  1. The only obvious offensive upgrade is another RH corner outfielder. i think they could get an OK one for a middling prospect.
  2. Why not pitch Spurling in the 7th? He's pitched pretty well of late 5 earned runs over his last 4 2/3 IP and 4 appearances. He has a 1.68 WHIP this year as well. Frankly, he's not the kind of reliever that should be called on with runners already on.
  3. Crazy to think the Brewers were one, non-strikes 3 call from winning the series against Texas.
  4. I think the Brewers had 27 base runners total (22 hits, 2 walks, 2 HBP, 1 E) over 12 innings and scored exactly 1/3rd of them. If that way off of expected? What's a normal game? Something like 12 runners and 4.5 runs? And the fact that the Brewers will miss the Tigers' and Twins' aces is certainly a positive.
  5. And after all that, the Brewers add a half game to their lead. Crazy times.
  6. I don't think Texas is as bad as their current record indicates. Seeing Vargas in the game right now makes me sooo darn scared.
  7. We will be under .500 the next time we play in Miller Park. How many times in the last 2 weeks has this "prediction" been made (with varying dates)?
  8. Jenkins sure picked a nice time to wake up!
  9. If not for Coco, the Brewers would have already won the series, 2-1. Nothing could go wrong to start the season, now nothing is going right. What is he supposed to say? He's supposed to scream bad things about his players, to make Bucksman feel better.
  10. It would sure make me feel better if Villy can come in and pitch.
  11. Cocco had the strike out to end the game and the ump blew it. What are you going to do.
  12. Yost must really hate Sheets, since he seems to come up with worse and worse lineups for each of his starts. YUCK.
  13. This is good. Maybe if I keep you guys talking about this stuff here, I won't have to read outside the vent thread that a collapse is "likely" or "probably" going to happen. What are the corresponding probabilities associated with those words, anyway? Greater than 50% for "likely", at least. I'd say "probably" has to be at least 2 in 3. Maybe more? Such slippery little words.
  14. With the way they've been playing I don't think it's unlikely. If you think the Brewers have a greater than 50% chance of going 1-7 during the balance of this home stand, you've been spending too much time in this venting thread. Yeah but isn't that what this thread is for? To be pessimistic so we don't clog up the board with a bunch of pessimistic viewpoints. I'd have no problem if those posts could only be found only in the venting thread. The fact is that every IGT has about 5 posts of people predicting all kinds of silly things. It's spilled out into every corner of this message board.
  15. Was this necessary? With the way they're playing it wouldn't be surprising. It wouldn't be surprising if the Brewers finished the road trip 1-7? How much money are you willing to bet that comes true? Let me guess... and please, if I'm wrong, please send my a PM. It's just too easy for everyone to spew pessimistic nonsense every other post. I appreciate the people are frustrated by the Brewers' recent crappy play but when every post is a "prediction" that the Brewers will be under .500 by such and such a date, it gets old really quick. These forums have simply become one huge vent thread. And yes, the irony of me venting about a vent has not gone unnoticed.
  16. WOW, A PREDICTION THAT THE BREWERS WILL BE UNDER .500 BY A CERTAIN DATE! THAT'S A NEW ONE!
  17. Fielder has taken 7 hacks over 2 AB. Very unFielder of him.
  18. The Brewers are right back in this and the Cardinals are getting creamed. Things looking up.
  19. You know, 3 or 4 more runs and I might turn this darn game off! I am confident that Sheets can tie this series up tomorrow, giving the Brewers the chance to play for a series win on Sunday. For those hoping for a sweep, don't be surprised that you feel disappointed right now. It's not good to hope for something that has a small chance of happening. You set yourself up for bad feelings.
  20. Brewers hitting liners right at people and the Rangers hitting nubbers for RBIs. Tis baseball.
  21. Do you mean this game or the season, Russ Sorry, you'll have to find someone else to get "the season is over" talk from. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I don't think like that.
  22. Wow, this could get ugly. EDIT: Nice throw from Hall to stop the bleeding!
