segway scooter. Oh man. I demand someone in Milwaukee get a photo of Cappy on a Segway.
  13. I would say this is good material for the running article thread in the MLB forum. I've copied your post there..
  14. Posted by FIPS133 elsewhere: I've always admired Capuano for his intelligence and determination. There's something about him that just seems to indicate a guy whose never satisified always looking for something to provide an edge. The link below cements my beliefs, his list and reasoning shows this is a guy who truly is living in and enjoying Milwaukee. There hasn't been anything written about it, but his production decline coincided with him taking that fast ball off his leg in late April/early May. I wonder if he's been playing hurt since then and the groin strain is a result of him dealing with it. Just speculation. Anyway, enjoy the link. www.onmilwaukee.com/sport...otop5.html
  15. The difference between Bonds and Turnbow is that Turnbow was caught and now he gets forgiven. I'm so sick of recapping the Turnbow situation, so I'll just say that's completely not true.
  16. Wow, what a game. First, we were lucky to even get in, it was craaazy. We got near the stadium about 6:45, and didn't get to the parking lot til almost an hour later. We were in the very last row, and when we were walking up passed by a cop telling the cars to turn around and park elsewhere in the neighborhood. Then that crazy 9th inning, doesn't get more tense than 3-2, bases loaded, 2 outs, walk ties the game! And of course walking out to the car it starts raining at a decent clip, and then about 15-20 min later, you can barely even see the car in front of you. Crazy night. But a W!
  17. Only in Wisconsin do you get a 4 page thread about a new kind of beer.. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  18. Newspapers that require registration suck.
  19. Wasn't it shoulder tendonitis last time?
  20. has there been anything said definitively yet about who's going down? It's going to be Gross or Gwynn, the big question is which one.
  21. I thought it was great. I was disappointed that they decided not to do a third season.
  22. DHonks, et al, Villanuava was not available til Mon. That was stated pretty much after his start last week. It's too bad Spurling coughed it up, but that was an incredibly fun comeback to listen to.
  23. i agree crazy. I think anytime before the end of august is too early to talk playoffs. We don't need these types of posts in a thread that's purely looking for information on how the process works. No one's putting a cart before the horse, it's just a simple request.
