Well, you might as well root against him. He's going to stink either way. Seriously, someone PLEASE let me know... what DOES Ginter have to do before everyone here likes him? Hit more HR than any other rookie? Hmmm, lead the team in HR even though he's not even a strter? Err UmmMm, save small children from burning buidlings?
Am I the only one who sees the irony in how a reliever is said to ALWAYS be overworked or underworked? Great example was after the extra inning game vs. Diamond Backs. Just silly. I don't know about you guys, but I've really enjoyed this year so far http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif erhaps I have the bar set low, but being average with a bunch of young guys making 27 mil is a HELL of alot better than being average with a 50 million dollar payroll filled with aging vets.
I think some of us just get a little warn out by crazy, illogical optimism. Santos pitched very well and CERTAINLY deserves anotehr start. That said, almost never goes a good player come from nowhere (diverts eyes from Pods). It's just important to temper your enthusiasm so you don't inevitably get disappointed.
192 posts for their game thread. We got some work to do, boys! So, when was the last time Helms has gotton an extra base hit? Overbay is the real deal. SO much fun to watch. Maybe HE can play 3B..... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
When Haynes pitches a one hit complete game shutout, I will make sure I am flaming fall-down drunk, as to fully appreciate the nauseous suffering that can only be felt by a Milwaukee brewer fan!
I don't think any team with an average offense and a team ERA over 5 should be calling any teams "lesser opponents" One day at a time, boys. Hopefully Sheets wins tonight and we can split the other two.
Well, I don't think the arms in the minors are enough to fill out a 5 man rotation. Back problems aside, Sheets has been a workhorse. While I agree a 5 year deal for any pitcher is taking a risk, if it was for a reasonable amount a year (5 mil) part of that risk is negated. On a side not, Say sheets goes 17-10 with a 3.5 ERA this year. What will he get in arby?
That picture of Prince is AWESOME. Any chance of getting it with more than 8 pixels? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Maybe brewerfan.net needs a picture archive.
I think the Brewers could undo alot of their mistakes by signing a long term deal with Sheets. He seems to be a VERY popular guy and because of his olympic medal, everyone knows who he is. The guy just doesn't get hurt, so a long term deal isn't as much of a risk. Is he worth a 5 year 25 million deal?
That game ranks just behind the 9th inning comeback against the Cubs in greatest comebacks ever. I know I know, this was 9 runs..... but it was the CUBS! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif That suicide squeeze was ballsy. I assumed they would throw junk to Hall and ultimately walk him. Suprised they gave hime ANYTHING to hit. Great job HALL! WOW!!
Why the HELL is Davis trying to nibble the corners against the pitcher with the bases loaded? Simply inexcusable! EDIT: Helms given a hit that was an error, and gives up an error that is ruled a hit. Next batter goes yard on Ben Ford. Again I ask, WHAT has this guy done to make anyone here think he's good??!!
ESPN has splits for each count situatio, eg 1-0, 2-0, 2-1, etc... You can can simply add up how many times a player has been in a 3-0, 3-1 and 3-2 count. I think http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
It would be nice for the Crew to beat up on the Reds the next couple of days. Davis should keep us in it tonight. As for tomorrow... who knows. All I know is the Crew is 3-0 in games I've gone to so far, and I don't know know the last time I could make that claim!
You can't RELY on him to have a good start every time. WOW, that's the best you can come up with? Kinney won't have 100% quality starts for the rest of the year? RELEASE KINNEY! Seriously, say what you want, but Kinney got the job done. Nice job.
