  1. Because the Brewers charge $1,200, surely I can charge $5,000. Good luck buddy. BTW, Insertion fee on $5000 is $4.80, Upgrades - $1.10, Final Value Fee, $93. Paypal fee $145 - ouch.
  2. Best. Advice. Ever.
  3. I haven't had a cat in at least 20 years but I remember he would scratch at an antique love seat all the time so we got a spray bottle full of water and every time she went near it we'd squirt her with it. Worked like a charm. She soon stirred clear of that area all together. Not sure if you want to shoot water at Christmas lights though.
  4. I think those days are gone for the rest of the season. I just sold my used Wii online for $450.
  5. The xbox has an add on HD DVD drive that is not bundled with any of the SKU's. It's sold separately for $179.
  6. The Arcade version comes with a 512mb memory card (256mb on board link). The hard drive is needed for backwards compatibility and downloading movies/tv shows/game demos. You can find a hard drive on ebay for $50-$70 on ebay if you don't want to pony up now.
  7. As far as I know they done something similar most years since 1991 when they began the 2 game home and home series with the Cubs (when we were still in the AL).
  8. $19 in Maryvale. I think he meant the exhibition games at Miller Park.
  9. The two games at MP are on the Friday and Saturday right before the season opens.
  10. No big surprises here. We open with the A's as usual but only one game against the Dodgers? To bad. I'd think they'd be a good draw as this is their first cactus league season.
  11. Seriously, McFarlane wall. Dang.
  12. I hate to quote someone just to say "agreed" but this is identical to my experience as well.
  13. I kinda doubt this is true, but it illustrates the point with firefox. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/ilookback/ff.jpg
  14. Firefox. Kills bugs dead.
  15. I think I've posted most, if not all of these before but here they again... These pictures do not even come close to showing everything. I still have most of the mini bobbles in the boxes yet. I will admit I've fallen way behind on the minor league bobbles. I have a few still in the box yet to be displayed though. I think I have every full sized and most of the mini SGA bobbles from Miller Park.. All in all I have 45 game used bats (somewhere near half of them are signed). I have a couple of jersey, undershirts, pants, gloves and helmets as well. Lots of framed photos and newspapers too. Tons of cards, books, magazines etc... I started making custom mcfarlanes this year too. Anyway if anyone really wanted to check out my collection you can hit up my website (linked in my sig). I might be dumping the website soon so get your looks now http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/ilookback/wall123.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/ilookback/wall1234.jpg Every time I get an autographed card it goes on this wall. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/ilookback/wall123456.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/ilookback/wall12345.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/ilookback/batsforsale.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/ilookback/BATSLOGO.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/ilookback/wall1234567.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/ilookback/customBSthumb.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/ilookback/fullcustomcap1.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/ilookback/wall1.jpg
  16. The GM's voted. I assume this was just a recommendation on their part? I'd also assume the commissioners office, the umpires and the team owners will have a say too. Interesting though to say the least.
  17. Here are a few of my favorites from this year. I can upload full size versions in the morning if you want Brian, just let me know. First is from April. The lighting kind of sucked but the photo was timed perfectly. This was a home run swing. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/ilookback/friday_hou2.jpg This was a second later. I love this one because everyone in the photo is looking up watching this moon shot. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/ilookback/friday_hou.jpg I just like this one for some reason. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/ilookback/mp.jpg.
  18. One time (once!) this year I purchased a Mikes Hard Lemonade at Miller Park and my brother informed me that I may in fact be a female.
  19. I was having trouble building a mental image of this event until I read the "sugary, yellow liquid" line. So thats what Mountain Dew is.
  20. There is a company in Pennsylvania (?) that sells a software to ticket brokers that floods the ticket seller with 1000's of request per second. It basically acts as a bot to grab up all the tickets. This was in the news last week. I wonder if something related happened here.
  21. I just rolled my eyes when I heard the Rockies were going to go "internet only" with ticket sales.
  22. According to the Rockies website ticket sale have been suspended. Less than 500 tickets were sold before they shut it down. No time frame as to when ticket sales will resume.
  23. sams club (.com) has a reasonably priced bundle available for the time being. You get the Wii ($250), and extra Controller ($40), extra Nunchuk ($20), a "classic" controller ($20), Twenty dollars of Wii points (for downloading classic games) ($20) & a game (Ninjabread Man?) ($30). Of that bundle the only thing I wouldn't want (or recommend) to buy is the Ninjabread Man game. Without the game I think thats the perfect bundle to enjoy your wii right out of the box. Who knows, maybe Ninjabread Man is good - I don't know. Personally I still play wii sports more than anything else (followed closely by Super Monkey Ball).
  24. Then go to Target across town. If you have a Target in your town or city or anywhere relatively nearby, go there. There will inevitably be several there at all times. It's the coolest thing ever. Target rocks. The thing is I shopped every Target around many times over. Each time stopping by the game area looking for a Wii with no luck. Then all of the sudden - boom - there it was. I thought the DVD feature would be available as a software update. Who knows, like you I don't really care if my Wii can play DVD's. One more thing to anyone who's going to but a wii this year. But an extra nunchuck and wii-mote asap! I had to wait 6 months before finding one at Walmart. That was 6 month of single player action. I don't know if the controllers are still short shipped like the console, but just in case...
  25. Really, what was the point of that article? The title should have been "10 Things Major League Baseball Won't Tell You, and 8 of them are things you probably already know". "So much for the national pastime." Baseball does poorly on national tv. Yep. Been talked about for years. Local viewer ship in many markets is pretty good though isn't it? "Scalping tickets is illegal - unless, of course, we do it." Okay, I concede many people might not know about this. "We're as American as apple pie - and job outsourcing." Latin players? In baseball? Since when and why wasn't I informed? And here I am like a sucker thinking that everyone in MLB just had a really good tan. "We make it tough for you to watch your team play." Yes they do. No doubt about it. "We still haven't cleaned up our act." Steroids! Thanks smartmoney.com for letting the cat out of the bag. "The players aren't the only ones getting injured." Two words - Jeromey Burnitz. Actually seven more words "Watch out for flying bats and balls" "Our accounting defies the laws of nature..." No doubt, MLB has some special math. But is this really news to anyone? I mean anyone since 1995? Even the "I can turn a $4 million profit into a $2 million loss and get every national accounting firm to agree with me" quote is over 10 years old. "...while you're the one picking up the slack." Teams are making an insane amount of profit? And thats why my ticket cost $85? Really? Thanks for clearing that up. "We've got friends in high places." Ok. This might have been the subject of a good article. "The most valuable thing in a pack of baseball cards is the gum." No comment. Yes I will. No I won't.
