  1. Pizza guy gets $4 (plus the change), Chinese food guy gets $5. Every time. Seems like a crappy job, or at lest one where people might treat you poorly, I guess I"m kind of a sucker. I also "round up" at the stadium for the vendors who bring my beverages. That job looks TERRIBLE, more so on hot days with 45,000 people in the stands. At a restaurant I always give 20% minimum, more if the service was good. I used to wait tables "back in the day", I guess I leave a, "I'm with you" type tip. I even clean up the table before I leave. Bartender always gets a buck ever few rounds. This one usually leads to free drinks as the night goes along.
  2. http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Music/08/10/hayes.obit/index.html#cnnSTCText Soul singer and arranger Isaac Hayes, who won Grammy awards and an Oscar for the theme from the 1971 action film "Shaft," has died, sheriff's officials in Memphis, Tennessee, reported Sunday. Relatives found Hayes, 65, unconscious in his home next to a still-running treadmill, said Steve Shular, a spokesman for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department.
  3. Same bobble, two sponsors . One was given out at the game (June 17, 2001, fans 16 and under only - this was NOT an all fan giveaway). The other was a retail version.
  4. http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Movies/08/09/obit.bernie.mac.ap/index.html Bernie Mac, the Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actor and comedian who worked his way to Hollywood success from an impoverished upbringing on Chicago's South Side, died Saturday at age 50.Actor/comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital," his publicist, Danica Smith, said in a statement from Los Angeles, California. She said no other details were available and asked that his family's privacy be respected.
  5. I have a signed ball. Let me know if you're interested.
  6. Is your whole argument semantics? My goodness.
  7. Comptixking, No matter what your intentions are, you're coming across as a bitter guy with his own agenda and any "message" you re trying to get across is being lost. Take a step back and relax. If we don't get our bobbles, if the whole thing turns out to be one big scam...Yes, we'll all owe you an apology. But the fact of the matter is this. There are many, many people on this board that have dealt with CCD7 and with Matt in the past and we've had nothing but good experiences. You burst on into this thread with "Breaking" (but not really) news and you're main goal seems to be to...what?. I really don't know. And your methods for getting your point across are.., lacking and don't really fit in with the "spirit" of this board. This is a tight board with lots of trust. Believe me, if someone screws us over - just once - their reputation here (and thus a source of income) is toast. I don't know what it is your do for living Eric, but whatever it is - just remember - your reputation follows you around. I willing to bet there a few people in this thread that will just assume avoid "Comptixking" on ebay or another board based on your actions here this afternoon.
  8. No, he's looking for the short lived (1991 - 1993) gray button up Brewers road jersey with the word "Milwaukee" written in script WITH the tail. As far as I know, this jersey has not been issued through the Cooperstown collection line. The only way to find one is to find someone who owned on back then. It may even be easier to find a game used one from that period, of course there is a price premium for GU jerseys. Good luck.
  9. Very true. We used it look out the window from our 6th floor apartment and "observe" the goings on at what we called the "**+%@$ Hotel" with it's large "Rooms by the hour" sign out front.
  10. I lived on 29th and Wisconsin for a number of years, and no it's not the best place to stay, but there are FAR, FAR worse areas to be in.
  11. Didn't you start a thread almost exactly like this a few months ago? Or is my mind playing tricks on me?
  12. Also important to note that the Brewers TV deal is the worst in all of baseball in terms of revenue produced for the team. Mark Attanasio has said that the deal, signed while under the Selig ownership is the "biggest fiscal constraint" the Brewers face. It is so bad that shortly after buying the team he had his lawyers look into trying to get the club out of the deal. Unfortunately, the Brewers are stuck with it until 2012.
  13. http://blogs.jsonline.com/brewers/archive/2008/07/18/brewers-probably-looking-at-street.aspx San Francisco - Brewers general manager Doug Melvin told me earlier today that he wouldn't pay $2 million for "a tweak" in his bullpen. What about paying to acquire Oakland closer Huston Street? I just learned that Melvin's top special assistant, Dick Groch, is at Yankee Stadium this weekend. The Brewers are looking for relief help, and Street is believed to be available on the trade market, so it's easy to put one and one together to get two. Other teams are certain to have interest in Street, 24, who is 2-3 with a 4.07 ERA in 38 games, with 17 saves in 21 chances. The Athletics have a couple of veteran set-up men in Keith Foulke and Alan Embree, but they would constitute more of a tweak than a significant move. Acquiring Street would be a dynamic move that would allow the Brewers to return Salomon Torres to the eighth inning, which has become a mine field since Torres replaced Eric Gagne as closer. Street wouldn't break the bank, either. He is making $3.3 million this year, less than half of which is remaining to be paid. And Street has two more years after 2008 before he can be a free agent. Acquiring Street would be a dynamic move for the bullpen, just as acquiring CC Sabathia was a dynamic move for the rotation.
  14. Do you have tickets already, or are you going to try to get them at the door? Just curious.
  15. Matt, umm....how are you getting them? Oops.. Sorry. Seriously though, these are going to be huge.
  16. Meh.... It's four votes. I'm guessing a couple are catchers he's run over.
  17. Runs Scored : 7 Pitches 13 (8 Strikes)
  18. They also said this (that Kosuke Unofficially beat Braun in the voting) during the Cubs Cards game this afternoon.
  19. That's an understatement. Our hotel was about 3 minutes from the Stadium. After the game we walked around downtown and hit up some of the bars. Every one of which was dead. We asked the bartender at the first bar when it gets busy and he said, "Well it's Saturday night so people are out doing stuff". Okay. The next bar, same thing. He said, "Well, if the Brewers weren't in town we'd be dead. "I looked around the bar and of the 10 other people in the place, my brother in law and I we're the only 2 Brewer fans. There were four people in Twins garb, two guys we talked to at the bar that said they didn't really follow baseball too much and 4 girls at a booth eating. The next was a tiny bit busy, just a tiny bit. But, there were mostly Brewers fans there. We did manage to find one place that was kind of cool, but really. I was surprised by how slow it was around town. I've been to bars in Pewaukee on a Tuesday night that were 3-4 times as busy as these places were on a Saturday night. But, that aside - the trip was pretty good. One of the coolest sports moments I've ever witnessed came this weekend during the pre game batting practice . Prince Fielder proceeded to launch ball after ball after ball into the upper deck near the white curtains. The 2,000 or so people in the park that early gave him a huge ovation when he left the cage. I've never seen an ovation for batting practice. He did this last year too and the Twins fans were in shock. I even video taped their reactions because it was so funny. "Ohh my god, did you see that!"

  21. I like my job, but I hate most of my clients. Not on a personal level... (well one of them I do). I actually like my co workers and even my boss. I love the hours and the schedule. Now lets see if I make it to my next review.....
  22. I wonder how this comment registers on the "Keep Brewerfan Beautiful" meter.
  23. I'm on my way out the door and heard something about Prince Fielder being sued by the IRS FOR $400,000. Anyone else heard about this yet?
  24. I'm guessing the total would be over 1000 games? 1500?
