  1. Simply amazing. Sheets was hitting the corners great with his fastball, which was letting him get ahead early in the count. Then he'd just throw curveball after curveball and the braves had no shot. i went to his first 10K game this year against the Astros, where he rellied heavily on the fastball. Not today! Did he throw ONE changeup?
  2. Yost, for the most part, seems VERY reluctant to pinch hit for anyone but the pitcher. I'm sure it has something to do with "teaching them how to battle" and being afraid to hurt their feelings. Yost is a player's manager, and while I can't ignore the obvious benefits of that (the guys obviously play hard for him) the downside is today's game. Despite having better options, Yost didn't want to pull the starters. As for Trent, he apparently got on Yost's good list, right along Helms and Bennet. Not really sure HOW you get on that list. What Yost does well, he does very well (motivator), but what he does bad (in game management)...... OUCH.
  3. I think the Ben Ford experiment is officially over. Time to DFA him. Not like anyone will claim him. EDIT: I was kind of happy to see Ford. I have Kolb in fantasy baseball, and I figured he Ford would get Kolb into a save situation
  4. Clancy, Saenz has made ONE start. To come to the conclusion that he is MOST ready after one start is silly. Also, I think you don't understand how the arbitration rules work. My understanding is he has acrued a few days towards arby, not that he has started a "clock" that is now ticking. Didn't we already have a huge thread clarifying this? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
  5. ON CUE, THEY BATTLED BACK! bILL hALL WITH A 2 RUN JACK TO MAKE IT 3-3! Just think how good the Brewers would be with Hall AND Ginter in the lineup! I can only dream I guess.
  6. Hall and Brooks (I want them when they represent the tying run...not to try to start a rally) Huh? Why exactly would you NOT want your best players to start a rally in the bottom of the 8th, down by 3? Save them until after the game? It's not like there were two out when Durrington hit, so the situation is as good as ever to start a rally. There was atleast 3 better options: Clark Hall Keischnick I just don't understand the logic. It was just Yost trying to find a place to pinch hit for a guy who has no role.
  7. Another great game... I tuned in for the bottom of the 9th... man I have good timing http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Wes certainly needed that. He doesn't go anothe rmonth to get another RBI. Why is Trent on the team?
  8. Yehhh, we are running out of prospects. This is so frustrating.
  9. The Brewers are third in the NL in runs scored. I don't think who's batting second or who's playing short is the problem here. So is the goal of the Brewer's offense to score the most amount of runs possible, or to score a good enough amount of runs? My point is, if there is a potential weakness in the Brewer's offense, to ignore it is silly under ANY circometsances.
  10. how about STOP batting like a complete fool. My wife says he looks stupid wwhen he bats. I think she has a point. To be fair, Caounsell has played SS nice and he's very patient at the plate. That said, his ability is irrelevant, when discussing what's the best long term for the Crew. Get Hall 450 AB this year and trade him!
  11. While Hall is obviously lacking certain skills, he is young enough to improve. Counsell is what he is. While Hall won't be a starter for us in teh future, he COULD be for another team. It would seem to me that Hall has much more potential value in terms of a trade. For a team that SHOULD be concerned about 2006, it would seem a no brainer to play Hall over Counsell.
  12. It took Kinney 1 pitch to erase the no hitter. What I LOVE about teh rules, Kinney has looekd aweful but will get the win. STUPID. Brewers got a gift, Kinney threw ball 4 against Cam, but it was called a strike.
  13. Yost seems more concerned with Hernandez getting the win, then the Brewers. I want to see Yost pull a starter BEFORE the implode. Hernendez, Kinney combine for first brewer no-hitter since Nieves!!!! yeh right http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif
  14. Well Sutton was talking about funny names in baseball, specifically mentioning Stubby Clap. Don't tell me he doesn't read this forum http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Helms sucks.
  15. Helms had a bloop single AND a REAl single in ONE game! He's golden! Seriously, someone tell me the last time he had a multi-ghit game. May 4, 2004. I said that wrong. I meant when he had a mult-base hit. Like not a single. The answer.... April 11th!
  16. OK, Overbay is doing better than anyone else could have imagined. While we all heard that he was a "doubles machine" I don't think any of us thought that meant, "he'll lead the world in doubles." Ginter is um..... good! Man, this lineup: Pods CF Ginter 3B Spivey 2B Jenks LF Overbay 1B Grieve RF Hall SS Moeller C would be SOOOOoooOOooo nice........ Owell, time to put Ginter back on the bench. Helms had a bloop single AND a REAl single in ONE game! He's golden! Seriously, someone tell me the last time he had a multi-ghit game.
  17. When Melvin decided it wasn't worth signing an OK #3 type pitcher and maybe shore up the pen, he KNEW he was playing with fire. Well, this is what he gets.
  18. I'm over it... On to New York. Atleast we are scoring alot of runs!
  19. As I said, some people will defend Yost no matter what. Fine, Yost played it by the numbers. Great job!
  20. No matter what Yost does, some people will say it ws the smart choice. What exactly did Yost gain by leaving Oby in there? let's see, he pitched a total of NO innings after he batted. WHATEVER. Just talk about what a great motivator he is. EDIT: O look Kieschnick. Maybe he should have pitched TYO START THE INNING.
  21. O look, Oby gives up a single and a walk and gets yanked. YOST IS SO FRIGGING OBSESSED WITH MAKING PLAYERS FEEL HAPPY HE CAN'T DO ANYTHING RIGHT. He's nothing but a mascot.
  22. top of the 7th, bases loaded for the Brewers, 2 outs and the pitching spot up. What do you do as the manager? Well, if you are Yost it's obvious, let your starting pitcher bat!!! Yost does stupid things. When Wes coughs up the lead you will agree with me. That's Ok though, since Yost will say it was a learning experience.
  23. So bases loaded for the Brewers. The Red's pitcher just walked Pods on 4 pitches and then falls behind 3-0 to Hall. Step in Bill, "He should get the green light here." Bill Schroeder is a complete idiot.
  24. Last year our bullpen was not bad, but our starting pitching was awefull. This year everything is just awefull!
  25. Bill Schroeder telling Jr how to bat. Schroeder says you have to hack with 2 strikes! Let me explain something to you. Whatever philosophy you had as a batter, it was HORRIBLE! .240 / .281 / .426 You were pathetic, shutup!
