  1. Can we please stop with the "it's ok we lost because the Cubs/Astros lost too?" It's getting pathetic for some of us. Thanks. Well, keeping a nice lead in the NL Central is kinda important, don't you think?
  2. Flipping weeks and estrada would make it perfect though. Take advantage of his great OBP?
  3. I just don't think there is a market for any of the players we would like to see traded... Bush and to a lesser degree, Vargas, most certainly have value.
  4. Did someone stop watching this game!?
  5. Bush's career numbers don't indicate that his ceiling is that high. I don't disagree but I still think Vargas would be the first to go if Yo is brought up. Also, regardless of who's chosen between Bush and Vargas, both are too valuable to simply be thrown into the bullpen, IMO. Now, if Melvin can find a way to trade a pitcher to make room... Finally, I like villy but I'm not convinced his ceiling is very high. It would seem odd to me to take Bush out of the lineup for Villy. Pretty good problem to have, I think. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. That's in over 60 innings so it's not such a small sample anymore. 60 IP isn't a small sample? That's the definition of small sample for ERA. I won't pretend that Bush has had a good year so far but we aren't talking about the first 60 IP of his career. I'm confident that Bush is a decent bottom of the order kind of pitcher because of his entire career and it's going to take more than 60 IP of disappointing results to change my mind.
  7. Well, the Cubs and Houston are once again doing their best to show why we us Brewer fans were optimistic about our team's chances this year. Both are losing.... again. 7-2 now. Never give up! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  8. What sucks is that the batter before stuck out according to gameday advanced, but it was called a check swing ball. Sometimes the subjectiveness of ball/strike calls can get really annoying. I get confused by the old school heads. That was last year. Duh.
  9. I enjoyed everything up until the point where nothing was explained... Again.
  10. No matter what happens, someone will claim a conspiracy. I guess it gives people sometimes to talk about. People who conspire prey upon the naive who believe that conspiracies aren't very possible, thus allowing them to not be questioned. What's the evidence we are naively overlooking?
  11. I declared this series over last night after we lost. Someone here actually thought we would beat Penny? Haha. Funny stuff. Onward to SD! You must have made a killing in Vegas on this game.
  12. I also think you have to bunt and then pinch hit for Sheets anyway. I generally dislike bunting but that was a perfect time to do it. Down by one, late in the game with a crappy hitter at the plate. Text book bunt situation. I'm guessing Yost didn't want to take Sheets out.
  13. My vote is will be Hart. EDIT: Sorry. A more constructive response would be... Is that who you think should be sent down or will be?
  14. If you take out Hardy's power how can you not go with Gross? Gotta get the "hot bat" back in the lineup. Gosh, I give up trying to defend Yost. Why would you have counsell and Graffy at the end of the line-up again? I'm starting to get upset. Why would you put the second worst hitter on the team at 2nd?
  15. sbrylski06, with BSCR, being the assistant regional GM and Brett being the assistant to the regional GM. Endaround can be the chief financial officer. I'd like to be that old guy in a uniform that hangs out in the dugout and eats sunflower seeds during that entire game. The guy that doesn't actually serve any useful purpose. I think the people posted are all excellent choices, but Casey1992 has to be part of the search list. Naaa, he's too nice. Got to have that killer instinct!
  16. Confirmed blister. Sheets might just need an extra day's rest. The match up doesn't look great tomorrow but any pitcher is beatable.
  17. Just give Carlos the start and make sure Sheets only misses one start.
  18. Sheets won't pitch again this year.
  19. Didn't bucksman say the same thing during Sheets' last start? He's not allowed to give up any runs. Lineup later this year against lefties Hall crushes lefties.
  20. Do you EVER look at any stats? Zambrano went 16-7 with an ERA+ of 136, which is obviously very good. But the main reason he won 16 games on a bad team is because his team scored 5.83 runs a game during his starts. He doesn't need to look at stats. Him and Sparky just "know baseball" .
  21. Anyone who knows baseball knows you look to your ace to be the stopper in preventing losing streaks. That's just some more cliche bologna that guys like Sparky like to spoon feed guys like you. An ace is expected to be the best starting pitcher on the team. If he's a good ace, he's going to give the team a reasonable chance of winning if he's given any kind of reasonable run support. Losing streaks, winning streaks, whatever. To expect an ace to go out there and always break up a losing streak is a good way to set a guy up for inevitable criticism (something you are very good at).
  22. I called Sheets out last game because we were in a 4-game losing streak and I said an ace would STOP the losing streak before it got out of hand. Is that too much to ask? You can ask for anything you want but it's unrealistic to expect it.
  23. I hope Yost wouldn't bench Hall based on the results of 13 AB. Hall typically crushes lefties, so I expect to see him back in the 4th spot tonight. Gwynn's line over his last 19 AB, including 4 starts: .210 / .210 / .263 / .473 Gwynn is no longer "hot", so I would hope Yost doesn't throw him out there against a lefty. As much hate as Mench gets around here, he's fine when used correctly (lefties only!). He hasn't been that bad against lefties this year and has a .969 OPS against them from 04' - 06'. Yost just ran his numbers into the ground by playing him against RHP. In that same vein, I wouldn't advocate starting Jenkins against LHP and making the same mistake with him. I have to guess Hart is healthy now (I haven't read any news about his wrist lately, at least), so I'd give him the start. Since Estrada is married to the 5th spot: Weeks Hardy Prince Hall Estrada Mench Hart Graffy Sheets
  24. I think the lineup is laughable but hey, I've said all that I have to say on the subject, so that leaves me with.... GO BREWERS!
  25. I wouldnt say Gwynn is hitting bad. He had a hit in each of the last two games. You should expect a lot more than just a single a night from a starting corner outfielder. I sure do.
