  1. Bennett is a gritty battler, he'll be fine. If Kinney getting rocked doesn't get him outa the game, his high pitch count will. 63 pitches through 3.
  2. I'm sorry, but if you are MVP of ANY league you are doing something right.
  3. Could Hart be one of those guys that, despite everyone saying he isn't special, proves everyone wrong? I've been following the mino rleagues for about a year and half, and most seem to dismiss him as being anything more than a possible average majorl eaguer. I don't know if I agree anymore....
  4. How far did the big guy's HR go? Kolb in trouble
  5. WOW! Big guy delivers!!!!! We have a nice bench this year!!! I don't care if he can't pitch at all!!!!
  6. Someone please explain to me what makes Ben Ford supposedly good? It's certainly not his 9.0+ ERA in the majors for his career...
  7. Grieve barely even swings! I'm all for patience at the plate, but it seems like he just ignores the AB until he has 2 strikes. I have seen NOTHING from him that would indicate that he's ready to break out.
  8. I hate Grieve. The old nugget finder done find him a big ol' hunk o' coal.
  9. On field delay? What the hek is going on?
  10. 3 straight walks, to load the bases... make em pay, Spivey!
  11. It was Ginter who hit that HR off the LF foul pole. I'd like to see Ginter get a full season as a STARTER. His window of oportunety is closing, however, with Weeks not far behind. I suppose if Overbay royally blows this year, we'll see an infield of (backups in ()): 1B: Helms (Overbay) 2B: Weeks (Hall) SS: J.J. Hardy (Hall) 3B: Ginter (Helms) That would make me happy atleast http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. I'm not sure what Ginter would have to do to start. What will make me light Yost's house on fire is when Spivey get's traded and I see Hall at 2B the very next day.
  13. I was at the game. I few things: Sure enough there were more than a few boos when Sexson came up to bat. It's a shame fans are getting so jaded they are looking for an excuse to boo. Greive looks like a stone statue out there. A roller to the right of him turned into a double to the wall. Jenkins bomb was sooooo high I was waiting for the RF to catch it. Instead it was an upper deck moon shot. Sheets threw alot more curves, did he not? BTW, I did not maximize utility with my horrible grammer in my first post in this thread. Very sorry http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. are fans better give him crap, or i will be pissed i have to much pride for that @#%$ What the HELL did Sexson do for me to hate him? That's right, he played well and had a great attitude despite being on the worst team in baseball. He also did something Sheffield, Burnitz and many other couldn't to. He didn't need to say anything disparaging about the Brewer organization after he left. For that, I will give him a nice cheer before his first at bat. He has earned it.
  15. So, because the United States was founded by Euro-caucasians, marijuana is unethical, but alcohol consumpsion is virtuous? I take a utilitarianistic aproach to the question of ethics; How does my actions hurt or help others? I think it's fairly obvious that the negative social affects of alcohol easily eclipse any effects marijuana has had. While I appreciate that is somewhat effected by the legality of the substances in question, most are well aware that marijuana is widely accessable for those who wish to have it. But yeh, it's bad because they say so. BTW, I don't smoke pot, so this is an unbiased opinion. ANYWAY, I'm going to the game tonight and I agree this is a must win, if only because the Crew only has pitching advantage in 1 of 5 games, max! Also, I will certainly give a nice ovation to Sexson, and then hope he strikes out 5 times http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Edit: Fixed 58 misspellings
  16. I certainly won't take from Pods his speed, and therefore his ability to get to calls in the gaps. I also appreciate the wind causing trouble for everyone. Still, there are many fine defensive CFs that can do that and much more. Hell. most CF are fast and get to the gaps pretty well. Perhaps it's time for Pods to take a couple steps back and stop playing so shallow. Clancy, 6 wins X --------------- = ----------------- 14 games 162 games X = ----------- = 69.4 wins Edit: Why the HEK does it delete multiple spaces?
  17. Let's look at the bright side, the Crew is on pace to better last year's record. 69 wins, baby!! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. Pods looks clueless out there. Of course Yost weould never flip flop Clark and Pods, since that might hurt his Pod's feelings. Where are those who claimed he was an above average CF?
  19. Although being warned of it, I was still unaware how BAD of an OF Grieve is. He's a liability to say the least. Even if he becomes a .250 20 HR type guy, I still don't think he has any future in the NL.
  20. Helms will never be benched. He's Yost's homosexual lover.
  21. What happened on teh play Bennet got the error? Clancy, Noone one said Kinney was good. All that was said was he had more upside than Franklin, which isn't saying much anyway. The fact that you turned your fascination with Franklin into utter disgust for Kinney is kind of disturbing. I can't give Melvin any credit until he can assembly a pitching staff that isn't almost the worst in the whole league. It's gooing be two years in a row now that the pitching staff will be plain bad. After davis and Hernendaz fail, he'll be 1 for about 10 on pitchers, with kolb being the lone bright spot. I mean, Dave Mlicke? Where is he these days?
  22. If Greive is still stinking it up come July, might it be time to put Pods in LF, Clark in CF, and Jenkins in RF? That's about as good as it could get defensively for the Crew.
  23. This is easy for me to say, but it seemed like the Brewers were taking TOO many pitches today. Oswalt was throwing almost all strikes anyway, so go to hacking. Of course, when his stuff was as good as it was, I have a feeling the Crew had no idea what he was throwing. That slow curve of his was unhittable.
  24. I really hope people will finally realise that Pods is average at BEST in CF.
  25. But Yost said he want's his pitchers to battle? Bennett didn't battle by intentionally walking him, did he? What exactly did he learn? It's simple. Yost is a wonderfull motivator, but I simply don't agree with many of his day to day decisions. With the team being as it is, he's probably still the best manager for the job, but there may come a time when his shortcomings can't be overlooked.
