  1. I think it is pretty much unanamous the Pujols is the best hitter in baseball, maybe not best overall player but certainly best hitter. There is really nothing that Mauer does better than Pujols at the plate. Pujols strikes out less, walks more, hits for a higher average with more power and even steals more bases. When some is having the best year they have ever had, then they are infact by definition having a career year, like Mauer this year. Why does being a catcher prevent him from hitting .400? If anything, it may help him a little bit because the days off give him fewer ABs making it easier to hit .400. It is easier to hit .400 over 500 PAs than 600+PAs just because it is difficult to keep that high level of play up for a long time. Simply because of the wear and tear on his body. If Mauer ever moves to first base full time he would be my bet to be the next 400 hitter.
  2. Mauer is the best hitter in baseball. And he isn't having a career year, he already won a batting title, the only thing keeping him from hitting .400 is being a catcher
  3. Harper may not even be the first pick next year...Jameson Tallion has a chance to be the first pick next year
  4. I don't think Brewer fans and MLB fans realize how close CC was to resigning with the Brewers, if it was a little closer in $ he would have resigned
  5. This is how I like my owners!!
  6. Didn't that ball fly out of play? Which would mean that he had to stop at second base, plus if it didn't go out of play a defensive player is going to go get the ball and call time before he can advance to far.
  7. And both of the home fields are "hitter" parks...Yovanni is a Cy Young in the making
  8. I am not talking about a beanball war, after the warning somebody has got to bite the bullet and get tossed, if it is handled correctly, you have a little used reliever suspended 3 games (as long as he doesn't go at the head) and pitchers start thinking twice about coming inside to much. Ok, Bad example to use YO, but if Suppan would have drilled somebody, he would be the most popular guy in the clubhouse.
  9. Last time I checked the Stats for Braun he had 0 innings pitched in his Professional Career, and if YO would have drilled somebody he would be the most popular person in the Clubhouse!
  10. I am sorry to disagree with everyone who takes the approach that they don't want retaliation, sorry but if we don't retaliate we will have a hitter hurt because they are going to keep on getting drilled. All it takes is one good fastball in the back, get tossed and say..."hey we are not going to allow pitchers to continue to hit Braun and Fielder square in the back" We risk a more serious injury by allowing opposing pitchers to drill Braun and Prince than if we retaliate and try to stop it!
  11. I know he is not with the brewers any more but Ben Sheets has a page and I know for fact I know it his him!
  12. Speaking of Ueck, does anybody have a link to his HOF speech? Thanks in advance!
  13. Any chance you can post it on youtube?
  14. Why did Ueck do the post game show, doesn't Jim Powell normally do it? And the call Ueck is screaming and you can hardly hear him...i am so happy:)
  15. What I don't agree with is people like you calling him out in this thread, yes he hasn't pitched well, and yes it is okay to be upset with him, but he bought 5,000 tickets for those same fans and somebody starts a nice thread saying he is a class act saying nothing about pitching than you bring up that he hasn't earned his contract because he sucked, that my friend is classless, go to the vent thread to complain about him, not here!
  16. I believe the rule you are talking about is how far you can go after you strike out and it was a dropped third strike
  17. OK?I don't want to speak for cubsdie, but I believe he was saying that for all that Gagne has been through with the fans booing him he still has enough class to buy tickets to help create a great stadium tonight and you go rip on him for being a class act...i may be wrong and Cubsdie can correct me if I am
  18. I hope that they don't look at injury history when they decide if it is a class A FA OR Class B FA...
  19. if he is throwing already in simulated games, I would say that trainers are pretty sure he isn't going to hurt it any more. With an ACL, after surgery you really can't damage it by activity, what gets people with ACL is getting over it mentally and not doing something out of norm and hurting another part of your body, that is what is going to concern the trainers more than if his knee will hold up. He will have soreness since he hasn't used the knee a whole lot and swelling stuff like that but the actual ACL won't be a problem. Also if he is good to go and shows he can pitch, why not have Torres set up for Gallardo?
  20. IF CC makes the play is that play even on the Top 10? It is an easy play that pitchers make 95 out of 100 times...it was an error!
  21. On the first hit normally it has to be clean and no question...what Webb should have done is give it an error and if somebody gets a clean hit later in the game, than change it to a hit after the game. I hope it gets reversed and CC gets to say he tossed a no-hitter...of course the way he is throwing he may throw one before the end of the year, and I would bet that he will throw one before his career ends
  22. Yes ARod only improved upon the highest paid contract in baseball history. Boy that Boras was such a fool! Not the Point, he didn't get the money Boras said he would by becoming a FA and A-Rod did it with out Boras...
  23. I think we saw this a little bit last year when A-Rod was a FA and Boras said somethings about how much he was going to get and that he wouldn't be a yank, blah, blah, blah. Well A-Rod didn't get what he was asking and he still is a Yankee. Oh and Boras's "scouts" are the biggest idiots I have ever met in my life!
